old tool box in green, full restoration of the metal box, which was quite full of rust which was a great stir to remove. This box was found in a flea market for only 1.5 dollars

This was exactly what I came to see. “Regular” people restoration. No sand/bead blaster, no painting booth and kiln, the kind of thing almost any of us can do.
    Thank you for this!

Good restoration, you spent more on replacement hardware than the box

Tool boxes like that are not as easy as you would think. The nice new paint can bring out all the hard to remove body damage. Top effort with this!

When I buy second hand tools I ask the seller if they know the history, even on eBay. I have tools that belonged to the seller's father’s and a couple of times they’ve been craftsmen. It’s good to be able to assure them the tools will be respected and looked after. I wonder what the story of this tool box was? Whatever it was you certainly did it justice.

A big part of me doing old tools up is the respect for the history of them and a pride of continue this by using them, plus my OCD gets the better of me lol
