@ScoutCrafter is a national treasure
That tool box should be good for another 50 years! Nice job! 👍 🇺🇲
Easily the best diy restoration video I’ve seen for a tool box. And I’ve been watching a TON of them. It’s so annoying watching 35 minute videos for projects such as these. After 7 minutes of watching the same action, I get frustrated and move on. Thank you! Liked and subscribed 😁
Awesome job! and a great way to keep a memory of your Dad going.
Mmmmmm delicious lead paint.
I really enjoyed this restoration- thanks for taking the time to film it!
Onto the organization video!
Good looking job, that tool box was built to last, and you helped prolong it's life. Waiting to see the final product when completely loaded. You are right about ScoutCrafter he is the King, and I always seem to learn something from him.
Those drawers would send me to lunacy….. have to organize them, lol
This has almost convinced me to clean my garage and bench today. Almost. Nice job! ✌️
I have my grandfather old metal Kodak organizer boxes. Definitely need to restore them
Inside angle iron in back of door is for tape measures
I really like this box. Boxes are my friend. Nobody pays attention to me
ikr
Nice heavy duty box is quite common in factories.. I’m a die setter at an aluminum die casting plant where for years the Millwrights have built the boxes for different tradesman in the plant. You’d be amazed at how many variations of “in house” tool boxes there are it’s almost a work of art in my plant.
That is awesome. I also have a USA made box and the company name escapes me right now but it is something like 80 years old, it was passed down to me by my Wife's grandpa who was a machinist by trade. I never really went through the box to clean it up, just threw my junk in it and now it needs to be taken apart and cleaned and one of the drawers needs fixed. But yeah it's amazing how solid and sturdy it is, especially compared to my other box that is a ~10 year old Craftsman. This video is giving me inspiration to get that job done. Nice work.
Do you remember what that lock bar looked like? Wouldn't it be great if you re-created it?
Great job! Looking forward to the organization vid!
Thanks for sharing, came out great.
Came out great ! That box looks like its built solid !
Nice. Love how you changed the color, metallic/ grey
NICE WORK. THANKS FOR SHARING.
Wow! That came out Great! That old simple box will be here after the A bomb! =) I can't believe all the stuff that was in there! =D It's funny how much a box like that weighs when full! =) Great stuff... =D
Are you of Norwegian decent by chance?
Looks like a lot of fun.
Very cool toolbox--worth the effort.
We use acid on rust. Great educational video.
That looks like my tool box at the factory I work at very heavy duty but no frills
Great restoration. Enjoyed the video. I look forward to checking out some of your others. :)
Whomever made that used the style of the old MASH unit boxes. Heavy as all get out, but you could store anything in them for medical usage and transport in a hurry if the need to bug out occurred. Those were made in the 40's and early 50s. Not an exact replica, but a really nice likeness.
Use furniture stripper 1883. That's good stuff!
I will give it a try on the next project for sure! Thanks for the tip!
thanks. i will be restoring an old box soon.
I suggest you protect the top of this really cool tool box by installing a piece of 3/4 plywood and some varnish. Do you think that's a good idea?
that looks eerily similar to a metal cabinet i have...I got it after a relative died and its pretty old.
Nice job looks good. I did prefer the old drawer handles it gave it that vintage character. Not sure why you felt like you needed to change them. But I would have really liked to have seen the original handles put back on.
you might of thought using pos rust converter from.easwood then HAMMERITE and on the top and inside drawers use pickup.box liner
That tool box might be from the 1930's.
Would be fun to know for sure. :D I really have no idea. The only clue I have is the sticker on the wheel. :D
So..... Its all in the wrist action ✊👋🤛🤜
i think it's a great toolbox, it's on wheels, i know how heavy these can be lol 😎👍
What is that stackable parts bin assortment boxes thing to the left at 0:07 ? Anyone know the name or brand or what it's called?
I call it my End Mill stand. ;). czcams.com/video/wMLLwBWMi0A/video.html
@@1D10CRACY Oh wow! A reply! I didn't realize that was home made! I was looking up those bins on Amazon... what a fantastic idea! This was my first visit to your channel, now I'm subbed. Thank you for the reply! 😊👍
Looks good but you should be careful if you do it again there is a high chance that the old paint contains lead. But great job looks 👍
I've watched a few videos and subscribed. I have to say your videos are ultra pleasant. You're not a dick which seems to be hard to find in the youtube tool/hardware review world these days.

Too many commercials for my taste,I lost interest
Yeah, CZcams has gotten bad about that. I have finally sucked it up and subscribed to CZcams Premium, no commercials. You should complain to CZcams, if they get enough complaints, maybe they will do something about it.
