No Time to Die is the 25th Bond film in the official series and the fifth and final appearance by Daniel Craig as James Bond. The film also starred Lashana Lynch, Rami Malek, Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Christoph Waltz, and Ralph Fiennes. This was an extremely well made Bond film which I expected from director Cary Joji Fukunaga (True Detective) with some excellent action sequences, superb cinematography and score by Hans Zimmer. Christoph Waltz and Rami Malik are both excellent actors but the film didn’t give them sufficient scope to provide memorable Bond villain performances and as a long-time Bond fan ultimately the ending of the film was very disappointing.
The cars and vehicles feature prominently in the film including the Aston Martin DB5 which makes a welcome return in an action-packed sequence chase sequence through the picturesque streets of Matera, Italy, being pursued by several Spectre Agents. Daniel Craig did some of the actual driving during the key action sequence in the San Giovanni Battista Square including doing a 360 degree donut!
The vehicles were filmed at the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu in Hampshire, England. The exhibition opened in 2021.
Beaulieu also displays over 285 cars in the National Motor Museum, World of Top Gear, On Screen Cars. You can also ride on a ‘skytrain’ monorail visit Palace House, Beaulieu Abbey, the Secret Army Exhibition and explore the beautiful gardens.
