Love Jules! So glad they expanded their search and found a home. You have to wonder if anyone had tried to explain how expensive Oxfordshire is.

The mystery house was so amazing, but I totally get their decision. No garden and with her tall husband it's not practical.
I've liked all of the houses shown and as usual really enjoyed the episode. Jules is such a wonderful presenter and the couple was precious - lying on the floor to "feel" the place.☺️
    Thanks for sharing!

What a pleasant program, with real enthusiasm from the househunters and beautiful properties with reasonable compromises. I would have made a run at house #2 if I were in their shoes.

I also love Autogrill in Italy and insist we stop at each one we come across. Always good food, coffee and yummy bargains. I especially love the ones that reach to either side of the auto strands.

None of these worked. Need a much better budget or look for something more average. And an 1 1/2-hour train ride to work, no thanks.

House 3 is beautiful but totally impractical. What developer would not enclose that back patio area in a high fence for privacy. It’s far too open at that price point and parking in front of your neighbors garden as well. And the same price as house 1 which has garden and driveway.

  • @xr6lad

How is this about Rutland? Oxfordshire ISN’T Rutland which is further north. This is mistitled.

I can’t begin to count the times, when watching this program, I wished the buyer(s) merely wanted a small, charming cottage with a small flower garden to relax outside-I wish that a humble, modest home was enough. The mini mansions they show, while beautiful, are not something I would wager most viewers could ever hope to purchase. I’m happy for those buyers who have the means to purchase a huge, expensive property. I have to confess though that when a wealthy buyer’s attitude is one of being accustomed to the advantages that money brings, I feel my bristles go up a bit. Is it just me? If I’m just being an ass, I’ll own it. These are challenging times we’re living in, especially for those who must get by on a low income. Makes a person want to cut the valve stems on the tires of luxury cars parked at the grocery store. Yes, I’m being an ass. Sorry everyone.

Agree with you. I find most of the prospective we-want-a-home-in-the-country buyers are somewhat entitled prats.

Not sure about England, but in the U.S., having a decent sized home in a fairly peaceful setting used to be quite do-able for working class families with one income. It's our governments and banks that have inflated assets while betraying our industries and workers. We needn't resent wealthier people's natural desire to get a good home. We should just find a way to fix the continual plundering of OUR countries by our "leaders."

Those people could find a home themselves. The ones that really need help are those with a small budget.....

I never understand why they ask for a budget, and then trample all over it! It's an exercise in futility. Not everyone has half a million pounds. They seem to find a place to live.

    • @xr6lad

I laugh when they choose a budget then when shown a home at the price complain it’s too expensive or actual want something cheaper.

Why do you always show homes above their budget. Extremely irritating.
