Note: If you remove brake pads which have been used and have some wear, but you are just going to clean them, be aware that sometimes the left and right pad will wear slightly differently. One pad may have slightly more wear and be slightly thinner. This is critical when putting them back in. With very tight clearances, if you swap left to right, you may end up with a little brake rub. Before troubleshooting the brake rub, just remove the pads and swap left to right again to see if the rub goes away.

Good point! With auto-advance pistons, this is less of a concern since you can reset both sides, but this is a great tip!

Fire is a terrible idea for brake pads. It may burn off the flammable contaminents, but it leaves behind a residue that is literally burned into the pads (that is NOT removable).

Do you have a link to a recommended torch for heating up the rotor? Thanks.

The easiest way is to go back to rim brakes.

WD40 works wonders. And I've been told it's not a lubricant, just a water displacer, so it should be fine to use on pads and rotors.

Please don't put WD-40 on your brakes.

99% isopropyl alcohol or brake cleaner only.

When will some company invent a brake pad that is as user friendly as rim brakes? This is absurd! Nooooooooooo!

It's definitely a downside of disc brakes. Much more finicky to work with.

Do you Know how i fixed my disc brakes? I never bought into it in the first place. A bicycle is not a motor bike. If you want it to be a motor bike or look like one well buy va motor bike then. Stop buying into the whore house cycle industry bullshit.
