Puts some prayers up in the air for my Brotha Mr Biscuit. I just found out his Mother past away this week 😔 I know she’s looking down very proud of her son. I’m truly sorry bro, Love you ❤️🙏🏽
Sorry to hear this. Best wishes 🙏👍
🙏
Wow, how gracious he is. 🙏
Condolences. Rest in peace mama
Sending prayers and healing vibes.
In my opinion, Ren is the Freddie mercury of hip hop.
His range is incredible, you can't quite nail down his genre and he's obviously got a huge flair for the operatic.
nice! a fitting non-trivial collating synopsis. ❤
Brilliant take man!
His genre is poetic bard. But seriously, he is a poet and I think that's the best explanation to what he is.
It's called bardcore
Something like that
I am not your usual listener. I have never come across your channel before. I am a sixty-five-year-old white woman that loves all kinds of music except country. I was just looking around for reaction videos to Ren. I too have recently been blown away by this young talent.
I want you to know that all the reaction videos that I have seen and there has been many lately for rent and some other music that I like yours has by far than the best. I like the way you took mr. Biscuit on a journey. I too love doing that with someone that appreciates good music. I have been heavily into all different types of music since I have been very young and worked at the 2nd largest record store in New York state when I was 16-18. I love the way you did three of his songs, with minimal interruption. There have been reaction videos that I couldn't even get through because they stopped after every single verse, often talking through important details of the song. You did not do that you respected the music. And I love looking at your faces because you were getting the same thrill out of this young musical genius Thank you
Glad I’m not the only one . 55 and just discovered him and now it’s all I watch
@@takerhapsody Watched him a week ago....swearing ain't caring, so I pulled the plug. Because of Black Pegasus, thought I'd have a second suck of the sav. He IS a very strange-ly talented young fella; now says this 62 y.o. fella !!
"Hi, Ren" is a masterpiece of modern art and Ren in general is a genius. Excited to see where he takes us next on this journey.
Masterpiece is the only word to describe this song. This song is a modern day Bohemian Rhapsody and I'll die on that hill.
Wheww. Masterpiece to say the least. And the comparison to Bohemian Rhapsody is the best I’ve seen. One of the best comments on these dozens of reaction videos to Hi Ren I have watched!!!
Bring Mr. Biscuit back to listen to anything. He's awesome and deep himself.
It's weird....I had exactly the same desire to "show" Ren to everybody I know.... artists, poets, hip hop heads, rock dudes - whatever. I became an instant Ren evangelist. Mad ting...but hey, love from the UK 🇬🇧🔥💯
Haha same here, same here. Is like, each time i see ppl react and are blown away by him I feel a sense of pride in me for him, like i don't even know why, I'm just... like..so proud of him ❤️❤️
I am another convert. Feeling privileged to have heard REN
Yup, pretty much my story. 😂
I always feel like a proud Mum every time I watch someone hearing Ren for the 1st time
"streets can be bleak but bleak is the place where I rose to my feet" hits hard AF when you know about all of the trauma and pain that Ren has endured in his life already.
Mr Biscuit is easy my fave guest on here. Humble, articulate, recognizes talent and gives cred where cred is due.
I've been a lurker for quite some time but gotta say I've learned so much more in-depth stuff about hiphop here than any other place.
I really don't understand how your podcasts/reactions are not way more popular. Keep it up BP, thanks!
I think he alluded to why he said he’s fighting with CZcams algorithms meaning he probably hasn’t quite figured them out yet or if he did figure them out, he doesn’t want to fit into that round holes being a square peg maybe just guessing
100% agree. 70 years old is a bit late to get into hip-hop, but this is taking me there!
8 months later, over 200.000 subs ❤
And yes Biscuit was cool - want to hear more from him and Pegasus together. Was so nice to see &hear his reaction to Ren and their conversation
“Chalk Outlines” ft Chinchilla to hear yet another side of Ren. He’s just so multi faceted. Unlike anything or anyone else. Well rounded, musicians musician. You can’t box him in. It’s impossible. He writes, performs and produces (even beatboxes) all his own stuff, outside of the street busking covers. To top it off, he records most things live, in one take, with only his phenomenal cameraman Sam.
I second this. Chalk Outlines is so incredibly gorgeous. That live version blows my mind.
and "how to be me" and "sick Boi" FOR SURE.
Chalk Outlines and Genesis are my go to follow-up recommendations. After the exhausting nine minute ordeal that 'Hi Ren' is, they're much easier listens. Chalk is still a shot to the heart obviously, but it requires nothing of the listener to take it in. Just sit back and relax, and try to hold back the tears.
@@justinatest9456 Have you heard his version of "i shot the sheriff " with his band The Big Push? It’s the best. "Losing it" is great great great also.
best song ever created!
Mr Biscuit reaction when Ren starts singing I Shot the Sheriff was the best thing I’ve seen in awhile lol. Ren surprises EVERYONE. Great stuff, guys.
I will try and make a list for my parents tomorrow to take care and have to take a break and leave early on Sunday to make up the final decision and we should go to our own church for dinner on Friday or Friday or so you will have no need of an invite for this week to do this please give it a shot so I don't miss you so well then we have been busy all weekend too long so far but it was good seeing all day you were there so we didn't get out there by now because I didn't know how I would get there to get out there was so many of these days are still there but I'm sure they would get some more help for our kids than we could be for our next meeting when I get off campus next time around about this week but we need an hour ahead that I need some good time today when we get off this week again next month after I come off again but we are still waiting till our first round is here again but it's just now getting better we know that it's been very hectic over this period that is still happening here because I'm very busy now trying new ways that we don't need anything like we do when we're both old guys that we can get along that we don't know what is up here now though I'm still trying some new ones now I'm just trying some new things I'm getting into this one last night while we worked here before they went off their website when we moved here we went back up their website they wanted their friends here some good friends of their family
A great reaction video is when the guys are so stunned by what they've that they just cannot pause and talk about what they are listening to. Not many songs are able to induce stunned silence with serious inner thoughts bordering on existential philosophy.
Ren is true art.
When Mr. Biscuit goes "What next could there possibly be?" as you got the lil smirk on your face startin to pull up the busking Marley covers 😂knowing what was coming that had me dying
This was all gold. One of the best Ren reactions I’ve seen. We went on a journey with Biscuit and loved every single second. Pegasus, we need you to bring another one of your boys in for the Ren treatment.
Agreed
This reaction was extremely captivating and enjoyable to watch. Loved every minute of it.
I showed the wife Ren and she almost cried 🤣🤣 Salute to Ren!
@@misterbiscuit2538 It makes me emotional every time.
Chalk Outlines is another completely different vibe!
Can you answer in more detail?
I can’t WAIT for ReN to see this. I think this is going to give him an extra healing boost of energy. That was fantastic.
😝🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Ren reacts to reactors reacting to his material. His father Martin also chimes in. We are all in this together, we are all Ren.
Ren reacts to reactors reacting to his material. His father Martin also chimes in. We are all in this together, we are all Ren.
@@TrianglesAndCircles is that so? Wow how cool never came across such a thing. Where might I find that? Thanks
@@XRPeakyBlindAR It's all over so many reaction channels. Ren has his own channel too.
He is a sophisticated musician man! No matter what music genre you are tagging him with, this kid is an artist!
Fantastic react! One of the weird things happening to me with regard to Ren is that I find myself watching react videos and learning so much from what others see/feel. This react is no exception!
Mr B is legit. I appreciate not just his open mind, but his open heart.
Ren was signed by Sony at 17 and immediately thereafter was diagnosed with Lyme Disease and then dropped by Sony. He was very sick and housebound for the next ten years. "Sick Boi" and "Chalk Outlines" tell this tale. In a room alone he honed his skills into magnificence. He's in Canada getting stem cell therapy now. I call him The Bard of Brighton. as he's Shakespeare, Freddie Mercury, David Bowie and Em all wrapped into one genius brain. Continue on your dive into him guys ❤
Thank you for the info, if you know REN please tell him he is truly the most talented and original artist I have ever seen. I am 63 and played festivals in the 80s. REN’s music is just the best of what life has to offer. I wish him well.
As I understand it the story was a little different, and a lot more fucked up. He got incredibly sick shortly after being signed like you said, but when he went to the doctor they couldn't find anything wrong with him, so they assumed it had to be psychological and prescribed anti-psychotic meds to treat his "delusions". Lyme disease is incredibly painful and draining and he knew that something real was wrong, so when the psych meds did nothing he continued going to doctor after doctor and they all kept telling him it was all in his head. He spent that 10 years mostly in his bed, because he didn't have the strength to get out of it for more than about an hour a day. He finally went to a doctor that diagnosed him with Lyme disease, but the problem then was that the disease had been ravaging his body and his brain for 10 years unchecked. That's why he has had to go through stem cell therapy (which I believe initially happened several years ago now), because the normal treatments were not enough for late stage Lyme disease.
@@Psyco913 Thank you, makes his artistry even more unbelievable.
@@randlewilliams8288 just a rabid fan.
@@Psyco913 you have the particulars right from what I have read. Thanks for the details. 💯
I love that Mr Biscuit approached this with a critical mind and initially wasn't a huge fan, and then became a convert! Made his appreciation that much more powerful! Also shows how great and amazing Hi Ren is
their faces at the end of Hi Ren say it all. Absolute genius
This kid is amazing. He has people talking about their mental health. He brings out the best in people.
I have the same disease Ren does and am an artist and I believe “The Hunger” is also the urgency he feels because he doesn’t know how much time he has left. The thought of dying before doing what you believe you are here to do drives you hard.
Me too, and I completely agree with you. The line ‘the older I get the more I feel the hunger’ resonates most for me, it’s so powerful. The sense of urgency is palpable and only grows stronger with time. We’re in a cruel paradox.
I’m sorry you have to live with this. I hope you find a treatment or therapy that helps, that enables you to express your art. Wishing you all the best and be gentle with yourself.
That kid is brilliant
You don't always Die from Lyme Disease Syndrome but you can near waste away to near nothing being just a Shell of the person you once was if you do survive, I have An Auto Immune Disease called Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) and over the last eight years my body has aged twenty years and like and like Lyme Disease Syndrome (Caused by a Tick Bite) you don't always die but it will shorten your life and you always feel defeated. It Sucks... GBS is caused by either a Flu Vaccine Shot Or a severe shock to the body I had both only months apart from each other and then it appeared. It's a struggle.
@@batubop651 I hear you. As the years go on, the countdown clock gets louder and louder. I'm pushing sixty and there are times every second's tick sounds like a rifle's crack.
37:04 fyi ‘The Big Push’ (the band Ren was in) is no longer together :( they split when some members had to move away abroad, hopefully they grt back together one day as they have many legendary performances, cannot recommend them enough! Awesome reaction, love you two
This dude… one song brought so many together to just talk about him.. this is what music is all about.. common ground…he does have something to be proud of…
According to Ren's website, when he was medicated he would hallucinate people having animal heads. It's thought that this came from his appreciation of the novel "Animal Farm".
The pig is also said to represent greed.
@@IronRaspberry truth. I'm just sharing what Ren has to say about it.
Apologies for such a lengthy reply.
Thank you for sharing that regarding the Animal Farm, and greed. I’ve also read it’s a representation of the medical system and certain practitioners and their mistreatment when they get it so so wrong.
I’ve been living with the same physical conditions as Ren for nearly 30 years, there’s long been great discrimination within the global medical community of misdiagnosing it as ‘all in our head’ or ‘psychosomatic. The psychs (obviously not all, some amazing ones out there too) hijacked our conditions decades ago so we went without the proper research and funding into the actual biomedical origins and causes, leading to incorrect psych diagnosis and treatment for such a devastating physical condition. I’ve lost a few very dear friends along the way because of this.
The tide has luckily slowly been turning in the past 5-10 years, some incredibly brave and brilliant scientists and drs fought back and are doing amazing work now. It’s still early days comparatively though.
But it meant many of us live in fear of the very drs and medical system we desperately need help from. I have personally felt literally butchered by them including due to operations not done correctly and nearly losing my life more than once. So when I see some (not all) drs and surgeons, the butchering pig is 100% the imagery I have, they do not feel human to me, and it can be terrifying. Many of us are left with ‘medical ptsd’ purely due to years of misdiagnosis, mismanagement, physical endangerment and neglect, and the years of gaslighting from the medical system. Plus from having to fight so damn hard for access to get the actual treatment we need. Keeping in mind most of us live in countries with public heath systems that do not provide the drs and treatments needed due to lack of public funding, yet because most of us can’t work we don’t have the financial means to go private or overseas where treatments are available. Ren needing to go to Belgium for stem cell treatment and now Canada for his current treatment, yet needing to fundraise on gofundme for the exorbitant costs is evidence of this. Evidence of how the government and NHS (along with equivalent in many other nations) is failing him and millions more. #millionsmissing
So when I first saw the pigs, I immediately quite literally associated them with certain drs and with the treatment many of us have suffered at the hands of the medical system. But also figuratively with the system’s corrupt immense power over us, as in the pigs portrayal in the Animal Farm. I’m grateful you confirmed this in your comment. Plus as @iron raspberry pointed out, Greed. Be It the group of British psych scientists of Oxford to hog (🐽) the funds that should have been directed to biomedical researchers instead, along with governments’ dismal funding etc.
Just to repeat myself, a great shift has happened in recent years. Due to the bravery of some incredibly brilliant scientists and drs. And of course the global community people/patient power movement that helped push it into the limelight. But it’s still early stages and we need so much more, most still have no access to specialists and treatments. Ren is now one of the most powerful patient/people voices in this community and I’m so in awe of and grateful to him. Plus his music has been the best cathartic medicine.
I’ll also point out, when most people are faced with a such a difficult life changing diagnosis with huge stigma, a sudden inability to work and poverty, lack of medical care, the loss of loved ones and broken relationships, isolation if homebound/bed bound… well therapy is very much needed. But due to the lingering old false information still believed by some professionals in the psych community, most of us don’t dare seek out therapy for fear of further medical gaslighting. Luckily we have strong online supportive communities, but we should have access to safe professional mental health support. The suicide rate in the community is shocking.
Lastly, if you go to REN’s CZcams page, the video he released to announce his new music is an old vlog of his when he was younger and very ill, it’s heartbreaking, raw and very real. In the video description he has written a full essay explaining all of this including his personal journey with it. And how it was the motivation for the new songs. Watching and reading it helps greatly in better understanding many of his lyrics and video imagery too, both in his older and newer music.
@@batubop651 no need to apologize! Your life experience and thoughts are enlightening! I hope your condition improves, stay 💪
@@buddy7467 thank you for your kind response! I grew up culturally with a ‘never complain, never explain’ mindset, I’ve been trying to remind myself that sometimes it’s actually cowardly to hide in the shadows, and not a sign of strength. my stomach is usually in knots if I write a lengthy explanation, and have to resist strongly the urge to delete. Seeing a positive and thoughtful comment like yours means the world, undid the knots. Wishing you all the best :)
@Black Pegasus Check out Ren - Losing it (FISHER rap retake), he packed like 100 references into one song. Ren - What You Want is like an old school classic. And under his videos, 1st comment, is his lyrics.
Love the side glances with you knowing what was coming. Made me smile.
Beautiful Reaction guys! Great inquiry of yours as well! thanks guy's.
Are we simply gonna ignore the fact that this "Hunger" industrial type Beat is wild as fuck!? I honestly never heard anything alike! 🔥🔥🔥
This is the comment. I didn’t realize why this beat hit so hard and you hit the nail on the head.
It is a monster of a beat! I concur ❤️🤩👌🏼
i heard that opening and it i instantly thought id heard it before it took me like 3 minutes to realize it sounded like mushroom heads song solitaire unraveling
I love Mr Biscuits reactions so open and thoughtful.
My man dropping the MF Doom correlation...You two need to collaborate regularly. Well done!
I watched this interview 6 months ago when it first dropped and came back 6 months later to watch it again and it still rocks. It was wonderful watching Mr Biscuit being blown away by Ren . And him asking if Ren is new . It was also cute hearing Black P mentioning that he hopes one day to get 100 k subscribers and here he is 6 months later with more than 170 K subscribers . What a journey we all have been on this past 6 months . Can’t wait for REN’s Sick Boi album to drop - and yes I did pre order both the CD and the I tunes .
My understanding is that Ren is taking a break from the band because of his extended medical stay in Canada where he’s undergoing treatment for his conditions. Can’t wait to see them reunite when he’s back!
Imagine starting at "how to be me - live" first and then going to losing it. woof.
I just got on the ren train this week and it's actually insane the amount of lyricism and talent this kids got.
"This Kid" is a 32 year old man 😉
Welcome aboard. :) I have been on it for about 3 weeks now and it is never dull. always.... surprising and amazing and heart wrenching. dude.
in every song he takes you with him on his private journey. its incredible... goosebumps almost every song
He said he didn't want to get down a philosophical rabbit hole and you whip that deep shit on him. Love what you do!
So, about 3 (?!) years ago, before all the Covid/Corona epidemic, I was in Brighton UK. I heard some band playing down the street, good music - bluesy, funky, rocky mixed up - I went to have a look and listen. They were busking on the street by the Laines area. Really good, talented, excellent vibe. The vocalist was outstanding. After about 10 minutes, they took a break and I carried on with whatever it was that I was doing. A few months ago I came across a video, here on CZcams, of the band - Big Push . "Great" I thought, had a look at their stuff and enjoyed the vibe again. Now this!! Amazing!! What a huge talent this Ren guy has! Outstanding! So much range. And what a story he has, what he is going through. All power to him.
BP’s just like a proud father enjoying others going nuts about his kid’s talent in this😂
I ve watched loads of reactions and all seem to miss that there are 4 voices.
Rens narcissistic manic voice. Rens vulnerable voice, Rens Evil assured almost invulnerable voice.
Rens determined, also assured voice.
All noticeably different. The music also changes.
The 1st Ohhh oh oh is quite rigid, and uncomfortably discordant
The 2nd Ohh oh oh, is much more loose fluid almost joyously discordant.
Ren learned to dance in the chaos.
He's a flipping genius
Ren learned to dance in the chaos .............yes yes yes
Totally agree, Ren is real life talent, we can all relate to his lyrics cuz he is real, absolutely amazing
Right?? I feel what these guys are saying. But early on I wanted to shake my monitor when they were suggesting 'maybe he's just rhyming to rhyme.' I was like WHAT?!
He is also able to perfectly depict an inner monologue, that there are those out there who would never get to experience it without such, due to their lack of one. I took an interest in perception and words used, since discovering I have aphantasia and the rest of you are pretty much clairvoyant in my eyes! (have clarity of thought in visions, e.g. can see an apple or count sheep to sleep - amazing! I thought it was a figure of speech, I get there are those that lack an inner monologue also, so they cannot understand my rambling world of thought - music can connect us all).
Ren is fire he’s been about a minute but his time has come he’s blowing up big time
Those spoken words at the end are phenomenal. Profound.
Genius.
Amazing.
It's not 3 different people...its 4. 🙂 Awesome reaction guys! I just discovered Ren last night...he is amazing!
You mention seeing Ren live...in the chair. Pink Floyd comes to mind. Been watching for 50 years (I'm 62) Ren brings back something that us older folks have not seen is a long time.
I've been watching Ren for the last few days, and he is stunning in his talent... I told my wife and shared "Hi Ren" on my Facebook page as the best thing I've heard in decades. It struck me today that it's like the first time hearing Pink Floyd "Darkside of the Moon". Maybe a bit like hearing Queen "Bohemian Rapsody" when it came out. He's insanely talented and I'm stunned that he doesn't have a label... which may be a good thing for the rest of us. His continious stream videography shot by his buddy and flat mates for basically no cost mean he gets to do what he is drawn to, no contractual obligations that lead to half assed product because a label was pushing for the next hit.
In Hi Ren the part that sticks out the most to (besides the speech at the end is), "You can't kill me I'm Temptation and I'm IMMORTAL! Oh yeah? Well I'm HOPE and I'm Eternal!" Opposing forces battling throughout the history of time! Ren is Shakespeare like both musically and poetically!
Also, I sent you the link to the last Ren song with The Big Push. I am SOOO glad you reacted to it a while back and took your boy on the Ren Ride and LOVE 32:12 that says it all and is why I am trying to get more people to react to this song. Ren's versatility and vast skills from writing musically/poetically, playing, acting, raping, singing, beatboxing, and genres like Reggae, Rap, RnB, and Grime is not comparable to almost anyone!
Biscuit: "What next could there possibly be?"
And your face... 🤣🤣🤣! Loved every minute of this! SUBSCRIBED & LIKED. Thank you for this & welcome to the Reniverse! 🥰🙏❤
I watched this reaction w BP when it was released 4 months and 4 mo later - today - its still one of my favourite . Mr Biscuit - I loved your responses and comments . I hope you came back again for BP
In a couple words/phrase.. "Multi-Genré"- "Genius" - "Virtuoso" musician/artist..
I believe "REN" (WILL) go down as one of the Greatest "Musicians" / "Live-Performers" / Poets/Song writers/story-tellers/ "Artists" of ALL TIME!!
He's like a throw back from the 60s for Talent BUT With 4x the skills/genre's!
I only found his Music Last year and I'm English & British and this young Welshman British man BLEW MY BRAINS OUT with "Hi Ren" THEN I kept watching literally for about 4 hours the busking etc etc.. when he played Black Sabbath and Bob Marley and a number of other tunes with the Band HE BLEW MY MIND! And Stuck a personal chord with his SHEER TALENT/GENIUS and Personal Struggle! The man is an INSPIRATION!!
GOD BLESS HIM and God Protect him! 💪👊❤️🙏🏴🏴🇬🇧
Great job, guys! I'm a 73 yo white woman following you straight down the Ren rabbit hole. He astonishes. Love your thoughtful comments and your enthusiasm for Ren's work. Also your mischievous self surprising Mr. Biscuit!

He definitely would love the storytelling an performance of Jenny & Screech
Big respect to the Mr Biscuit and Black Pegasus for sharing the love for Ren.
I think Mr Biscuit is my favourite sidekick on the Ren rabbit hole.
The facial reactions without the words especially on Hi Ren were the best I've seen so far.
It's almost like he wants to say no way stop this cannot be real.
I wonder if Mr Biscuit has seen Suicide yet?
Loved this reaction - great idea to show Ren’s eclectic brilliance by covering three very different styles.
I was there when he was singing ‘I shot the sheriff’ and it was magical. When I first saw Ren performing live seven years ago, I was captivated. There was just something so different about him. I have since seen him live many times and it's wonderful that everyone else is finally waking up to his talents. I suggest Chalk Outlines (live) next to hear his beautiful singing voice.
Ren is very talented and I think the big push are all wonderful Romain’s guitar skills and his lovely energy is also a joy to watch plus the other guy that sings is also great, listening to him sing Sympathy for the Devil on their very last gig was fantastic, being a stones fan myself I am quite critical about cover I see of the big songs, ain’t seen anyone who can pull off Merry yet on Give me Shelter. There is a video somewhere with her vocal isolated out and the story of what happened that night.
Live?! I’m so envious. Would have been so special.
This was great! Really cool to watch you introduce other people to Ren while you’re still going deeper down the rabbit hole. Everyone needs to know about this multitalented genius ❤
Truth!
Hip hop isn't just art, everything and anything is art. It's beauty.
So enjoyed listening to your reactions. I just found Ren's music recently and my mind is blown away and I don't know how to explain it.
Check out Rens retakes Fatboy Slims Right Here Right Now, The Verves Bitter Sweet Symphony, Genius and What You Want also Power and Loosing It. Ren does not put a foot wrong he is genius and his rabbit hole is huge and extremely varied, got to love ❤ Ren & The Big Push.
Ren put a video up on his twitter account in the last few days. The Verve tracked him down to where he’s currently being treated in Canada and sent him a gift. Among other things was a bass from the bassist from Verve. It’s well worth a watch, so glad he’s getting the recognition he deserves.
Edit: not 100% sure, but I think Fat Boy Slim, like REN, is also from Brighton. There’s an awesome video on CZcams of Fat Boy Slim performing live on the beach in Brighton back in the day, the entire city turned out, filled the entire beach. So I like that Ren chose this song and filmed it in the exact same area, like a homage to Fat Boy Slim AND their shared hometown.
Notice that Rens 'Hunger' video was all done in one single take, no breaks or edits, just raw art
Bro this is why I love this channel. I caught you switchin up what you were gonna show em after the first song. That’s literally everyone in their living room trying to put on a dudes talent. You knew what he was looking for and you showed that version. I can’t stand a lot of these reaction videos where they just play a song and they all be like ohhh crazy….next. I absolutely love that you were the DJ and switched it up for the audience you were playin for. Brilliant
I have seen a lot of reaction videos, and the way you set this up has to be the most epic setup, journey, analysis, cultural references, intelligent analysis I have heard. Y'all took us all for a ride with you...THANK YOU for making reaction videos great again for all of us!
I love this reacción !!! I was almost screaming put jenny and screech 🤣🤣🤣 so he could hit the 4th wall and meet the 4th Ren …
That was hilarious. Loved this reaction. Mr Biscuit had quite a journey.
I like it how you guys are not only onto react or comment about this just on the rap and hip hop subject but go further about it and have a good sense of the philosophy and meaning of music and lyrics.
I think the pigs head theme is a lord of the flies reference. In that story boys lost on an island essentially represent the interplay of love, hope, primal evil, insanity, group think, acceptance and so many other themes of humanity (and abandoning it)… and in the end it is all so futile, a self contained and instantly dismissed journey when they are found.
From what I've picked up watching interviews in the rabbit hole it's a nod to the hallucinations he had when the wrong meds caused psychosis. He would see people in animal masks.
Ren is a chameleon, he is what ever he needs to be for who he wants to be at that moment, Ren is a unicorn. So many more "Ren's" to find out about LOL
In terms of ‘The Hunger’ that’s exactly what it is. He’s just showcasing, he’s going wild and having fun with the beat he created. It’s not just rhyming for rhyme’s sake but I do think this is mainly a Ren “commercial” if you will. Just another string to his bow.
Edit: “the title of this song (The Hunger) makes sense. He’s just trying to show us he’s an animal - he’s trying to show us how many pockets he can tap into” - Biscuit.
What I get is it's the hunger to create. Creating is what makes his life meaningful. The monster is the genre defying scope of his creativity. It's not just singer songwriter guitar playing Leonard Cohen style or crooning Frank Sinatra, or rap, or hip hop. And he's showing off & having fun with it too.
@@patparker4280 I meant in terms of the purpose of the song as being a technical rapping showcase rather than the lyrical content and song premise

Great reaction lads 👌🏽 get Mr B to check out Jenny, Screech and Violet the full trilogy.... ✊🏽
Ren is an unbelievable bass player too
And pianist. He is just insanely talented.
@@Shiroar and cellist
@@lillyvanpug haven’t seen that though. Is there any video evidence? I think he has mentioned drums too, but haven’t seen that either.
Check out wade in the water by the big push to see Ren on bass
Today was my first time hearing Ren, and wow I am absolutely blown away. Great reaction and I’m so glad you played three videos so we could hear his versatility. Blew me away each time.
Elvis song "can't help falling in Love with you" this rendition is so beautiful.
That was an awesome reaction, more reactions should do deep dives like this. This went from “ I am on the fence about Ren” to “I am inspired”.
I was partial to the Krizz Kaliko reaction until this. But this made my whole week.
I would love love love to see Mr Biscuit back with you to react to the tale of Jenny and Screech (full). For real.
In the meantime, I'm wishing the best to Mr Biscuit against Danny Meyers. Not that he needs my good mojo but I'm sending it anyway. 😁
“The pain that you’re experiencing, the only reason you know it’s pain is because you didn’t have it before.” That hit me 😢 I never felt that type of pain until my grandma passed away 15 years ago, and haven’t felt that type of pain since.
So far I have only seen Hi Ren from him and I was so goddamn moved and inspired I was an instant fan, as a musician myself I have a lot of roots in a lot of styles from the worlds of Metal and Jazz (my primary music endeavors) to Acapella, Hip Hop, Prog, Folk, Indie, hell even a little country in there. As someone who grew up into fast underground rap, I was a goddamn Technician to the core (Still am shout out Tech N9ne, shout out KCMO) Hearing this guy go from this vulnerable, deep, well acted, utterly beautiful composition on Hi Ren, with the rap and poetry, the virtuosity on the guitar, the beautiful singing and terrifying vocal work, to just straight up spitting heat, and spitting it at a breakneck speed in The Hunger..god fucking damn this living legend has earned me as an endless fan.
No lie, this is my favorite reaction I’ve seen from you BP! I’ve watched a lot of them. Trying to remember to hit that like button. I’ve been getting a lot better though. I tend to go down rabbit holes and forget to do it. My bad, I’m working on it. 43 year old FUQ Boy here in NC!!
😆🙌🏽
i also feel all warm in my feels witnessing genuine appreciation & inspiration at true talent by truly talented artists themselves. much respect for the newer artists that deserve it.
i had the biggest grin on my face when you hit ya boy with the marley portion. im here like YAAASSS!
I waited for two days for this reaction… well worth the wait.
This person reacted the best that I’ve seen . Had it down on the ten minute mark. Dude isn’t just tuned into music but life itself! Thank you for sharing all of you 🙏❤
I've never heard of them either, so I'm watching this for the first time along with this video. I'm 43 and have always loved a wide variety of different music.
Just the real honesty and I loved Mr Biscuit’s takes. Definitely worth the subscription.
This was a great reaction video (and I’ve watched a lot). I love your chemistry together.
Going by Mr Biscuits’ comments regarding what parts he liked and what most captivated him about Ren, I’m guessing he’d really enjoy the Jenny and Screech trilogy. It’s masterful story telling along with the theatrical element, it’s art. Each song is made in one take too. Ren has a single video available with all 3 songs in the correct order, which is really important, In order to understand how the 3 characters tales connect to one another. The reveal is at the very end.
Would really appreciate if the two of you could do a reaction video to it!
Good luck to you both with each of your upcoming music projects.
Yeah - the full Jenny & Screech reaction would be amazing
Absolutely LOVED this reaction .
I just seen a reaction where this amazing talent went straight over their heads.
So it was so nice to see you guys get it, catch what Ren was kickin!
You are two gentlemen, I love the break down of rens meaning and substance through the pair of you guy's ears and eyes, its nice to hear such respectful critique, much respect guy's
I subscribed BECAUSE you played Ren. He is INCREDIBLE and how you lift him up is also incredible. I found you because of Ren.
That MF DOOM shout out gave me goosebumps!
This was a dope reaction.
Ren is pure art!
Yes. MF Doom and Ren are two of my favourites. ❤
Out of the hundreds of Ren reactions I've watched, this is still my favourite. Mr Biscuit's reaction when he starts to sing I Shot The Sheriff is absolutely golden.
The pigs head on a stick is a reference to an old book called "The Lord Of The Flies" `` the pig's head, which is also referred to as Lord of the Flies, another name for the Devil, is a symbol of the beast, which represents evil. ``
Have Mr. Biscuit back for reaction of Ren - The tale of Jenny and Screech. I beg you. It’s a three parter in one video, three songs, one takes, live, that go together to tell a story. So creative.
Thank you for such an intelligent, on point, and fascinating insight into the musical context of the phenomenon that is Ren. Much appreciated. Your appreciation and knowledge increased ours. This is Ren's moment, even though he's suffering his treatments over in Canada and not able to absorb the love waiting for him to bask in, here in the UK
that #DeadPrez tribute always hits the spot whenever I see this #BigPush video 42:49 #HipHop #StillBiggerThanHipHop
4:30 your boy spitting back the lyrics was epic.
Now im listening.
Actually Ren said a lot in Hunger, but your guest missed it because he lacked context of Ren's life, which Hi Ren gave a lot of. If he were to go back and read the lyrics of hunger now that he has some context, he would would realize that Ren was making a lot of sense in Hunger and it was not just a bunch of disconnected words thrown together. Personally I am glad that I listened to Hi Ren first because it made Hunger so very much more enjoyable beyond the demonstration of talent for rap.
That accurately describes the entirity of U.K rap.
"a bunch of disconnected words thrown together"
seriously, I was getting frustrated because he wouldn't get it
surely hope he gives it the attention it deserves
I think a lot of Americans might miss it because of his accent. It takes a minute to get used to the way he pronounces words for most people. But it could also be partly what you said. I just noticed that he was making a face as if he was trying to make the words out. Especially when he goes fast. I have a question. Why does he set off the green and pinkish red smoke bombs? I know he's Welsh and he was born in Wales. The flag is is green and white with a red dragon. I'm just curious if that was a crops to Wales. I googled all this but it wouldn't tell me what the heck the visual of the smoke meant
Not just hi ren but also his twitch streams give hours of him telling stories abt his life (as well as TONS of sick jamming). This makes his music even more enjoyable than it already is.
@@nitroh7745 he went to Bath Spa for music performance. Moved from Wales and started school at Bath when he was 18. 👍
Ren is one of the Greatest Mimic's in history. When all is said and done, he will studied for his ability as a modern Bard. This man can adapt fluidly to any genre it seems, and hit a range of notes reserved for the rare.
And for the MY shout out - don't forget his collab with The Crystal Method for - Drown In The Now. czcams.com/video/vj8g6EqamG4/video.html
Really enjoying the beautiful dialogue here. Ren is brilliant.
Astute gentlemen. Pleasure to watch and listen.
I’m starting to think the pig represents the system, money hungry system.
Also this was sick! Love what you are doing here.
its a direct reference from the book Lord of the Flies, mandatory secondary school reading in Ireland and UK
Perhaps big pharma???
@@krisharne79 oh definitely, he repeatedly has that reference throughout his catalogue.
Super awesome! Loved it! What a great idea to introduce someone to Ren this way - priceless! Hope to see more of this!
Fuck me, Biscuit has one of the best reactions to this song I've seen tbh. "I feel like it would've been disrespectful to pause, even though I wanted to". Thats so fucking powerful XD
simply the best reaction video i have ever seen. thanks. i was new to Ren also. now i have to find more
That smile you get when you know what's coming and your guests don't is infectious.
I must have listened to this track a 100 times, a ton of reactions. The more you listen to it the more you realise its a mini biography of him/his life. He has the hunger, he's made a monster, he's the kiddie with a black heart in the car park by Primark. It's all his life, his illness and youth, not just jamming with random flows which makes me appreciate it more and more
In the hunger he says so much its hard to keep up! Got to check out the lyrics to see if he s just performing amazing Rap gymnastics.
One of my favorite reactions. The chemistry with you and Mr. Biscuit was super dope. Thank you!
Oh my wow!!!! I'm just so happy to have heard of Ren and I am so blown away by his neverending talent ❤️❤️❤️
