Something I picked up on in the video that I haven't seen anyone else mention that I thought you might like: note that Ren has 2 shadows cast in front of him. Also note that the darker of the shadows is on the viewer's left (Ren's "bad side"), but that doesn't make sense in the scene.
Not only is the lamp on the right smaller and dimmer, it is also back behind the bigger lamp into a smaller, recessed, more protected(?) place, so it literally CAN'T produce the shadow on the left. Instead, the source of the darker left shadow can be trace up out of frame via the lens flares pointing straight to the shadow from an out of frame bright light above Ren's "Good Side".
"...and the more intensely the light shone, the darker the shadow it cast ..."
Sorry man but you're still having a problem on the inset video. Every time you hit pause, the sound lags and it builds all the way through.
Really weird to watch by the end.

Real recognizes real quickly. I love that he’s 3 min in and he’s already calling him a superstar.
Breaks my heart every time someone says they want to see Ren perform live, especially at a festival. In his “Love Music Part 1” he talks about playing festivals as one of his musical goals. That was originally written & recorded back in his early days, when he was a mere teenager.
Ren was recently invited to play Glastonbury in Summer 2023. That’s one of the ultimate big deal shows for a poor kid growing up in the UK. Unfortunately he can’t go because his treatment in Canada is taking longer than he’d originally anticipated.
I hope & pray that his Lyme treatment gets him to the point where he can perform again & that I somehow get a chance to see him. I can’t travel to many countries but I’ll do my best to go just about anywhere I can afford, money &/or health-wise because I have a feeling there won’t be many chances to catch his shows. 💜🎉
A little while ago Ren asked his subscribers what kind of show they'd like to see if he went on tour or did venue performances. So it's definitely on his mind. I also hope it becomes a reality!
This was one of my favourite guests for the Ren rollercoaster! Stevie recognised how talented the man is after almost no time into Hi Ren. He could already see that Ren can do so much more than the already crazy amount of talent he shows in that. Was very cool to see! Would love to see him continue down the Ren rabbit hole ❤
I have only see one... just one... negative reaction to Ren. Most people are in so much awe, they forget to even speak. I have been performing, associated with, and writing music most of my 47 years on this planet and can say, Ren is just cut different from the 1000s of performers I have encountered in my life.
I was going to say almost exactly the same thing. Stevie's appreciation was almost instant, knowledgeable, and authentic. This was the first time I teared up because of someone else's reaction to hearing Ren. You could tell that it was resonating at a heart level. Then he started talking about frequency and how obvious it was that Ren was one with the music. Ren doesn't just write and perform it beautifully. He and the music are melded together.
Thanks @BlackPegasus for sharing in this format. Stevie was definitely one of my favorite of your guests. I don't think you could ask him to wait to watch more. Like so many of us, he was immediately hooked and headed dish the rabbit hole.

He's mentioned he wants to eventually get into film directing and sees his music as a stepping stone to that end goal.
@BrandonWestfall I can't imagine him stopping music for that, it's jammed way too deep in the mans bones. I have no doubt he can rock them both at once though.
He'll end up being the only big time movie director to make their award winning soundtracks, too.
The most telling of clue of how great Ren is is that he captures you so fully that a 9-minute song ends too quick, leaving you wanting it to not end yet. A lot of artists can't do that with 5 or 6 minutes.
Without a doubt. I used to complain about long songs and got bored quickly. Ren, regardless of the song length, has me captivated; wondering what direction he is going to take it.
These introductions to Ren are easily becoming my favorite to watch.
From the moment Ren started playing you saw Stevie Stone soften and embrace what he was hearing. Awesome to see such a genuine connection.

The Eagles was my Dad's favourite band, I don't listen to them much because it reminds me of him and when I think lf him I just break down. I am almost breaking down now typing this. The last time I saw him alive he was watching The Eagles. That was on Christmas Day 2021. ❤

It feels like most Hi Ren reactions are like that. People get fully immersed in the experience and don't even realize it's a 9min long song.

Busking isn't just any outdoor performance. It's street performing. Singers, dancers, jugglers, close-up magicians, etc etc etc.
So cool how quickly he realized Ren's talent. Awesome!

BUSKING is not just an outdoor performance, it’s street music for donations. (Musical begging in the case where they are not so talented) Buskers always have a hat or open guitar case for the audience to put money in.
Grass roots music, talent often start that way, or in small, independent music venues, open mic night, opportunities of all generations to jam together with other musicians of all ages, backgrounds and experience.
@@SuzanneO707 also worth noting that busking can be a profession - in London, for example, you need a license to do it, and so buskers here are usually extremely talented musicians who make (at least some of) their living this way.

In "Hi Ren", the line "..break the fourth wall" is actually a term from theatre, when the performers switch to speaking to the audience. I thought that was pretty cool when I found out what it meant..

SUPER reaction! I don't think the earring thing is intentional but I think him having removed his cross earring a little while ago was intentional. I believe he may have watched an interview with NF and NF was a little annoyed that he himself had been pigeonholed into Christian rap or rock or whatever and I think Ren wants to avoid that. I know he searches and takes what he believes from whatever religion and that he just thinks we should all be good to each other regardless of what religion we belong to.

Brighton is on another level for busking. Most places, people just walk past and occasionally drop some money in the guitar case, but in Brighton, legit crowds will gather and stay. I guess it's like that in a lot of seaside towns where people aren't really going anywhere in particular.
