Good to see that he’s still racing. He deserves another shot at a championship race.

That's ok, just so long as he won!! The rest doesn't matter!! It could be by daylight or at night 🌃🌉!!

Talented colt that races with a lot of heart. Charlie Appleby gave him a 4 month break after the Dubai Carnival, so this was only his 4th start of the 2023 flat season, but he's won 3 of his 4 starts with wins in the G3 Dubai Millennium Stakes at Meydan, G1 Grosser Dallmayr-Preis in Munich, Germany, and here in the G1 Canadian International Stakes. His only defeat in 2023 was his very creditable 3rd of 14 finish behind Lord North & Danon Beluga in the G1 Dubai Turf on world cup night at Meydan. If there's a knock on this colt, at least for me, it's that he hasn't proven to be nearly as effective racing over 12F as he's been racing over 10F. He has won once at 12F in the states, winning the G3 Jockey Club Derby last season at Aqueduct, but against what was frankly a pretty weak field. The two out of money finishes of Nations Pride's career to date have both been at 12F however, when he finished a well beaten 8th of 17 some 13-1/2 lengths behind Desert Crown in last year's G1 Epsom Derby and 5th of 13 beaten nearly 4 lengths by stablemate Rebel's Romance in last year's G1 Breeders Cup Turf. Even as solid as his form lines have been for sometime, I still couldn't see him winning the BC Turf this year either. Which is why I say it might behoove Charlie Appleby to take him back to England and give him a crack at the G1 Champion Stakes over 10F at Ascot at the end of the month.

Reading the racing Post and Appleby think it's stretching it out a little too much over 12 furlongs so he's not going to the Breeders Cup, but he's not going to the Champion Stakes either, he's going for the Bahrain International Trophy and then he will give some consideration to Hongkong Night.

Why have they disgraced the history of this race by dropping the distance to 10f?

To make it more appealing apparently, just like when they did the same thing to the French Derby, not something I'm in favour off.
