    By 2:45 in the video I've learned everything I need to know and I'm already animating my own custom locomotions. Thank-you so much!
    I saw Anonymous's little e-girls and e-boys with them sitting on the floor and I had to replace my prone animation with that.

    This is fantastic. New to Unity and hate the default running animation. Definitely gonna compare the default 6 point locomotion with the vrcsdk3 example locomotion and also wetcat's locomotion. The crouching and prone stuff is icing on the cake. Thank you for making this!

    So what if you want to add different animations to different avatars? I can't seem to change some of the locomotion trees for different avatars. Specifically the 'prone to couch VR' option. I want different avatars to have different poses but it just copies over the same poses to when I add this onto new avatars.

    I can't tell if this is just half body nature or something else, but when I playspace down into prone animation it doesn't seem to execute the way it does in the preview. I have one of those laying down animations for prone but the legs never seem to lay flat.

    @Ask Amber
    Do you think you could make a video on how to make an avatar use projectiles in Avatar 3.0?
    Like throwing a spear, firing an arrow from a bow, or shooting shell out of a cannon?
    Videos on using conditions and animating certain toggles on specific subject matter is scarce or outdated.
    Also, what’s the application you use to make avatar clothing in some of your videos? I would like to learn how to begin using that!

    Problem, so I added in my idle pose into EVERYWHERE in the new locomotion that had the proxy stand still anim but for some reason in game it shows for a few moments and then immediately goes back to the default VRchat pose. Any tips?

  • @HikikomoriDev
    @HikikomoriDev Před rokem

    For some reason it din't work for me, I modified the standing animation a little and then dropped it back to the blend tree onto the base layer on the avatar descriptor and nothing happened, in fact it broke the face gestures in the face-mood on my vrm :(

  • @dariendark7263
    @dariendark7263 Před 2 lety

    ok, so I replaced the idle animation to fix my avatars arm position, but oddly enough it looks great for exactly 3 seconds, before his feet move backwards and together making him look hunched over, has anyone had this issue, and if so, how did you fix it?

    Hey, could you do a tutorial on how to make multiple prone animations? I once saw this avatar that had like 4 of them and you could toggle betweeen them and I wonder how they made it and really want to implement it in my own avatar.

      Personally I made my prone animations emotes and I update my view with temporary pose space. If you want to have multiple prone animations you could create an int parameter that toggles between different prone animation trees, then toggle the int value in your avatar's expression menu.

    Amazing tutorial!
    But I have one problem with my avatar while following the video. Everythng works as expected in unity. When I play on oculus, the animations work but the body sinks through the floor when I sit. Is there a way to keep the body above the ground when I sit and lay down?

    • @Xmechanisator
      @Xmechanisator Před 2 lety

      thats a difficult one. While the feet within half body are controlled by vrchats IK, you hips are only to some degree. If you go too low VRChats IK tries to maintain the animation as good as it can and since spine+chest dont really bend in vrchat, they push your hips into the ground.

    Very much needed to know about that Locomotion Layer Fix lol. Quick off topic question though, is it possible to import the newest 3.0 sdk into the same project as the old one, or will I have to create a new one and redo all of my other models?

    • @AskAmberOfficial
      @AskAmberOfficial  Před 3 lety +1

      If it's from an older 3.0 to a newer version of 3.0 then you _should_ be fine and it will most likely not cause any issues, but I'd back up your project just in case something breaks. 2.0 to 3.0 won't work however. You'll have to redo the 2.0 to 3.0 :)

    I ran into a problem using this, sometimes when I jump it doesnt do the jump animation but at other times it does, sometimes when i jump in the air and walk forward it just does the walking forward animation in the air instead of continuing to do the jump animation.

    • @Xmechanisator
      @Xmechanisator Před 2 lety

      hey, if you are using the current version 5.06, i made it that it sort of checks for false jumps (walking up and down stairs), so it doesnt repeat a landing animations. If you spam space or moving up ramps/stairs you might be within the "false jump" window.

    • @dipsithecreeper

      @@Xmechanisator i was planning to switch to default locomotion because of this mechanic. also, i noticed that my head isn't tracking when I'm prone, i can change the options to track my head again but the prone animation doesn't fully finish, it looks weird and stuff, well you probably get it... any fixes?

    • @Xmechanisator
      @Xmechanisator Před 2 lety

      @@dipsithecreeper the pose one is potentially the pose itself not being properly made to vrchats needs. The head has to be in the 0,0 area, otherwise vrchat will move your head resulting in unwanted folding of the avi. Regarding jumping, the groundflapdetection layer has the speeds set, meaning if you set the speeds of ground-solid and ground-sanity-check to 1, it will reduce the cooldown for jump animations

    You lost me right at the very beginning, because while i DO have VRC SDK at the top of my window that obviously enables me to build & publish my avatars to VRChat, I do NOT on the other hand have a VRCSDK folder that exists within my Assets. So, you miiiiiiight want go over as to why that might be the case in the video or something, so that way people will know. Otherwise, it just renders this whole tutorial meaningless for those people. Because of this, I can't get any further than a minute in this video.
