I will say however, the album version is longer and honestly a better version than the video one.

This is my favorite song of slipknot
On this album they recored in an actual haunted house and on the studio recording there are random noises at the end of the song. While recording the song those noises started playing out of nowhere and they kept it and put it on Vermillion and Before I Forget

Before I read what Corey said about this song I thought it was about him getting sober, with the “she” being both the alcohol/drugs and the idea of sobriety

The way the did the video was they made the actress move very very slow while everything was in the background at normal speed. It was then speed up to normal moving speed giving a stop motion look while keeping everything smooth and not choppy in the background

Interestingly, I've always felt that the video is about depression. Just laying in the bed for days. Fixating on one source of happiness and when it matures and metamorphosises in its own world and eventually, naturally, moves on from being around us, it just brings a further crashing. Everything around you seems to be succeeding, growing, moving at a faster pace, while you're just stuck or growing very slowly. And slipknot, the masked for the world, are open to us and understand us. And as an escape we lend our time and ears to them and for a brief moment of time, everything is okay. And at the end, when our source of happiness visits us again, distraught and dysfunctional, we schedule our falling apart for another day.
I love the song. I love the video. I always related to it.

Umm I don't think this is about a victim and a killer (metaphorically, maybe), I think it's more about a person in a relationship with someone that they put on such a high pedestal that is beyond unrealistic, but in their eyes..they are perfect, amazing, incredible..I think Vermilion 1 and 2 are a story of a person coming to realization that the person he loved so much, might only be a fiction of his blinded love.. And "she isn't real, he can't make her real"..

Or may be “She” means the imaginary friend that he created. So he cannot build up the emotions towards her, because he knows that she isn’t real.
I think it's both. It's a murderer who is having this neurosis over a girl, being obsessed with her, sickening love he feels for her, and probably can't be with her, so he is having this neurosis over killing her if she can't have her.
"I won't let this build up inside of me" might mean the killer doesn't want to fall more in love with her victim enough to have second thoughts.

This song actually has a lot of personal meaning to me. A long time ago I went for a ride with my friend in his car because he had to tell me something. He told me that my gf was seen kissing another guy. This song was playing in the background,and right when he said that was when Corey started saying "I won't let this build up inside of me." I honestly think it's more than just coincidence. Thank you for your time.

Love that you picked this song bro. Gotta warn you though, lots of official music videos cut out portions of songs for a "radio edit". This song was missing a bit of solo, a small section before a drum refrain, and a couple bars of screaming at the end. Changes the feel of the song pretty dramatically, particularly the climax. Other than that dude, nice review, hyped for part 2
