    So are you say bamboo type is better , & is there really a 22 inch long for bed wetting , & is it true that the longer they are the better for heavy wetting from weak bladder control , & how do ppl. prevent shrinking from the very beginning , & does " Etsy " only sell " Rag Pads " ? .

    Can I wash all the cores and fabric together?

      Yes absolutely :-) Only time I would say to be careful is if you have dark colours like a black cord, I would wash that separate from your bamboo, flannel etc :-)

    HI can you iron zorb and bamboo fleece to top stich them? Thank you

      Sandra Ruiz When you get to topstitching they are inside your pad and can be ironed just fine. you can also iron bamboo fleece by itself but you can't iron straight onto zorb 1.

    does air drying also works?

    • @FlowOfTheGoddessClothPads
      @FlowOfTheGoddessClothPads  Před 7 lety +1

      The Moon Cat air drying does not count towards actually prepping/shrinking fabric before sewing. Lots of people don't have dryers and need to air dry it just often means it takes a few extra hot washes compared to what it would with a dryer. Make sure to measure as you go to see when it stops shrinking. When prepping complete pads there is no need for a dryer or high heat as you are just getting the cores up to absorbency :-)

    should hand dyed velour be colour be colour fast on hot?

    • @FlowOfTheGoddessClothPads
      @FlowOfTheGoddessClothPads  Před 7 lety

      the majority of my bamboo and cotton I've had for my own pads has been course fast on hot but I have had the odd piece I have purchased that has leaked a little dye in the prep. it really depends on the dye used and how well the person who dyed it set it. Most bamboo velour that you buy that's been hand dyed (not the factory stuff) will have been very well prepped before dyed and ready to use after a normal wash. hope that helps :-) If you are worried wash it with a piece of white flannel to check.

    you mentioned that zorb fabrics except zorb 1 needs prewashing, won't it make it harder to sew it afterwards or does that only apply to zorb 1?

    • @FlowOfTheGoddessClothPads
      @FlowOfTheGoddessClothPads  Před 7 lety

      The reason zorb one is not recommended for washing is because of the structure of the fabric which is more like a felt without any cover so its needs the other fabric around it to stop it misshaping or breaking down. It also does not shrink. All other zorbs have a different make up and shrink quite dramatically, especially 2 dimples/diamonds. The fabric will be exactly the same after washing just shrunk down. If you are worried about the edges fraying you could always serge or faux serge before your prep :-)

      I'm planning to purchase either zorb 2 dimple or diamond, would you suggest that I wash it other fabrics before cutting and sewing?
      I heard that zorb becomes stiff and hard to sew after being washed.

    • @FlowOfTheGoddessClothPads
      @FlowOfTheGoddessClothPads  Před 7 lety

      Washing zorb 2 should not make it stiff, i have never had this happen myself or heard of anyone else having an issue either. It shrinks quite a bit so you will need at least a couple of hot washes and hot dries. With the exception of zorb 1 all your pad making fabrics will need some degree of prep, natural fibres need to be shrunk and polyesters need a wash to take off any nasties from the factory processing :-)
