I am a priest of the diocese of Honolulu. Saint Damien’s intercession and example has helped generations of priests understand the radical self-giving nature of the priesthood. He was a true pastor. He made the people of Kalawao his own family. Throughout his time on Molokai, he addressed his parishioners with the phrase, "We Lepers." Pray for more priests like Father Damien.
