  • Destiny 3 is potentially on the horizon. But what will happen in Bungie's next mainline Destiny game? Who will the major enemy be? What are we likely to be doing? Where will we go? What will the story be? In this video, I'm working to answer what's going on with Destiny 3 and whether we'll be facing the Ahamkara, Nezarec or the Hive God Xivu Arath as our leading villain.

Considering how little we’ve actually seen of them and how large they loom over the future, I think the Vex are the most logical main enemy faction for Destiny 3. I can see us helping Caitel rise to her throne, finding a new home for the Eliksni, finishing off, or at least creating a non-aggression pact with Savathun and Xivu-Arath, but none of those really seems to fit a full scale, “call all Guardians” or type of conflict in the same way a final confrontation with the Vex would be.

I feel like the problem with the vex is that they don't have personalities, so it's way harder to make an interesting story around them. Honestly that would be great if destiny did a better job of in game lore. I’ve never completed a full expansion only got about 500 hour in destiny 2 and 400 of that was in one season. But destiny 2 has major issues. There so much lore entire expansions are missing, you feel like your always missing something, and for people who haven’t played several expansions that’s a lot of info. The game also does really bad with guns, I always get to max lvl and then I’m like okay now what? What guns should I be going for, how much better it a x10 wep compared to normal and so on and so on. Then you get to end game content, doing nightmares and raids and trials how the hell do you even get into it. Doing everything through discords seems so convoluted. Even the grouping system while doing that seems unnecessarily hard. Destiny 2 just isn’t a game you can just pick up, you need a million different outside things to be able to play content.
500 hours and I’ve never done trials, I’ve done one raid that people then just made into a farm of the first part and kept repeating, no idea on what guns are good, how to get them, what traits are what, it’s all just convoluted and wierd.
Destiny 2 is a great game, but doesn’t attract new players and the ones it does it loses because of all the things above and all the others I haven’t written.

I believe that Clovis Bray will be a great villain for the future, mainly due to issues related to the VEX, his hatred for the guardians, the traveler and his aspirations to become a God. Being an AI in fact, Clovis, could at one time or another escape into the VEX network and become a big problem, in addition to the factor having created the EXOs from a mixture of VEX and "darkness", his studies could even cause the VEX create a new division where they can actually manipulate Light and Dark as basic elements of the universe to ensure the survival of the species.

There is much more for the vex to offer to us as an enemy and I think it would be really cool to see, and they’re just my favourite faction so I always love anything that they’re apart of.

I really like the idea of 7 vengeful Ahamkara being aligned against the 7 of Riven's brood. Even better if you blur the lines- have some of Riven's clutch break away from Mara, have their own feelings about being raised by their broodmother's jailer. And have some of the escapees be more sympathetic- one could be like Taranis, or they could simply wish to be left alone and not come back to fight us.
There's a lot of potential there, but it would necessitate fleshing out entirley new Ahamkara characters, which is a lot for one plotline even were it to expand beyond an initial campaign with some of them being important later on.

I've got a personal theory storyline that I have that's not likely to be the case. It would take a while, but I'll summarize. Sorry for length.
-it gets confirmed the Ascendant Plane was the Garden and it's just an empty husk of what it was.
-Traveler/Veil was a type of dimension-style creation engine (like a dimensional terraformer) connected to the Ascendant Plane.
-Their separations split caused an implosion/explosion that devastated and separated matter/consciousness within the Ascendant plane, while causing the Big Bang on the other side flooded with remnants of the Garden and formed dimensional pockets. (Read The Anomaly lore)
-The Deep is a pocket that was created and filled with countless consciousnesses of the Ascendant Plane that swirled and became one/a few powerful beings without material form. They told the Witness how to become what they are.
-The Distributary is a pocket of matter and potential, but had no minds or consciousnesses to form and create. Just a void until human consciousnesses entered. Mara being the first to awaken, form, set rules, etc.
-The Witness is stopped from using the Pale Heart to amplify and send out the Deathsong in place of the Song of Life/Creation. But not before his actual purpose is done. The Deep mind(s) manipulated the Witness, the true Final Shape the Deep wants is crossing and having their own final shape, a body/bodies, a true form of Material existence.
-The loop curse in the Dreaming City will be ended and Taken will enter the Distributary. We'll enter and learn that when Mara left it allowed the Deep to whisper in. After Mara left everything went downhill fast.
Civil wars broke out, famine, factions, and after a too long a period, the pocket universe itself showed signs of slowly breaking down. Mara was the first in, the first mind, billions of years waited until she made form and rule, structure was her existence. When she left, she took the power of HER creation universe with her. While there she was like a battery pack with a million outlets that kept her strength low, but started to fill once she left.. She'll need to return and we help her try to save and stabilize the Distributary before collapse.
A lot more but I've said too much already.
Too weird? Not weird enough? Thoughts?
Much love and have a good one.

      @demonsorrows Před 22 dny

Also, another an alternative path idea for the hiding Ahamkara (crazy just for fun.)
During The Hunt, an Awoken talking to himself or to another about his home half-hearted wished to see their family or introduce their team member(s) to the fam and beauty of their home back in the Distributary.
An Ahamkara nearby created an alternative means to enter, the Guardians went in wondering what it was and the Ahamkara informed the rest. They entered into the Distributary behind them and closed the portal to hide in the pocket dimension where no other could sense them.
When we enter, we discover their influence and wishes caused problems, deaths, accusations, factions formed, civil war, power hungry divisions with Ahamkara acting as figureheads. They're repopulating their numbers and feasting.

-Cabal Warbeast raid/strike boss. like Dukino's Mom or Skagzilla in Borderlands, not pleasure gardens
    -exploring beyond the solar system
-Evil Guardian race (a sect of guardians who abandoned Eris and Elsie's guidance with stasis during Beyond light and embraced the dark future in the unveiling(?) lore book)
-the ahamkara eggs we saved for riven and the one from Season of the witch grow up and lend us a small bit of power (like getting Seasonal Artifact Version 2 or somethin crazy, or granting season of wish cards/season of deep ahsa gifts over a wider area of the game)
-someone who is equal in power to lore accurate guardians, who also wields light and dark, who is also NOT AN ALLY (for a standoff equal to Goku and Vegeta)
-vex enemy/boss with a voice. The vex need an oryx or a calus.
-bungie to give Fastball the Traction treatment and just fold that fucking mod into our gameplay by default. i played on console for half a decade, Traction was NECESSARY to feel good with movement, having grenades be thrown like cornhole sacks is a slap in the face to what it means to be a guardian

In the past humanity was beginning to expand through the stars in the golden age, and after this major threat, we might be able to do the same thing again. Lysander’s sue for peace could be entirely genuine. The government he rebelled against is effectively no more. The 7 headed structure is down to 2 military leaders who are allied with the Awoken and sects of the Cabal and Eliksni

Honestly I would like to see the main plot be centered around the Ahamkara but not in the normal: "Go kill the big bad" kind of story. Like you said, they're shapeshifters, so I like the idea of a single Ahamkara infiltrating the tower akin to Savathun but different enough to fool the tower. After that, it becomes more of a chess match than a fight. Maybe in order to get a leg up on the dragons, we sacrifice The Moon before striking at one of their clutches in retaliation. Either that or we potentially end up tricking one of the Ahamkara into giving up "classified" information about the location of a different Ahamkara, to which we then go and slay it from the deception. I think a more clandestine and wetwork-like approach to that story would work wonders.

The 7 deadly sins of Ahamkara - I'd not be surprised by such a trope. Could be an interesting plot too.

I like the concept of us potentially going against ourselves from a dark timeline via time travel with the crafting thing as i have an idea for retaking and rebuilding torobatl by getting memories of it from other timelines. Now this shouldn't be a main enemy but it would be fun as a one time threat

I would love to see at the end of the final shape there is a big burst of light power sending ghosts all over the universe and in D3 we get more race options for our gaurdian like Cabal, and Eliksni or maybe Hive too
