Remember when preordering a game usually meant like a $5 discount or a bunch of free extras... now ubisoft thinks people should pay $130 for the same benefit...
The prices of premium versions is ridiculous.
I only pre-order if it's from a proven studio (Santa Monica, Naughy Dog, Rock Star) that very rarely put out duffers. And then only if there are some tangible physical extras (steel book, art cards etc) .
It was never a $5 discount. It was a $5 reservation fee and then you payed the remaining $55 when the game released. But I do miss getting cool preorder exclusives

I hope the combat will get complete overhaul. I didn't enjoy the combat. The learning curve/mechanics were poorly designed. Hopefully, they will expand upon it.
Pre-orders serve no real purpose for the consumer/player anymore.
Before this digital age, it made sense. You guaranteed your physical copy in store when stores could quickly run out of launch day stock.
Today it makes no sense other than to, possibly, show support for a title before launch.

we need Kratos to stop being a bitch. Trying to play GoWR, the plot was driven by him ignoring Atreus and overall just being a bitch. The entire time I played (which I didnt finish because I thought it was that bad), I was just like come on Kratos, lets show these Norse Gods who we are, lets show them who fucked up the Greek Pantheon. but nope.
No. Then Kratos is no longer special. Kratos should always be stinger the his son and stronger then the audience realizes.
no. strength is kratos' character trait. kratos literally means power in Greek. atreus has his own traits like language and magic. god of war should've died with 3. the reboots didn't do anything substantial enough to warrant the name god of war.

Kingdom Come deliverance never really got my attention because of the lack of fantasy elements, but when I decided to play it I fell in love. I am really happy to hear that something kingdom come-like is on the way.
Probably the best news this year. I have waited forever.
Might even spawn a new genre of games. Come-likes.
The lack of fantasy elements is why my dad was so heavily into it. He was hardcore into the SCA and KC:D was his dream game. He got a PS4 just to play that game and he played it religiously from the day it dropped until the day he did.
It's one of my Top 10 games of all time and I've been gaming since the 90s can't wait till next week's reveal

Whatever they're doing, if they are currently working on a new GoW I hope they will keep the same mechanics as GoW 2018 and Ragnarok. As much as I loved GoW 1,2 and 3, the 2018 was something special and Ragnarok kinda left me wanting more!!
The game "Godfall" got a lot of hate but the developers basically took every aspect from the GOW 2018 game and even made some things better tho from a pure gameplay / comabt view Godfall is way more fleshed out. And the story / voice acting ist pretty decent too not smth we have never seen before but good if u can get it for max 20€/$ u are totally fine (u probably can get it for 5-12 bucks these days)
Preordering made sense when everything was physical and there was quite literally a limited amount of copies available at stores. That being said, even in 2018 my local GAME ran out of copies of rdr2

Also It’s hilarious how Star Wars Outlaws even has payment plans for the higher editions. Ubisoft knew they were charging a lot for this game.

Went through kingdom come again about a month ago, great timing.
Star Wars Outlaws is from the studio behind The Division. Therefore, my expectations shall remain low.
Massive Games site seems more like a political activist group site than a game dev studio site.
I loved Division, but i still have low interest in Outlaws. looks boring to me based on the little we've seen.
@hoofhearted4 it looks like jedi fallen order reskined. Single player with a blaster instead as main weapon and a little creature as a companion instead of a droid.
Has anyone seen the horrible character model? They took a beautiful actress and uglified her mo-capped face. It makes zero sense… until you look into the “consulting” firm hired to make sure the game was “inclusive”

I feel that one of the only ways gow can continue with Kratos is if there’s a pretty big time skip where something happens like Atreus getting into some shit as a full fledged god and Kratos needs to step in.

What was missing from the Triple I Initiative announcements was the 'Shadow of Doubt' sniper assassin trailer. 'Shadow of Doubt' is shaping up to be one of the most unique and ambitious games I have ever played.
From what I heard, this was suppose to be their last G.O.W game, let Kratos have his happy ending.
They said it was the last GoW game in the Norse setting, not necessarily the last GoW game in general.
I don't normally pre order games, especially digital games. But I felt an odd compulsion to pre order Stellar Blade. Bring on the comments 😂 I enjoyed the demo. So I purchased the digital deluxe version 🤣
Supporting the devs is the one/only reason to pre-order. Shift up, it's their first major game.

Outlaws looks like crap and they know it, so legal told them to gouge everybody as much as possible. Common story these days: don't ask questions, just consume product.

Haven't played Valhalla DLC for GoW but they definitely set it up so Atreus can have the reigns passed to him. He's a more versatile character and his destiny could lead to a lot of interesting directions for the franchise. Loki can shapeshift so they could still go into many different playstyles if they wanted to explore that
What happened to preordering ultimate edition of games and getting cool physical items? Like statues and bags and other goodies. Digital stuff don't really mean squat especially with Ubisoft. You'll loose access to it years down the road.
Ubisoft is like McDonalds. McDonalds could make something as wrechid as Hagis. But when you taste that organ meat, you still know that it was from McDonalds. Even that could be McDonalized. They'll even sell their new McHagis for a limited time.
The other thing that you feel is the sickness after paying Ubisoft to feed you McHagis.
I really want a reboot/remake. I think they've done all they could with the newer story line. But getting to see the Greek story told from a new perspective could be really nice.
I agree on the pre-order stance, it used to mean something with physical copies as you would then be guarenteed a copy of the game on day 1 but now with so many digital options it isnt worth it. Ever since Cyber Punk I havent pre-order a game, usually wait a month or two to allow the initial patches to happen and hopefully some kind of discount. Used to get fomo but nowadays ill happily wait!

My biggest red flags for any game promotion. Each on there own is bad, when when all together practically guarantee a terrible game banking on pre-orders.
-Promoting the graphics significantly more than anything else
-3 Days early access
-No demo or early review for critics
-When it's clearly a live service but they refuse to acknowledge it
Kingdom come was such a uniquely fun game. The journey from a boy who can’t cut down a stick of wood to a character that was taking down large groups of warriors with ease was so fun.
d1 vet here. loved d1 and still love and play d2, super excited for final shape and a potential d3. lots of cool things being added in final shape and d3 has so much potential with whats in the game currently, hopefully bungie nails it

There is no logical reason for anyone to pre-order games. Even less when it comes to Ubisoft games when you know for sure that in a few months they’re 70% off.

Bungie broke their own “don’t overdeliver” rule and completely amazed us in the Destiny 2 community with their livestream. Such an exciting time to get back into Destiny and enjoy a hopefully fantastic Final Shape expansion.

I'd like to see Kratos in a position of authority, ruling over a people, having to defend those people. Santa Monica has (in my opinion) been pretty clearly focusing Kratos' character arc on becoming a leader and I feel like with the end of Valhalla, this is a natural next step. That being said, I do hope that we get kind of a dual story, where we play as Atreus in his own adventure while Kratos deals with stuff back home. By the end of the game I'd love to see a reuniting with Atreus coming back at "the last hour" in some big way to help Kratos overcome some foe.
It'd be cool to see them do something new for the next God of War, like Greek mythology maybe!

Outlaws just looks cringe, every ad for it is just pushing the main character as "everyone's favorite new scoundrel." The fact that it's referring to a brunette from Lucas film is also not a good sign.
