As someone who spent most her life not even wearing hijab (May Allah forgive me) . I’ve experienced no hijab , hijab and now niqab(with gloves) . People can look at me funny and comment , the opposite of that of no hijab was more attention , attention of having men (some times women) always stop me always contemplate/disturb me about my body/face ect . And one day Allah put in my heart a type of sickness I could see clearly these men/women only had one thought in their head , and I didn’t want that attention. People that say I’m a slave are also slaves , as I say we are all slaves to something I have chosen to be a slave to Allah not the society I live in . These women who look down at me or want to free me , need to ponder how many of them really ‘choose’ to dress the way they do . How many of them have the pressure to show skin from men and women , how has social media influence them and given them insecurities , how many go under the knife to find the perfect body or face ect. Alhamdulillah Allah has freed me from that sickness , the sickness of what his creation wants or deems as the ‘perfect woman’ . I’m his Slave and no longer the fashion industry/his creation slave . Allah has blessed us with Islam , May Allah guide and protect us all Ameen !

I always felt it was insane when I first visited Egypt as a tourist. I felt they were retarded and holding back progress for women in Egypt.
Imagine 20 years later I myself wore the niqab i.e. face veil. I had converted and slowly studied quran and sunnah year after year. Living in Cairo and having observent friends as role models resulted in my love for Islamic clothes.
Previously for 38 years I wore bikinis and very mini skirts, make up and high heels and was flaunting my beauty. This is known as the time of ignorance. Knowledge is the key here. Allah guides whomHe will..no compulsion in Islam.

However, I get full respect and I don’t get harrased or stalked. Subhanallah those very words Allah said in the Quran “you will be known as respectful woman and not be harrased’” hits home so hard for me.

Alhamdulillah I chose to 'dress this way' a.k.a. to cover up. 💖💖💖
As a revert with old friends who didn't know I embraced Islam I would always get the "oh did you marry a mufti?" or "uhm your husband must be very strict". I always find such comments amusing because, one, my husband didn't force or even encourage me the least to wear the niqab. Two, he's not a mufti. He's a jeans and t-shirt guy. When I made a decision to cover up, I ran it by him not to get his permission but to inform him and hear his thoughts. He was initially worried of the backlash, the typical "oh so you're ultra religious now" reaction from people. I have his support. May Allaah increase him in goodness in this life and hereafter. 💕
Before the first time I wore the niqab I spoke with a few Muslim women about it. Surprisingly, not a single one of them encouraged me to wear the niqab. Not even my tajweed teacher! I remember coming home one day telling my husband how sad I am not because I didn't get support from sisters I consider close to me in deen but because I realised just how little knowledge or attempt to seek knowledge there is among Muslim women on the issue of covering up as how it is actually legislated in our perfect and beautiful religion of Islam. I would initially lift my niqab before entering Muslim homes because they raised their eyebrows on my covering up. Some avoided me and think of my covering up as arrogant. One time someone (a Muslim) commented why I'm "unnecessarily and excessively" wearing gloves and went further by saying it's not Islamic.
I never got upset or hurt for such comments. I find it sad, sad for Muslims who have little knowledge or desire to seek knowledge.
    Allahu musta'an.
But to my niqabi sisters from all over the world, from the East to the West, alhamdulillah, I love you all for the sake of Allaah may Allaah grant you and I a lofty rank in jannah for our covering up, inshaAllaah.🌹🌹🌹

I love my religion, I love covering up and I’m proud to dress in a way that pleases my Lord.

Beautifully said brother saajid. Its refreshing to see our sisters who 'cover up' talking about it so proudly and honouring modesty in islam as it should be. These feminists talk about being able to do what they like with their bodies whilst having to deal with the negative consequences that society then makes them suffer for yet the Muslim woman shows she holds more power and control over her own body because she decides what people can see or not see so who really is the feminist although we don't agree with this term. Allah knows his creation and has given us clear instructions if we choose to abide by them, we will insha Allah be winners in both worlds if we obey Allah's commands but if we think we know better than Allah then surely we are on the path of self destruction. May Allah guide us all. Ameen

Those who have Hayaa (modesty and shyness) are recognisably different and special from those who have little or no Hayaa.
Just remember that from all the companions, the one who was most well known for this characteristic was not a woman but a man, 'Uthmān Ibn 'Affān may Allah be pleased with him.
As the prophet praised him (Uthman) by telling Abubakar ibn Siddiq ; “Should I not feel shy before a man whom the angels feel shy from?” 📚 Sahih Muslim 2401
This should be a huge lesson and challenge for brothers, and an even bigger lesson and challenge for sisters. And nowadays, Hayaa / Modesty is a trait which most people lose because of Social Media.

I appreciate your efforts at preaching the truth. When people digress from the teachings of Islam,it is very difficult to convince them on something ,which is either difficult to follow or is out of their taste. This is what the other people of the book did.The other issue with a great many of born Muslims is that, they are Muslims by default. With a bequeathed faith, they think they have a passport for heaven.Exactlly like the concept of the children of God,in which the Jews think they will not go to hell, and even if they go, it will be for a brief period of 6-7 days.It is this complacence which has led the born Muslims to throw caution to winds.Do not get daunted by the kind of responses you are receiving.Recall, how Prophet Muhammad was ridiculed, harassed, satarized and slandered.May Allah(swt) be with you.

You can dress modestly even without hijab as long as your intention is correct but bear in mind the hijab is the most correct way to go about it and should not be shamed or maligned.

Muslim women that wear niqab wear it to please Allah , not because it's their desire , it's human nature for women to desire to show their beauty , and what prevents them is fear of Allah .
It's not strange for nonbelievers to mock niqab and say the woman that wears it is crazy , but what is strange is for Muslims to mock niqabis .
I wear niqab and live in Jordan and many of our Muslim friends tell me I'm an extremist, but I do t care , what I care for is to please Allah subhanahu wa taala

    The choice is yours
Abandon the rope of the CREATOR
    Loosen away from morals
    Erase the conscious
    Do whatever you want
    Allow yourself to fall
So even venomous snakes and scorpions
    Feel ashamed of you
Or hold firmly to the rope of Allah
    Strengthen your morals
    Sharpen your conscious
    Be humble and mindful
    Allow yourself to fly
So even the Angels are proud of you
    The choice is yours
