George at 10:57 talking about the death threats he received before a concert in Louisiana, where people said they'd shoot him. George said, "I thought, "I can't cancel the gig..." and "there was quite good security, I had a bullet-proof vest--and I moved around quick". That sums up the core of Boy George. I use to think Boy George was such a freak and then I watched this interview. It's funny how the old adage "walk a mile in my shoes" can so profoundly change one's opinion. This guy survived an awful childhood and brought a lot of good things to the music World. I hang my head in self admonishment for my narrow mind.

Back in the early days of MTV (with music videos) I was watching Karma Chameleon one afternoon and my dad walked into the room, watched for about a minute and then said "She's a really good singer." I told him it was a guy, but he refused to believe it. I said his name was Boy George and my dad walked off with a completely confused look. I never once thought he was a woman - just a guy who liked to wear makeup and eccentric clothing. Been a fan since Culture Club first appeared - Love Boy George and could listen to him talk all day. Such a beautiful spirit.

What a beautiful testimony to love. I am a 55 year old female, from scientific background, having heard boy George younger in years. My brother's name is actually George. He is 59. We have a sister too, 11 months more than me. And I was young and into different music but I now just saw the man, the person, behind the costumes and cameras. The gentleness of this man, and of his mom, and the great love between them, that is just beautiful! And George, you have lovely eyes and will till your dying day, made up or not. They are your greatest beauty. They show the state of your soul. It's not about Buddhism either. You've got the sky in your eyes dear man, you shine, you shine, you shine. Tender soul!
