    "Die Together" is an emotional ballad written by Amanda herself together with Bjørn Helge Gammelsæter.
    Amanda Georgiadis Tenfjord lives in Norway and is of Greek heritage. She was born in Ioannina in Greece and moved to Tenfjord in Norway with her family at the age of 3.🇬🇷💙

    😉 In case the acoustic version of this song with choir could be of interest, you'll find the link below. I'm keen to know how the staging will and if the vocal effect will be solved as for the music video or rather as for the acoustic performance giving a similar effect, yet a different experience. As you might not know yet, Amanda is a medical student and she here performs with fellow students (in the version posted below). 🎶 How often do we get to see this many singing doctors-to-be on stage at once? I think they do great and I hope she brings some of them with to Turin 🎶😊. Thanks for your great reaction folks. Greetings all the way from Norway czcams.com/video/rYLXfNB53j4/video.html

      @@MyrtleP Thanks again for your wonderful reaction and I'm happy to know that you enjoyed this even more stripped back version with choir as well. I'm very happy that Amanda does well on stage live. She has performed a number of times in tv-shows in the past that I've seen and she really deliver each time. It's not like for some artists where their stage performances let them down compared to the studio versions 😊🎶

    JOWST (Norway) pushed through changes to the rules in 2017 that allows vocal effects like these (sampled vocals if used for effects, or live transformed vocals with a pedal or similar)

    She was born in the city of Ioannina - Hellas and they moved to Norway.

    They are still allowing taped back up vocals this year. There is a Latvian group who sang acepella in the mid 00s they qualified and finished mid table. The song is good and rightly tipped to do well but as far as slow fem ballads go I prefer the Netherlands.

    don't quote me on this but I think vocal effects are prohibited, I'm basing that on a spanish performer who in their national selection this year wanted to use live vocal effects and ended up withdrawing because she wasn't allowed to as it went against the rules of Eurovision. Also, I believe pre-recorded backing vocals are allowed since last year.

    Hey, I was really amused by watching your reactions guys.
    Since I really enjoyed this song very much I was intrigued by your discussion about it being all a capella and was curios to check if there maybe is some version. So I found this video. It's not live, so it's just edited out of studio recording but I really appreciated possibility to hear and got excited to share it here.

    @sus1221 Před 2 lety +1

    It's not my style, but Amanda seems like a solid singer who wrote a song really well suited to her voice. I didn't love the vocal effect in this song...keep mentally comparing it to Imogen Heap, and don't really see the point in using that effect on very simple harmonies. Would have preferred to be able to hear her natural tone instead. I wouldn't be surprised if she makes it to the final, but don't think it's a sure thing.

  • @Leifdk1
    @Leifdk1 Před 2 lety +3

    The intro is really getting my attention and it's all good quality and very Lorde... but I feel the promise is not being fulfilled once the instrumentals kick in.
    Will definitely have fans and should do ok with decent staging. But even though I should like this a lot, it's somehow just ok. At least as a studio cut. Could potentially pack more of a punch live.
    Side note:
    Lyrics. Isn't she basically saying that she's expecting a break up or at least not sure they are "meant to be"? On the surface it's romantic,, but then when you think about it, it's like... but wait. Why do they need to die together young to "have eternity together"... unless she thinks they will break up unless they die soon? Surely "dying together" after a long and happy life together is the preferrable scenario. That bugs me and just doesn't make sense. It makes it sound like she doesn't actually know what real love is.

  • @Megacillin23
    @Megacillin23 Před 2 lety +1

    I gotta say that this song sounds so much like all the Norwegian pop music that is on the radio in Norway everyday. Makes sense since she lives there but I really really can't hear any Greek roots even though she has them. Now I am not saying that the song needs that or that she isn't good, she definitely is. It's just that my favorite part of Eurovision is when countries bring forth something that sounds authentic to their own music scene.

    • @ntimance8884
      @ntimance8884 Před 2 lety +2

      I disagree because any country has the right to try and present something different and not the same every year which could be boring! 😁

    @sweetgirl070707 Před 2 lety

    Nice to listen to, but nothing special and the "die together" lyrics aren't something I enjoy listening to in time of war. I'd place it exactly in the same spot as last year's Greek entry.

    These lyrics are just horrible partner-murder stuff. Really not okay to romanticize death like this.

    The third Greek diaspora singer in a row and unfortunately the least successful.
    It's a clear downgrade on 2019 and 2021. Katerine had such dramatic vocals with a melody tailored for it. Stefania had so much charisma, interesting lyrics and stellar production too. Both epic melodies through the songs.
    This one sounds middle of the road depending on the anthemic chorus, this really is all about the chorus hook. So I find it unbalanced and simple. Her voice doesn't sound that distinctive, hopefully she has charisma.
