- This I was hoping would be a simple job on a simple single ended pre-amp.
Fault description was that one channel had no audio.
How hard could it be? Even without the diagram, one can simply compare equivalent places in both channels to work out where the signal disappears.
But... I have no power to half of the unit and hence it does not work at all.
Should there be some kind of link fitted to the Hi-Cap(acity) socket to send 24V to the rest of the preamp?
Anyone out the with the answer or even better, with the circuit diagram would be very welcome to provide answers. - Věda a technologie
Hi, I have a NAC 72 which is very similar, I use a lab power supply with twin 24 v outputs, because according to naim it works better by separating the voltage that powers the audio circuits and the logic circuits(relays and naim led), but in practice the two 24v inputs can be tied together
I have the same problem in a NAC72!
I have had Naim equipment in the past and I'm sure there are shorting plugs that should be fitted to the PSU sockets when you're not using a Hi-Cap/Flat-Cap.
I use a Hi-Cap and I have the same problem in my NAC72!
You do not appear to have the necessary five pin DIN blanking plug fitted. It is easy enough to make one up - just find a five pin 240 degree DIN plug and connect the two power pins together. Problem solved! Or, buy a proper NAIM blanking plug.
I just used a crock clip to join the two supplies together inside of the unit. Originally, when I was uploading the video I wasn't sure this was the right thing to do, but soon after I worked out what Naim was doing.
