- Rusty old tool box Restoration
old tool box in green, full restoration of the metal box, which was quite full of rust which was a great stir to remove. This box was found in a flea market for only 1.5 dollars
Thanks you for watching my channel
This was exactly what I came to see. “Regular” people restoration. No sand/bead blaster, no painting booth and kiln, the kind of thing almost any of us can do.
Thank you for this!
Good restoration, you spent more on replacement hardware than the box
Tool boxes like that are not as easy as you would think. The nice new paint can bring out all the hard to remove body damage. Top effort with this!
I might have pop riveted the hardware back on
good job looks great
thanks, that kind of rivets were not found
Real nice work of the hard ware, allen screws, paint job. Sick man SICK !!!!!
There are so many sexy colors for a toolbox, thank god you went with old folks home.
Excellent. A practical fix and restoration.
Absolutely beautiful! Amazing job bro
Super job. Just looks super! Love the color! Thanks for the video.
Good Work
I must admit I liked the old patina look before painting but I am lazy and cheap. Good job BTW
you did great restoration, I really like the result 👍
We find treasure like this all the time!!! We use acid on rust. Great educational video.
Мне понравилось видео по восстановлению.
Привет из Сибири, Россия.
nice colour choice
When I buy second hand tools I ask the seller if they know the history, even on eBay. I have tools that belonged to the seller's father’s and a couple of times they’ve been craftsmen. It’s good to be able to assure them the tools will be respected and looked after. I wonder what the story of this tool box was? Whatever it was you certainly did it justice.
A big part of me doing old tools up is the respect for the history of them and a pride of continue this by using them, plus my OCD gets the better of me lol
As soon as I saw the "before" I fell in love with it. The result is a restoration work of art.
That looks terrific
Good job it looks good
Great Job!
thanks
I was hoping to k ow what products he used.. It looks good, but there is no info along with it 😕
Pleas can you mention the things u used in your description.
I actually like that color.
Me too! If only we knew what it was, right? :(
I think it's Paris Green
Way cool. The hex head screws were a frikkin great touch! 2 thumbs up.
BOOM! From nasty to ooh la la! ❤️🙌
I was looking for ways to remove rust from an old steamer trunk any products that would stop the rust from eating it but keep the patina and I can’t take it apart
This looks amazing, about how long would you say this project took to complete start to finish?
13:27 apparently
Please can you mention the things you used to clean
What chemicals did you use to soak the pieces in?
Probably white vinegar
@@davemclover81 Probably a salt water solution as he's using electrolysis to remove the rust.
Well Done! I like the color! Subscribed! T-Wrecks
What’s the name of this paint ?
Many thanks for the great video :) What spray did you use on the box parts between wire brushing and painting?
Can you tell me what you poured on when removing the paint
Great restoration video! I really like the color of the "new" tool box 👍🏼
What type of primer do you use under the enamel?
Good for another 50 years
A Great improvement, nice job!!
It looks ready for another few decades of work.
Very good restoration bro 👍👍👍👍
What was that rust liquid he used
I want to know the same thing. What that process was. What power supply was used and the type of chemical used
My grandfather had tool boxes 30's, 40's, 50's... heartbroken I didn't ask him for one...
Güzel bir işçilik oldu dostum. Zımpara işi biraz yorucu oldu ama tebrikler.
thanks
Back up the camera a little. Damn
I'd have gone with different screws......
Kerry - I can’t wait to see your next restoration video.
That box is so dented ... Ugh
Nice restoration work but the video would be way more entertaining if it was edited and a lot shorter. And a lot more useful if you explained what you were doing.
👎снято и показано не красиво и не интересно.
Aw man the new hardware really takes away from what would’ve been a top notch restoration. Get some pop rivets man!!!
Good job right up to the point you picked the fugliest color in the solar system.
I guess you never heard of pop rivets? With a cheap thin gauge metal like that, I guess that is the best one can expect.
In mexico isn´t possible. i´am sorry, the rivet pop quality is bad
Just painted a dented box
It's still covered in dents.
Hello! DeWalt number?
Hello! this brand is not mentioned in this video
Not even going to straighten out the metal? Downvote.
