Incredible Swiss Folding Gun: The B&T BWC

  • In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves visits B&T in Switzerland to see their take on the folding carbine, the B&T BWC ("Because We Can"). The BWC is a 9mm folding SMG/PCC that uses a Sig P320 fire control unit or "FCU" meaning that the BWC itself is not a firearm, but a frame or chassis. This means that this folding pistol chassis is unregulated - a mere accessory. A Sig P320 owner can buy this chassis like any other unregulated accessory because it does not come as a complete firearm. Once you purchase it, you need only insert a Sig P320 FCU and slide/barrel upper, and you have a complete folding carbine.
Per Nick Chen of The Firearm Blog:
"The BWC-9 from B&T somewhat resembles the Magpul FMG-9. It looks like it has a carry handle fixed to the top rail and they have an Aimpoint Acro mounted underneath. Just below the top rail, you can see a slot that looks like it is for the charging handle. [T]he operation is similar to the Magpul FMG design. The B&T BWC-9. A limited run, coming later this year. Uses a SIG P320 trigger group and carry slide. When deployed, the stock portion is raked at an angle rather than being parallel with the chassis. This is to allow the shooter to get a lower cheek weld and aim through the Acro."

The fact you have to form 1 this in to an SBR while I can get a cheap Gen 3 Glock clone dagger, throw it in a fully kitted 20/20 brace and it’s still a pistol. I can pretty easily take the Glock back out while still having just a pistol. If they found a way to have a braced version it would sell waaaaay more.
