I'm an American convert and it's sad to say but most yes MOST women are completely naive about men. They want to live in an ideal world that doesn't challenge their desires and this simply is not how it is. Even some of my family laugh when they say "oh ya you cover your feet, because if a man sees them he just won't be able to control himself. Ha ha ha..." Hmmm there are websites dedicated to feet fetishes and it's predominately men enjoying this. Sorry never heard one women talk about how sexy a man's foot is. So ahh ya I cover my feet....but what they (naive) hear is I cover myself because men can't control themselves and now I have to pay for that and I'm not an object men should control themselves blah blah blah. The locked doors analogy was great. When women hate on Muslim men for speaking about women's dress I just want to SMH...yet women are so quick to judge everyone, men included. I'm a women and refuse to defend women's unfairness towards the genders. I as a women also prefer women to dress modestly even for a woman's sake. Even women have to lower their gaze these days due to the dress and actions of some women. I will scroll through IG videos and sometimes think whow astigfirallah and cover my eyes. It's not just men who see women's beauty but other women as well. May Allah guide us.

my typical answer to people who say "women have the right to dress however they want", or generally "people can do whatever they want" is: why they don't get naked then? why liberal women can wear bikinis on beaches or even get totally naked on nude beaches and feel ashamed to do so in the streets? or even worse, imagine a man deciding to dress as he wants by being completely naked and then walking by you while you're sitting with your children in a public park, what is your reaction going to be? wouldn't you immediately jump on your children's eyes trying to cover them? then, what if the majority of men decided to do the same? ...
Seriously, claiming that everyone can do whatever they want as long as they're "not hurting anyone" is the stupidest thing humanity has ever witnessed.

We can always have a discussion about Islam, but we base our lives on the laws and morality that is constituted by the one who created us and knows what is in our best interest. Adhering to God and His message resonates with human nature and is the key to human fulfillment.
Objective morality can only come from God. Subjective morality may be adopted throughout the course of many different civilizations, but we reject the notion. Human societies develop, but humans are inherently the same as we were hundreds of thousands of years ago.

I was not at all offended but thanked him & changed the profile picture to abstract.
We cannot get offended or act defensive when a brother/sister points to us a truth in our religion. Even if they come across as abrupt it doesn’t change the facts of which they speak.

      I’m a French muslimah.
I’m suprised that Muslims are only getting aware of what has been happening for years.
Muslim women have been forbidden to cover their hair at school since 2004 ! In 2010 we were forbidden to cover our faces, and slowly they will forbid any type of veil even in the streets

I don’t think anything will change except that it will worsen.
Please keep in mind that approximately 60% of the French people are pure atheist and that separation between state and church has occurred nearly 120 years ago.
Most people simply HATE everything that has to do with religion.
In France there’s what they call “ La laĂŻcitĂ© Ă  la Française” which means approximately “ French definition of secularism”, which is a extreme version of secularism compared to other countries.
Freedom is a “one way street”: as long as you live as far as possible of any religious principle you’re free, otherwise you are brainswashed, submitted

Seeing that Muslims stand firm on Islam angers them because they got rid of their own religion, they have no principles.
Alhamdulillah I no longer live there, may Allah make it easy for our brothers and sisters through the world and allow us to stay in Muslim countries ( for those who left).

The spine of the lesson: accidents can happen regardless of the presence of preventative measures. But, preventative measures are just something that can reduce the likelihood of something happening, which is a rational course of action for those wanting to avoid harm. The lack of preventative measures are _often_ a reason for accidents and undesirable things happening.
It's your choiceÂč to take these measures, generally.
    1. This may depend on the situation. If the situation is dire and preventative measures are mandatory, then it's better to view that taking the measures is not a choice, but a requirement. In the case of hijab, which carries religious weight, is mandatory according to the scripture as Allah has commanded women to do it in the situations prescribed.

Remember sisters the solution is always two way: men should lower their gaze and you all should cover up and dress aprropriately. And its doesnt matter what i am saying, it doesnt matter what brother saajid is saying, BUT IT MATTERS WHAT ALLAH IS SAYING, IT MATTERS WHAT PROPHET PBUH WAS SAYING. And we daees are just spreading the word of allah swt. Salam Alaikum, brother.
What will you say about the women who are following the dress code of Islam but still get the same treatment?
I had the same argument with someone yesterday and I hurt their sentiments by saying what you said. And I believe I am not wrong. But what my mistake was that I should have remained silent and say nothing. I gave an opinion where I was not asked to give one. In my heart, I know I am right. I believe in doing your own part before you expect others to do theirs. Just like in the example of locking doors to prevent someone from breaking in in an environment where locking doors is not practised.
I have decided to not get involved with certain people in my life because when I am with them, I am in danger. Now if I go and sit with them, while they are the ones to blame, I myself am also to blame for still not protecting myself to the best of my capability.
Those who have been wronged will never accept their part, unless they are matured enough to see the truth. Ay Allah keep us safe and give us hidayah.

As a woman who very recently has taken Shahada, I appreciate everything the you have said here.
I have been wearing a turban for a couple of years just to begin my journey of head covering, before God/Allah even put it my mind to become a Muslim.
Now, I too am struggling with the idea of wearing a full hijab(not niqab).
I especially admire the traditional Somali wear of the full hijab being 2 flowing pieces of top and bottom.
But I notice, on this same note, that most men are not covering as well.
I thought, according to Quran, that men were to cover from navel to at least mid thigh, if not to the knee.
They have shirts and jackets that fit this description, ie. Neru style jackets and shirts, which may be worn for every occasion.
What I see however is the typical Western/ European business, shirt tucked in, wear.
But when men are in other Muslim countries, or in Mosque, the correct attire according to Quran, is worn.
    Why is this?
It seems that men too seem to have this 'covering' issue .
I wish this problem was discussed as much as the head covering issue for women.
When men don't adhere to their responsibility as being in awe of the Creator GOD/ ALLAH, and respectful of the covering mandated in Quran for them, then as we women, who are to follow man's lead, what do you expect to happen but the confusion on this issue that is currently happening throughout western countries today within the Islamic communities.
I'm sorry to say this, but it is hypocritical speech from men towards head/ neck and chest covering for women, when you men cannot adhere to the Quranic rules for yourselves.
Think about this before you loudly proclaim that we women don't understand what it is like to do business etc. in the west, and how we men would be perceived by other non- Muslim men if we did not adhere to their dress code!!
Oh really... is that not what some Muslim women have been saying?!!
All Muslims should want to follow the rules of ALLAH/ GOD, and happily wear clothing the way He mandates we wear them in His Quran.
Men, of All ages and states of life, please... take the lead.

SubhanAllah, we are living in an era when dressing with modesty and behaving modestly can be an issue of argument and criticism.
Indeed now we can see how Iblees is playing with our nafs. When he transgressed by saying "Then I will come to them from before them and behind them, from their right and from their left, and You will not find most of them as thankful ones (i.e. they will not be dutiful to You)’”
And our lord Allah Subhanuwata'ala the most high said: "Verily, My slaves (i.e. the true believers of Islamic Monotheism) - you have no authority over them. And All-Sufficient is your Lord as a Guardian".
May Allah Subhanuwata'ala grant us as his true believers when we'll leave this Dunia.
    Ameen.
    Salam.

O ye who believe! Take not into your intimacy those outside your ranks: They will not fail to corrupt you. They only desire your ruin: Rank hatred has already appeared from their mouths: What their hearts conceal is far worse. We have made plain to you the Signs, if ye have wisdom.

Asalamu Alaykum brother Saajid. Keep your eyes on the price(jannah) no matter what friends of Satan say. They went to misguide us 24/7. May Allah keep us firm on his religion until we die Aamiin

Except for those that repent (Even) after that, and make amends; for verily Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
