Made this for my family tonight. They all LOVED it!! Thanks!
Super easy , not complicated like other recipes. Thanks
I’m telling y’all add cinnamon and nut Meg to that brown plus syrup on the side it comes out real good
Ham, turkey, and swiss cheese was only way I've seen them for past 50 years
I as well have seen turkey incorporated in a Monte Cristo sandwich.
The best place I got a Monte Cristo sandwich was at the Blue Danube Restaurant at the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland. They had 3 slices of bread, remove the crust, add mayo, gouda cheese, 2 slices honey ham, 2 slices honey turkey, fried on both sides in butter and served with a side of strawberry or grape jelly,
And now you have a new idea to try!
In Texas you can't make chili with beans, and some use swiss chard in oysters Rockefeller instead of spinach, some put carrots in New England clam chowder.
Cooking is not a recipe for a nuclear bomb where there is only one path. Cooking allows variation. Sometimes variation improves an original recipe. Nobody in 2024 is so rigid that you can ONLY use the ingredients "I am comfortable with". You don't like gouda? DON'T USE GOUDA! Actually I think it says a lot about people trying new ways to interpret a recipe. Being locked in the only one you have ever had shows a lack of expression of a cuisine. Very robotic. Cooking can be artful, unless you limit yourself.
@@drk321 I agree totally. Trying different ingredients and varying an original recipe can at times improve a good meal to a great meal. I sprinkle powdered sugar on my Monte Cristo sandwich, I add a little Burgundy wine to my homemade spaghetti sauce, and three different cheeses to a macaroni and cheese dish. Yes, just following a recipe can be good but one can make a recipe "great" with experimentation. I've ruined a few meals by experimentation but it is a learning experience what pairs with what. Thanks for the encouragement to experiment more.
Thank you so much , easy to follow ...no nonsense! 👍❤️
Amazing... I'll try... Thanks
turns out ive been making this for years, thinking i invented it, monte cristo who knew?
Maybe not only Monte Cristo you thought you invented :)
I invented the hotdog....
Yeah right 🙄
Humans are constantly reinventing the wheel without knowing it. You're still inventive.
You really don’t need three eggs for an eggwash I promise
Egg wash? That was a batter.
@@suzygreen2612 batter? I didn't see any flour
Ya I made one 3bread sandwich and used 1 egg and it was perfect
They made more after the one minute video, as if everyone eats alone.😅
You don't know that which you speak of, I promise.
Looks delicious
Thats a french toast grill cheese, not a Monte Cristo.
Exactly!
Nice job.
Gauda
Isn't it supposed to have a layer of jam/jelly? Some powdered sugar? Here in LA it's also served with a side of pancake syrup. Oh well.
That's the croque madame the The Montecristo doesn't have Jam on It.
Croque Madame doesn't have any jam either. It's a Croque Monsieur with a poached egg.
If you went to France and asked where the jam was they'd slap you about and no sugar either. I've eaten plenty of these in France. I think you have some California version?
Some variantions have jam. This is the original recipe
Absolutely not
That was so quick & easy. Serve with maple syrup?
굿
Honestly I made Monty crust is before seem like I did it the hard way this was so simple like less than few min for prep time did exactly what u did wonderful never tasted better thank you but I did add a little vanilla to my egg batter. Love it so easy and tasty
morning!

👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
good for heart
Yep! That’s the real deal…
but that's not the original recipe... the original has jam or jelly, not mayo
I think mayo and a bit of mustard
There is no "original." This is just a croque monsieur that went thru the usual evolutionary-abomination process via US cafes.
@@suzygreen2612 I don't know how it was made into an abomination, when it didn't stray from the recipe. It was only renamed
Ok find me that recipe please
@@kathleenmacias2287 ? It's the same recipe, replace mayo with jam
hm? i like this from porch cafe by mari xoxo ♥️♥️♥️👏
No powdered sugar or raspberry jam?
Mayonnaise? Really?
I don't think this is how you make a monte cristo sandwich, this is more of a french toast situation.
Gouda written wrong. I’m not Dutch but still
Cool, the sound makes me feel happy😂
Gouda cheese not Gauda.
Very nice sandwich, but you can use only 1 or 2 at most & it will do. No need for 3 really. In my opinion at least.
Unless you have three people waiting to eat.
Gauda ? It's gouda !
Xi is good uncle family honor 😍😍
What if you don't have Gouda cheese
Take your lazy ass to the store and get some.
Just use cheddar
I'm gonna use provolone cheese & ham with mustered an Mayo
Don't make it!
Use what you have.
NOt even close....Wrong Wrong Wrong!
What is it about youtubers who think we want to hear asinine music?
It's what CZcams offers for free.
Uh raspberry? Powdered sugar? Turkey? This is so so wrong😢
That’s not a Monte Cristo lol
who in the fuck puts mayo on a monte cristo?
erm you missed out turkey and should use swiss cheese. I used the gouda cheese in mine but it should be swiss.
Q
You need the powdered sugar.
All the odd-ball recipes on youtube for the Monte Cristo. There's no substitute for the original!
So it just a French toast sandwich we use to dip ours in pancake batter
My heart dont like these
Where's the powdered sugar, turkey and Swiss?
OHHHHH Goody...ANOTHER MINDLESS MARIO BROTHERS MUSIC FOREGROUND without a WORD spoken. What a WASTE of Bandwidth and Time!!!!
Really bad music taste
Looks revolting and the music is terrible
Tá errado!
taste the same without the eggs and milk mix and its way more easier.
This music made a lot of people kill themselves.
