I met Travis at Warped Tour 1999, he was hanging out side of stage on the ground doing rudimentary snare drum warmups, traditional grip at an insane tempo. He was originally a marching band snare drummer and it really shows, drum line was and still is some of the best forms of percussion with the most advanced stuff. Chad Sexton from 311 is also a drum line player from back in the day.

They are super clean! I find that you can use pretty standard wrist technique until about 230 - 240 bpm and then you hit a wall where you really have to learn some of the more advanced techniques like Moeller. But if you aren't going to be playing or soloing extended 32nd note phrases faster than 120bpm just wrist suffices after alot a practice.

If you tense up, it’s not gonna sound nice and fluent and if you’re nervous, you’re more likely to mess up. It doesn’t matter how good you are, own what you can do and have fun. Sick lesson brother ,I’m a self taught drummer - I love your teaching and your story ..I’ve drummed since I was about 14 or so even tho I say since I was 8 because I played on a home made bucket and pan kit ,I made (fully functional when dad got locked up ) it was my support team -if you will ….. I digress - (I’m 36 now ) I learn something new every time I watch you or listen to any of your work weather it’s with with blink or transplants , box car … there is something new in them all I like and pull from. You and Abe Cunningham of deftones inspired the hell outta me … and my band bloodshod coming out in the future will display some things I’m sure … but man always good to learn from you keep teaching … keep drumming …. Today I learned that beautiful simple flare .. I see you do a lot .. thank you 🙏
Ps . I dig it when you said my neighbors are gonna hate me lol 😂 🤘🏼 peace
