  • The Wx has not been cooperating and I have not met the minimums for my solo exams in the past couple flights, so we are doing some low level circuits and flying to Area Flevopolder for low level flight and preparatory landing practice.
    This video is a perfect example of what a student can expect from an instructor. As we depart the runway and climb to over 100 feet, he pulls the throttle to simulate an engine failure and waits for my reaction.
    I acted appropriately implementing the EFATO checklist and planning on landing back on the runway available. Lelystad has a relatively long runway.

    Dont reduce engine power if no place to land in front when low. I used to teach 50 feet partial engine fails on Cherokees when 1990's CFI years. 4,600 feet runway.
