- A study reveals that six in 10 businesses in the Asia Pacific believe they will lose opportunities if they do not pay a bribe, while eight in 10 say giving kickbacks increases their chances of landing plum contracts. The study is by the Association of Chartered Accountants (ACCA), a global body. The study's lead author, Jason Piper from ACCA, discusses the challenges businesses face when it comes to operating in different parts of the world. He also delved deeper into whether corruption is becoming more rampant.
So high salary doesn’t mean no corruption
It’s called a gift in China , even teachers , doctors etc expect it as well.
There were so many unless & unnecessary structures built around our heartland recently. Who suggested those unthoughtful designs and were they built for the very same reasons here?
The July scandals add to myriad of known troubles. While each of these issues individually might not carry significant weight, their collective presence casts a shadow over the PAP’s reputation for incorruptibility.
Rubbish PM Lee will need to clean up his party’s act and find a more convincing assurance of integrity than ‘ownself check ownself’.
It’s no surprise that they bring their best smirk to Parliament - as the Opposition only knows too well.
Even Governments do it … it’s done usually under the Cloak of Philanthropy, Consultancy , Aid etc 😂
Under Sg law, we all know the consequences even committed overseas.
Americans describe them as "facilitating payments."
