I would suggest using 3” schedule 80 PVC for the bunkers that will help with the side to side movement. Just adjust them to fit in the channels under the boat. It’ll be easier to slide the kayak onto the trailer. Also didn’t see you mention the axles. Did you check the bearings and grease them?

That's not a bad idea. And for now I checked them for side to side play and after 20min down the highway they where still cool to the touch. I'll probably end up doing them though just for the peace of mind

that is going to be a nice trailer.. it should work out good for you.. Those are some pretty awesome decals.. great video.. I also think once you get the straps across it and tied down it shouldn't move side to side

Great idea. Mine is heavy too. And a pain to load/unload and set up.
I wouldn't go with roller at the front tho. As it wouldn't be rolling. They usually go at the back to ease it on. A sloped bit of wood with a nylon pad would work better I think, or a v for the nose got hold it firm . (Chopping boards are cheap)

Edit. I thought you was going to purchase one. Should of watched it all first lol. If the nose moves this is probably why. If it dont I'm am idiot and you should ignore me 😂😂 (hindsight aye)

@Alberthoward3right9up lol no worries, it's kind of just a experiment/test and trial thing as it comes along.

@@okiepokiefishn yeah same with mine mate. I have a few vids too. I'm on a limited budget. And mounted a minnkota on my 600 dollar fishing paddle yak. My video production is shit tho. 🤣. I have an electric boat winch and pulleys to put mine up into the roof of my little shed too.

How far down the road did you get before the kayak bounced and fell into the middle. I'm only about 2 minutes into the video.
If you didn't... I suggest you run straps across the bunks to support the kayak so it doesn't fall into the middle

So far it's held up. I've got maybe 8 hrs now of combined highway driving back and forth to the lakes .been over bumps , rough spots and even cattle guards. Had the the trailer bounce around a bit. Everytime though the kayak hasn't moved an inch or appear like it would.

I guess until it does lol. Honestly my worry has been it shifting over into the tire melting a massive hole on the side . So far though it's been smooth sailing
