    Hi all, this is a video from a series we've filmed in partnership with our Govberg-side OEM brands rather than our Watchbox pre-owned inventory. The style is different by request of our parters; the watches are not for sale online but are available through our Govberg Jewelers locations.

      A little hiccup at 5:51. I doubt that movement is 12.23mm thick. :)

      @the1916companywatchreviews  Před 6 lety +1

      It's been brought to my attention: 2.23mm is the correct figure. Unfortunately, it was a casualty of the sheer production rate these days.

    I've got a soft spot for that movement. It's titanium version is definitely the best looking Octo in my humble opinion.

      Bulgari operates independently of the watch collective inside LVMH, and the result has been serious investment in products like this; independence for designers and engineers is a good thing.

    That is not my type of taste for timepiece but I really must say is nicely done up with details. The movement is a killer..... gosh!

    So many people think this think will snap like a twig but 5-6 mm thick solid steel/gold/titanium are not easy to bend by hand

    I like the watch. Probably would pick the Ti or SS version though.

      I'd go with the titanium. The bracelet is worth the premium for its comfort and the longevity of metal. This is one of the few watches that I'd prefer to own on a bracelet when a strap option is available.

    It would look spectacular with a black dial

    • @djrom66
      @djrom66 Před 2 lety +1

      Why, when the dial is made out of rose gold, just like the rest of the watch? 🤔. That’s like wearing brown shoes with a blue suit. 🙄

    The hollow underside of the bracelet has got to be uncomfortable on the wrist and create a ton of pressure points, much like some skeleton style deployment clasps.

    • @the1916companywatchreviews
      @the1916companywatchreviews  Před 6 lety +2

      I was surprised on this front; you're not aware of it on the wrist. The key is not wearing the bracelet at strangulation-levels of tightness; leave an extra link in the chain.

      I figured as much. Great video as usual. You definitely get less technical in these videos. I gather that the Govberg channel is more for the wealthy clients that don't know a whole lot about watches and just want a nice piece of jewelry as a status symbol(for example, you bother to explain that a manually wound PAM560 can, in fact, be manually wound in the first crown position on that channel), whereas the Watchbox channels are more enthusiast oriented. czcams.com/video/-Fwc9bsBHqw/video.html

    great build quality, fantastic movement... but it won the Oscars for over-hype 😂... again the thin ideology leaves this looking and possibly materially too thin! In my opinion, pressure on that case won't be good.

    BVLGARI is unsellable on the secondhand market..

    • @the1916companywatchreviews
      @the1916companywatchreviews  Před 6 lety +9

      Good buys happen on the pre-owned market. Bulgari has made an impressive watch, and if you have reservations, consider the titanium or steel versions. If a new example isn't in the cards, I'd consider them seriously as a second owner. Unlike the Nautilus or Royal Oak - which are stronger plays from a branding perspective - Bulgari has invested real money in the Octo line over the last four years.

      Putra Ramadhan Yeah but it's better not to loose most of your money that's why you buy Rolex or Patek..

    • @paceyombex
      @paceyombex Před 6 lety +4

      It might be better, but still debatable. In the end, watch is not a great investment, that is why you should buy the piece that you really desire, the piece that moves your heart. The best thing in life is sometimes illogical, but as long as you love it, it is perfectly fine. If you want to invest, buy property or stock.

      I'm neither - or so they tell me. But I'd wear this. Tons of more heralded watches have less to their build, finish, and spec. Because Bulgari is known as a jewelry brand, this isn't a watch to buy if the approval of others guides the purchase.
