  • Sp4zie and his CG friends were once the kings of old-school League content, with their iconic "Epic Moments" series being one of the most beloved content creation groups in the scene. Now, they are nowhere to be seen. Nearly a decade later, we have to wonder - What Happened to Sp4zie?

    Honestly, to me, Spazie is the ultimate success story of league content, especially compared to how many other content creators ended up. He had a ton of success with League content on youtube, but when it started to affect his mental health, he sought help and prioritized his well-being over his content: switched to focus more on streaming, transitioned away from League, stopped letting his success be defined by his views and subscriber numbers, and still kept true to his style, and as a result, he's still making a living doing something he loves, maintaining a loyal fanbase while seemingly being in a really good place mentally. He still has the same quirky, maybe childish, sense of humour that some might not find appealing, but he's also super open and mature about irl stuff like relationship advice and mental health, which is super refreshing.

    I'll be honest. It's hard to here you say "he fell off" and "he's never going to have the same level of viewership". Sp4zie is a GOAT content creator and has always been. The video is accurate enough even if it's a big exaggerated in some places. The main thing that I would like to add is that Sp4zie's "fall from grace" was simply a byproduct of his choice. He realized that being a big youtuber wasn't giving him fulfillment and it was affecting his mental health. That's why he turn to variety streaming and content creation. As someone else mentioned, he's doing pretty damn well for himself with those avenue streams. It was not a fall as much as it was a calculated risk that paid off for him in the long run

  • @Psychadelico
    @Psychadelico Před 10 měsíci +74

    It's pretty simple. Sp4zie's videos always were about having fun in League. Short high quality videos. However, the youtube landscape regarding League evolved to streams highlights, and also the content people looked for was about being the best at the game, not having fun on it. Not only that, as any youtuber who has a "main game", if they stop playing it, most of the fanbase is going to leave. Be that as it may, I recommend everyone to subscribe to him. He's as wholesome as can be and genuinely cares about his audience. His content is still really great, IMO :)

    Its interesting to see a title like "What happened to Sp4zie?" when I'm still watching him and he seems to still thoroughly enjoy making content and streaming. But yeah I mean he did make a 1 mil subscriber video 7 years ago and can still hit that mark so to everybody who used to watch him "he fell off" probably sounds accurate. He's still as entertaining as ever to me though

I was burned out and started playing more chill single player games that's the progression once you hit 30+ but he is still doing ok on CZcams and still has and active fan base. Not all channels become Mr. Beast channels and that fine but over all of these years he's still the happy go lucky guy that plays games and keep him approach to CZcams as humble as possible.

    The framing of this video seems a bit off to me but maybe thats because youre looking at it from a League of Legends personality lense. I think Spazie made an insanely great transformation over the past years. As a content creator as well as a human. He grew into such a respectable, confident, nice kind hearted person and i think the kind of guy he nowadays is, is really admirable. His content has changed and so has his personality but in my opinion not a single change that happened there was negative. I really dont think he fell off. On the contrary. I love his content nowadays and i respect the person behind it. Such a chill and fun guy :)

    I'd like to note that one big reason he fell out of league was the game just got worse for him. The once a year league video was more of an obligation than an actual thing he wanted to do. He's changed his tune since then. Now he plays all kinds of dumb games which is pretty damn funny since some of these games are infuriatingly tedious. I'm glad I stuck with watching him because he's a lot more of a pleasant content creator than that time in his life when his long term girlfriend left him which I'd add further helped in his decline since he was clearly depressed. He stuck with it thankfully and is all the better for it.

    Sp4zie has said himself that he was hit incredibly hard by the change in the youtube algorithm. He's said that youtube stopped promoting his content overnight. This combined with his step down from League content to focus on streaming and variety is what led to his "decline".
    But Sp4zie is still very active on both twitch and youtube and is one of the most genuinly likeable guys on here, with an incredibly wholesome and dedicated fanbase.

    Well the thing is, he never really.. fell of in that regards, atleast not in how I see it.
    as I recall, when his channel started to decline, it was because he said "I don't want to sit and just play League anymore, I will upload vids in the league moments less frequently, but try other games".
    sure he took a hit, but he as an individual didn't struggle anymore with the issue of "just playing for the money".
    Til this day, he uploads videos and streams on twitch, every year on his "I quit league" day, he plays League in memory of what it ment in his career.
    He still tries to maintain a positive relationship with his viewers and have done plenty of things with them in similar fashion to "how the old sp4zie did things" just on stream instead.
    "rename accounts" was a popular thing for a while.

    In 2021 I made some shorts of cool moments, but thats it.
    Spazie is one of the most open and kindest content creators I know. It was obvious he would drop the 1 million subs when stopping with LoL, but he didn't want to make content he is not happy with. Something that many content creators seem to struggle with, as you can see in many of your vids.
