That's GH's way of dragging this out to prolong the story & upcoming scenes. It's tiresome but happens everytime. Just look at the Willow & Michael stuff, Willow tree should've been dead & buried by now but there she is w/ another round of Hospital bed scenes waiting for Liesle's marrow.

Man every episode gets better and better every time! But, I enjoyed 1:12 scene with Curtis have a private conversation with Spencer as he acknowledged him and trust Spencer to protect Trina. 2:07 Spencer keeping his promise from Curtis while being the overprotective boyfriend. I bust out laughing when Spencer turns around to see the Nanny McFee standing in front of him as he say ‘You’re not Trina’ 😂😂 But 3:17 was the icing on the cake when Trina molly, wop the nanny with a glass bottle. Both Spencer and Ace reaction was priceless but you can tell Spencer is a proud boyfriend.
Ugh, this whole storyline is giving good old fashioned soapy goodness! The little moments Trina and Curtis are sharing on this mission have warmed me up to their (likely) relationship as daughter and father. I'm not saying Curtis is replacing Taggert, but I don't mind Trina having two daddies. When Trina bopped that "nanny from hell" ova the head with a glass bottle, I couldn't refrain from saying "that's our girl" aloud🤭And did anyone else swoon over Sprina switching off baby handling duties🥰 It's as if the writers were giving us a glimpse into Sprina's domestic era😏 I LUV it here!
The only issue I have with the two fathers is how this was written in order to shoehorn Curtis bonding with Trina as a way to say to the audience once more that he's her biological dad and she gets her rescuer mentality from him. Second, Portia is enough already with her overbearing behavior, we don't need more of that; the young lady is 21 for God sakes 🙄 However, I might give Curtis a slight nod since he appears to be warming up to Spencer💯

Good scenes! Spencer has certainly come a long way from the young man who returned to Port Charles, what was it, 2 years now? He's a man now. He loves hard and protective of all of those he loves. I really hope he drops this custody suit against Esme. I think recent events have proven she is not a threat to Ace. It's time for Spencer to take Cameron's advice, they need to coexist for Ace.
As a strictly superficial observation, Spencer and Trina looked so turned on after she knocked the ish out of that "nanny" that couldn't solve a colic problem. I wish GH was this good all year. I know the pacing is quick with a ton of action, but they’ve done such a great job. I could nit pick on details, but I won’t. They’re telling this story the way all umbrella stories should be told. Even the ppl at home are contributing…between this and February sweeps, this year is shaping up to be a lot better if they can keep some of this momentum. Tabyana did fantastic work today. More than holding her own in an episode where Finola and Genie were highlighted. Great company for her to keep 💕💕 I hope the quality of the show stays on this high after may sweeps. I’m not exactly looking forward to Sprina going back to PC, but it’s inevitable. I need this to be a wake up call for both of them. Trina needs to be more vocal about her expectations and Spencer to start making the kind of choices that not only put Trina first, but show he’s thinking about her feelings. (Bc his living situation and how he handled it was careless. I expect better from him moving forward)

And I can’t imagine he gained any leverage for custody with this kidnapping. So I’m hoping that the we get a pivot away from him being so gung ho about raising this kid. But I agree, having this baby in the picture has always been an eyebrow raiser to me. It weighs down the younger set. We literally went from them in high school to them dealing with the judicial system and raising babies…do the writers remember being 20? I guess exams and serial dating wasn’t interesting to them. I’d also love to see Nikolas back. The writers don’t seem to share our opinion on that bc we haven’t gotten an update on him in weeks. And we’ve barely seen Ava, Austin or his creepy cousin.

I have a bit of a rant coming up so if you don't want to read, you may need to skip this post. I am a fan of Taggert so I had to roll my eyes real hard with the whole Curtis and Trina love going on. Are we supposed to believe that Taggert is a dead beat father now? I hate what the writers are doing here. Taggert is Trina's father and the Taggert we know will not be sitting idle while his baby girls life is at stake....PERIOD!! Yeah Chunk is cute and all however his father Nik needs to come get his son cause he's really disrupting this SL. Sprina should be be holding each other at this time but cannot because their hands are full with the baby. I know I may sound harsh but hey, I am here for Spencer and Trina and only them!
Not harsh at all. I don’t mind chunk chunk, but he comes attached to esme and for that alone, I need Spencer to wrap up his obsession with custody. I’m hoping this kidnapping will put the nail in the coffin with that but who knows. I’m with you, it’s wild that Nik isn’t on the show. GH has had plenty of time to find a replacement. I think Adam Huss would’ve been happy to collect the check… Not to go into my own rant, but you have to question the intentions here. I’ve always felt like the show loved Avery and they wanted her primary scene partner to be NAC. But they know they can’t upend Sprina, so they gave her Ace, took Nik out the picture, and made Spencer a surrogate daddy 👎🏾…they did something similar during the trial where her and NAC had a majority of their scenes together bc of his plan to exonerate Trina…anyways, I could go on for days about how poorly developed esme is. Look at how many times she’s appeared on the show since the IP story started, maybe 2-3. And once they had her talking to Austin bc she was concerned her baby wasn’t getting his meds??? But these are the types of scenes you get when you have characters with no connections, no friends, no jobs/school/places to go… As far as Taggart goes, it’s really the only part of the story I have an issue with. They’ve built him up as being a great father. And in order to fast track this relationship Curtis and Trina, they’ve taken him out of the equation. Some fans will point to the actors illness, but as far as I can tell, he’s healthier and willing to work. So it’s a writing choice. And I’m not here for his erasure. He wouldn’t just back away. At this point, if they don’t want to write for him or even mention him. Then maybe they should just kill the character off. Id rather have him completely gone than not there bc he doesn’t want to be.
Its clear the writers don't really know or haven't revealed yet what Esme will mean to the show. The fact that we haven't gotten a DNA test leaves her connection to the Cassadines and Laura up in the air. Her own family has not been explored since she gave birth much at all. We know who her parents are but I notice she's had only one scene recently (when she gave birth) with Kevin who is her uncle. I mean technically she is a legacy character but the writers aren't building on it and it doesn't look like they're trying to.
@@lisacox3750 A lot to unpack here. I’ll start by saying that I want to make clear that I believe the show is very much interested in telling this love story. Sydney spoke about being told that they were bringing someone in for her. And that they recognized immediately there was potential between her and NAC. It’s believed that Avery was brought in to slow the telling of that story. A few things to consider: 1. Trina was always going to be recast. They loved the role w/Sydney and invested in the character by building a family around her. She has better adult development than Cam and Joss imo. Lifting her off the canvas would be difficult. 2. NAC has always been supportive of the pairing and that’s clearly helpful, but he doesn’t write the stories. If we’re having an honest conversation some of the attitude about storyline intentions boils down to the “any white woman will do” energy ppl like to give. They claim to like Spencer as a character but believe he should be with joss (who he hasn’t had a meaningful interaction with since reappearing). Or Esme, a character who targeted and abused him mentally. For ppl who fall into those categories, I have nothing to offer bc it’s not about the characters, it’s about optics. But I’ve always appreciated the support he’s had for the characters and the actresses. He actually said (before she debuted) that Tabyana’s version of Trina would “bring out a different side of Spencer”. Which I loved bc it let me know they were committed to the pairing and it’s evolution. 3. We still have plenty of time to enjoy this story and I’d suggest everyone do that. Tabyana and Nic have talked about their ambitions outside the show. Tabyana has a second book coming out. Nic’s already done a movie, we know he wants to continue exploring his options. We don’t know what their intentions are. But should they chose to leave, I’ll be happy for them and also support recasting. 4. My comments about Esme spoke more to lack of character development for Esme. She can’t stand on her own. That’s why we have the grandmother of her victims financially supporting her. It’s just a poorly thought out and executed character. 5. It’s a soap. Even the best couples break up. Get back together. Marry other ppl. Etc. Sprina having interlopers doesn’t mean they don’t think a couple is viable. I think you being a little newer to the show maybe clouds how you view everyone (I don’t mean that as an insult). Trina had a following before Spencer came back. There’s a reason why ppl liked her and Cam. And ppl like her and Spencer. Hell, even her and her cop friend had shippers for a minute. It’s bc we love HER. Not just who she is in her romantic pairing. Also, soap fandoms are very expressive and competitive. So some of the negativity around couples is rooted in that. So I don’t put much stock into that. I think the soap digest covers. People magazine cover. The sold out in person events and the thriving fan Patreons speak for themselves. Not only are they popular, but the show is actually writing for them. And finally…yes, chunk chunk needs a dna test.

And hell yes to a f*cking DNA test for that baby, because I don't believe baby Ace is a Cassadine at all. And I can’t imagine he gained any leverage for custody with this kidnapping. So I’m hoping that the we get a pivot away from him being so gung ho about raising this kid. But I agree, having this baby in the picture has always been an eyebrow raiser to me. It weighs down the younger set. We literally went from them in high school to them dealing with the judicial system and raising babies…do the writers remember being 20? I guess exams and serial dating wasn’t interesting to them.
I’d also love to see Nikolas back. The writers don’t seem to share our opinion on that bc we haven’t gotten an update on him in weeks. And we’ve barely seen Ava, Austin or his creepy cousin.
I know this maybe way out there, but I am a sucker for fairytales. My favorite, I am an old school classic, Sleeping Beauty. However, when it comes to Spencer and Trina, for me it’s Beauty and the Beast.

I have a bit of a rant coming up so if you don't want to read, you may need to skip this post. I am a fan of Taggert so I had to roll my eyes real hard with the whole Curtis and Trina love going on. Are we supposed to believe that Taggert is a dead beat father now? I hate what the writers are doing here. Taggert is Trina's father and the Taggert we know will not be sitting idle while his baby girls life is at stake....PERIOD!!
Yeah Chunk is cute and all however his father Nik needs to come get his son cause he's really disrupting this SL. Sprina should be be holding each other at this time but cannot because their hands are full with the baby. I know I may sound harsh but hey, I am here for Spencer and Trina and only them!
Not harsh at all. I don’t mind chunk chunk, but he comes attached to esme and for that alone, I need Spencer to wrap up his obsession with custody. I’m hoping this kidnapping will put the nail in the coffin with that but who knows. I’m with you, it’s wild that Nik isn’t on the show. GH has had plenty of time to find a replacement. I think Adam Huss would’ve been happy to collect the check…
Not to go into my own rant, but you have to question the intentions here. I’ve always felt like the show loved Avery and they wanted her primary scene partner to be NAC. But they know they can’t upend Sprina, so they gave her Ace, took Nik out the picture, and made Spencer a surrogate daddy 👎🏾…they did something similar during the trial where her and NAC had a majority of their scenes together bc of his plan to exonerate Trina…anyways, I could go on for days about how poorly developed esme is. Look at how many times she’s appeared on the show since the IP story started, maybe 2-3. And once they had her talking to Austin bc she was concerned her baby wasn’t getting his meds??? But these are the types of scenes you get when you have characters with no connections, no friends, no jobs/school/places to go…
As far as Taggart goes, it’s really the only part of the story I have an issue with. They’ve built him up as being a great father. And in order to fast track this relationship Curtis and Trina, they’ve taken him out of the equation. Some fans will point to the actors illness, but as far as I can tell, he’s healthier and willing to work. So it’s a writing choice. And I’m not here for his erasure. He wouldn’t just back away. At this point, if they don’t want to write for him or even mention him. Then maybe they should just kill the character off. Id rather have him completely gone than not there bc he doesn’t want to be.
Its clear the writers don't really know or haven't revealed yet what Esme will mean to the show. The fact that we haven't gotten a DNA test leaves her connection to the Cassadines and Laura up in the air. Her own family has not been explored since she gave birth much at all. We know who her parents are but I notice she's had only one scene recently (when she gave birth) with Kevin who is her uncle. I mean technically she is a legacy character but the writers aren't building on it and it doesn't look like they're trying to.
@@lisacox3750 A lot to unpack here. I’ll start by saying that I want to make clear that I believe the show is very much interested in telling this love story. Sydney spoke about being told that they were bringing someone in for her. And that they recognized immediately there was potential between her and NAC. It’s believed that Avery was brought in to slow the telling of that story.
A few things to consider:
1. Trina was always going to be recast. They loved the role w/Sydney and invested in the character by building a family around her. She has better adult development than Cam and Joss imo. Lifting her off the canvas would be difficult.
2. NAC has always been supportive of the pairing and that’s clearly helpful, but he doesn’t write the stories. If we’re having an honest conversation some of the attitude about storyline intentions boils down to the “any white woman will do” energy ppl like to give. They claim to like Spencer as a character but believe he should be with joss (who he hasn’t had a meaningful interaction with since reappearing). Or Esme, a character who targeted and abused him mentally. For ppl who fall into those categories, I have nothing to offer bc it’s not about the characters, it’s about optics.
But I’ve always appreciated the support he’s had for the characters and the actresses. He actually said (before she debuted) that Tabyana’s version of Trina would “bring out a different side of Spencer”. Which I loved bc it let me know they were committed to the pairing and it’s evolution.
3. We still have plenty of time to enjoy this story and I’d suggest everyone do that. Tabyana and Nic have talked about their ambitions outside the show. Tabyana has a second book coming out. Nic’s already done a movie, we know he wants to continue exploring his options. We don’t know what their intentions are. But should they chose to leave, I’ll be happy for them and also support recasting.
4. My comments about Esme spoke more to lack of character development for Esme. She can’t stand on her own. That’s why we have the grandmother of her victims financially supporting her. It’s just a poorly thought out and executed character.
5. It’s a soap. Even the best couples break up. Get back together. Marry other ppl. Etc. Sprina having interlopers doesn’t mean they don’t think a couple is viable.
I think you being a little newer to the show maybe clouds how you view everyone (I don’t mean that as an insult). Trina had a following before Spencer came back. There’s a reason why ppl liked her and Cam. And ppl like her and Spencer. Hell, even her and her cop friend had shippers for a minute. It’s bc we love HER. Not just who she is in her romantic pairing. Also, soap fandoms are very expressive and competitive. So some of the negativity around couples is rooted in that. So I don’t put much stock into that. I think the soap digest covers. People magazine cover. The sold out in person events and the thriving fan Patreons speak for themselves. Not only are they popular, but the show is actually writing for them.
And finally…yes, chunk chunk needs a dna test.

I brought up the fandom stuff bc I assumed you were engaged in the online community. Soap communities are intense and someone newer might have some of the experiences I mentioned in the previous message. If you haven’t, that’s great.

@@donelltarver7371 She was never kidnapped. Trina followed Spencer onto the boat of her own volition. I think a lot of us feel the same about them centering the rescue of Trina around Curtis; completely unnecessary 🙄 But a lot of us who ship Sprina can at least agree that he seems to be warming up to Spencer and sees that these two are well beyond just being friends. And hell yes to a f*cking DNA test for that baby, because I don't believe baby Ace is a Cassadine at all. What would like to see happen is for this child custody suit to go the way of the wind, find out who the true father is, kick Esme to the curb, and Trina and Spencer can start their own family 💯👌🏾
