In this video we take a look at how to correctly lubricate your lock.
This is a much shorter version of the main video on this subject.
The main (much longer) video is on this link • London Bars & Birmingh...
This was really useful - so much better than most CZcams videos!
Thanks! You’re a lifesaver. So easy to do.
Glad it helped!
Brilliant thanks so much. Saved me pointlessly buying a new lock
Glad it helped
Solved the problem immediately!
What happened to yours ?
Same here - the little stick out bit goes stiff unless you wiggle it
Thanks. Very helpful.
glad it helped
You say WD40 but others say only use graphite powder! The strike plate on my door needs a very firm push so I think it's probably a badly hung door but I'd rather try to lubricate it first. The lock is only 6 months old so I will follow your instructions and see what happens.
how did you get on?
Thank you for the advice. The latch on my ERA stopped working and when I took the plate off, I discovered the spring lying loose. Do you know where I can get a replacement spring? Sorry, I know its a noddy request but simple to replace rather than buy a brand new one. Thanks in advance.

If I were you I would contact the manufacturer and make a lot of noise, goo.gl/maps/5o3WGcFHiALcKqn76
@@LondonLocksmiths Thank you!
This exact lock has just jammed on me, I can move the handle in both directions a little but then it just jams and won't move any further, I can't open it internally with the key or from outside with the key. I assume my option now is to call out a local locksmith or is there a way to free it somehow?
If I were you I would contact the manufacturer and make a lot of noise, suggest they send a locksmith to sort it at their expense goo.gl/maps/5o3WGcFHiALcKqn76
Oh no! Mine has started to bang when I try and close the door from outside, is it still salvageable? Knew I should have gone with Yale
probably too late I'm afraid
Why WD40? It’s a water dispersant that will gunk up and become very sticky over time. Surely dry graphite or silicone is better?
Hi, I'm going by my 41 years as a locksmith, I have only ever had trouble with customers who have used graphite or believe it or not three-in-one oil! WD40 just works and it works well.
Hiii
Can i fit this night latch lock in the upvc frame whose thickness is 70 mm ??
Sorry no, this is for wooden doors only. Your PVCu door will have a specific lock mechanism installed at the factory.
I don’t recommend this lock to anyone
I bought the gold version for all my new flats
Every single 1 failed over a course of 6-18 months
They are total crap and not cheap!
I can’t fit new locks of another brand now because it will totally ruin my very costly doors
