The line "Fortune never favors the old". Refers to by the time you build up such an Empire you have to give it away. You cannot take it with you to the grave.
"Cathartic music with intense poetry." One of the most accurate descriptions I've ever heard of them and I have been a maggot since '99! Hit the nail right on the head!👍👍🔥🔥
Literally nothing better then relieving some stress in the shower listening to slipknot and then Alex posts a slipknot reaction? Ion think my day can get any better😂
Lech is one of the other tunes talking about the guilt in your guts, and just taking a look at yourself, and basically beating yourself up for having these very human feelings." "In the grief process you can get angry at himself, and you can also get angry at the person that you lost - this person that you love so much - and when you lose them you get really angry, whether it's about their choices on the fact that you couldn't help them, and is a certain amount of survivor's guilt that comes with that,". "Why is he gone and not me? It's an amalgam of just outrageous, just insane grief that really drives you into a bunch of different crazy positions, and Lech is about that." "And 'Lech' refers to the word 'lecherous,'". "It lets you feel like you're a bad person, and you have to fight your way through that, and it's a long process, but once you cut them out the other side of it you feel a lot better for it."
For me, this is the best album that will help you with the pain of someone who have gone to the other life, every single song has a pretty deep meaning.
Not gonna lie, it’s been a long time since I’ve heard this track, to the point I forgot it existed. Slipknot got me into heavy metal this year, but this album I wouldn’t sit through front to back, Lech is way more amazing than I ever gave it credit for!
Yeah, finally! Been waiting for this for so long. When you first time hear Slipknot, you either fell in love with them or you probably won't like them at all.
I think what he's talking about when corey says 'fortune never favours the old" is elders work most of their lives to earn money but the time they retire they have nothing to live on as the pension money they get isn't enough and all their savings will go quickly. Also check out these 2 songs on the same album *goodbye * the one that kills the least
man I have always loved how you either give your interpretation of the song or you read what the song is about before/after listening to the song. love u alex
Alex you must react to the band Vended, they did a 10 min show at the pulse of the maggots online festival. The band have Griffin Taylor, the son of Corey taylor as the vocalist and Simon Crahan the son of slipknot's clown as the drummer. Looking forward to it. Keep up the good work
Alex, as a fellow Texan you should try Upon A Burning Body, they are a band from Texas. They have a song called Texas Bloody Money. It's metal about Texas pride.
Well the grey chapter is about Paul Grey deceased formal bass player (i think they started this album some time after his death) so it makes sense that the lyrics would be like that, and you have reacted to The Devil in I (which is in this album as well) and in the video for that song they had Jay Weinburg for a drummer (which he left due to his health atm) and Vman for bass not replacing Paul but sharing a position that could never be filled. (correct me if I'm wrong maggots)
Spiritbox - Blessed Be! Or Rules of Nine or Bleach Bath. Heck include the Mara Effect trilogy as well! Holy Roller is great but not a good introduction to the band. They have a lot better song.
"The fires burn on the summit, Shining a light on the one's I've killed. Survivor's guilt undetermined, I could murder the world with all the blood I've spilled!"
YES!! Thank you so much, Alex!! Thank you for finally continuing the album reaction. Been waiting for a long time for you to do it, but it was totally worth the wait! \m/
You said cathartic at the end and my brain went automatically to Machine head - Catharsis. To which I recommend you check out sir ;) But great tune so underrated 😁
YESSS!!! I Have been waiting for EVAH! For more Slipknot reactions!! Please react to This Light I hold by Memphis may Fire I guarantee that you will love it!
Hi, dude, love your videos! And, "Fortune never favors the old" It migh me something related to the fact that the ones before us suffered much more than ourselfs, so It wouldn't make sense to count on it.
Dude there's a new video out called "Grab 'em' by the pyongyang" by Nuclear Power Trio, dude you're gonna love it so much, it just came out but it's already famous.
You have got me into Slipknot, and I thank you for that. I don't know why I haven't given them a listen before. Knew of them but never checked out their stuff until I heard Psychosocial. Love that song and definitely have enjoyed this band. I have two of their CD's and definitely need to get more in my collection like yesterday.
Lech is that album’s most underrated song along with Nomadic
Facts
Nomadic is my favorite slipknot song
Fucking preeeeaaaach
Nomadic is one of their catchiest songs.
Fr i love them
The line "Fortune never favors the old". Refers to by the time you build up such an Empire you have to give it away. You cannot take it with you to the grave.
You gotta listen to Gematria. One of the most underrated Slipknot songs in my opinion.
Yea that song is badass 🤘🤘
Great song!
Great riffs from gematria
And vendetta
Gematria is top 5 in my book. Fantastic song.
Seriously Slipknot is the reason I love Nu Metal. Their sound is so unique - you can't describe it other than "this is Slipknot".
Yep i thought u forgot but glad u didn't, can't wait for ur CUSTER reaction
Custer is a killer song, i have the t shirt
Cut, cut, cut me up and fuck, fuck, fuck me up!!!
One of my favorites from them.
I hope he does the reaction
YES do custer
Slipknot - The Nameless
Criminally underrated
I feel like this is one of the most diverse songs
The song that proves how necessary Chris is
Oh fuck yes we need this
@@andrewmurray529 well, sure. Chris is needed but Michael is slowly working his way up to Chris's level of vocals.
Too bad they didn't play Lech live. They probably won't. They need a live show of the deep tracks.
They haven't played nomadic live either have they
maybe its too hard to play it live
@@piotrek5946 lech isn't that hard. Nomadic I can understand because of the solo but lech is mainly 0s and 1s
Nomadic is a great song 🤘🤘..The Virus of Life would be cool to see as well.
They don't really play anything of the Gray Chapter anymore - at least not in February...
I saw slipknot and I clicked so fast
aswell
Same

*BEFORE I FORGET THAT*

sounds like somebody's having a DOPE ASS DAY
You're not gonna believe this... But me too😂 killpop, solway firth, the negative one, dead memories, and the nameless.
"ion"?? lets act like we go to school and actually spell shit out

Yessss 🔥🔥🔥

Yeah its one of my favorite slipknot song
One of the best.

You HAVE to react to “the art of dying” by GOJIRA! One of the best experiences ever is listening to that song for the first time or any time
ESPECIALLY LIVE frankly Gojira should be listened to live rather than the record. I enjoy the records buuut the live performances are where its at.
If you would like to hear an eerie and super creepy song you should react to Prosthetics by Slipknot
That’s one of my favorites...
Killer track. Love it. Drums are killing it in this one 🤘
If you didnt know the Gray Chapter is a full tribute to Paul Gray every member wrote a song to him
“Lech” is the only song of the Gray Chapter that I often listen to. By for the best track on the album for me.
Slipknot - If Rain is What you want
I think the same
Another proof of Corey's capability to write amazing lyrics
Yeah, finally! Been waiting for this for so long.
When you first time hear Slipknot, you either fell in love with them or you probably won't like them at all.
Awesome song. Hope you do more slipknot reactions
Brrrrrah react to "if rain is what you want" you won't regret it
Please do "If Rain is What You Want" by Slipknot next. Super underrated but one of their bests IMO
notice when he says: "can you feel the cold?". It seems the guitar responds "I can feel it"
I think what he's talking about when corey says 'fortune never favours the old" is elders work most of their lives to earn money but the time they retire they have nothing to live on as the pension money they get isn't enough and all their savings will go quickly.

Your description of the song is spot on all songs have something to do with the death of Paul grey which is why it’s called the grey chapter
I love that opening line. So bad ass
