- We see it everyday. A sprinkler head leaking water constantly. Most of the time it’s not the sprinkler head that’s bad....

I’m a licensed landscaper, and this video was very precise and clear, thank you guys
Thank you for the compliment. We will continue to try our best to provide clear and simple videos!
Great video, thanks for the very detailed and patient explanation. I appreciate you taking the time to explain everything at a slow pace instead of rushing through it. Did not need to rewatch steps back and forth. Thank you!
Thank you for making and posting this video. Wife can leave me alone now...
Haha
So glad I came across this video - it seems to address the issue I have with my leaking valve. I think the way the instructions were put across is superb. Thank you!
Great to hear!
very good video - your speaking is super-clear and easy to follow instructions - well thought out!
Agreed! Great presentation! 👍🏽
Great video - clear, to the point, easy to understand. I've got a nearly new valve that's leaking like the one in this video, and I highly suspect there's debris stuck in there because I had to modify the PVC plumbing that was leading up to it. Probably got some PVC bits in there. Never knew it was this easy to check it out. Thank you!!
“Bo Knows” Sprinklers! Thank you bro.
Thank you so much for making this video, I was struggling with sprinklers leaking for over two weeks, i saw you video last night and today I fixed the problem, just like you show it in your great video. Thanks again
Information was very clear. For 17 years sprinklers were leaking and the Gardner was unable to find a permanent solution. After watching the clip, I was able to solve the issue permanently. Thank you for the detailed clip.
Very clear, concise and informative video. Thanks so very much!😊
Nice video! Very helpful. Thanks!
This was exactly my problem. Thank you for posting this. It was very helpful.
This helps a lot, in particular taking off the anti-syphon cap. Great timesaver and takes the guesswork out. Thank you!
After days of browsing around for videos I finally came across this video, it’s precise, easy and well explained! Thank you so much you Just save money 🙌🏼
Me too got my valve cleared from what looked like bits of steel or iron (rusted bits), I would have never thought to take the cap off or those 6 screws to peek inside, thanks for taking the time to make this video, I know it's not a simple process and I appreciate that.
Great video, very helpful, excellent walk-through for checking a leak. Thank you
This video is awesome, I didn’t think of debris causing my intermittent leak! Thank you!
I’ve watched a bunch of similar videos preparing to troubleshoot a steady leak on a zone, and this video is concise but with all the details you need to fully understand. Thanks!
An excellent and informative training video. Well done.
You just saved me money AND most importantly time. Thank you so much. Also...pretty sweet no look cap replacement. Lol
Thank you. This fixed my issue with a leaky drip system
Thank you! Your video was awesome and helped us fix our problem super fast.
Liked and subscribed. Thank you for your video - it was the only one I could find that showed me the problem I had and how to fix it. I followed your directions - turned water off, unscrewed the 6 screws, turned water on to flush it, turned it back off, screwed cover back on and wham, problem solved.
Thanks a lot sir! It works and I can save a lot of water! Really appreciate your video. You just helped the community. God Bless! 🙏
Excellent explanation and demonstration sir!
Thanks, your instruction help me fix my leak.
Great video. Little talking. Showing process. Great to the point explanations. And now time for me to go check my valve
Nice video with great details and instructions. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you maestro, you've saved me a lot of time!!
Thanks Chris. Great video. Great explanation.
Thank you! This really helped. I replaced the sprinkler head and it was still leaking. Went and checked the valve and it wasn’t all the way off
Mines been leaking for a year. Thank you it was debris in diaphragm no more leaks!
Thank you! You just saved me a lot of digging!
Great video!! Explained my problem exactly!! Thanks so much!!!
Great video. I didn’t know that it was that simple. Thanks man.
Thank you for the clear explanation! Much appreciated!
Chris, this was awesome. HOWEVER, my valves are in subterranean vaults filled with 14 years of debris. In order to perform this check, I first need to excavate one vault... and find the other under the grass somewhere in my yard. The joy of being the second owner of my house. I will never understand why Florida allowed these valves to be put below grade. However, once I dig my way in, I will know what to do. Thanks for a great How-To!
Your video helped me today. Thank you!
Thank you, Short and sweet. And correct...
Thank you! Wonderful video. Helped out a lot.
It worked! Thank you!
On point diagnosis. Thanks, man!
Thank you, great video and detailed instructions.
Thank you ! Very helpful...and precise.
I do not recommend using the drill to put the screws back in. You'll strip the plastic. Using a manual screwdriver you turn the screw backwards to find the grove, then drive.
excellent explanation! Your second calling in life should be as an instructor. You are the best and much appreciated for your time and knowledge.
Great video, helped me fix this issue. Thank you 👍
Good explanation! Thank you so much
Very clear explanation.
Thank you for your video, I found it very helpful.
4:11 clear and concise. Thanks a lot
Very appreciated. THANK YOU.
So helpful.
Really useful. Thank you!
Thanks man ! Super helpful
Thank you so much! You saved me thou6of dollars and a scam! I was able to fix it myself!❤
Great video thank you!
Awesome job thank you
Thank you so much you did help with this tutorial
Solved my problem. Thanks :)
Thank you very much! I had a sprinkler head that has had a very slow but steady leak for that past couple weeks at least. I noticed it a while back but it was so small and I didn’t have time to do anything. Watched this video, followed the steps and the leak has stopped now.
Glad it helped
Good stuff, thank you!
It worked! Thanks!
Thank you that helped
Great video, thanks
Thank you! I will try this tomorrow, I am hoping to not have to dig up the whole manafold
You have no idea how much you helped me and my family. God bless you my friend.
Excellent video. I will add 1 thing. Often the diaphragm will just wear out. Especially if they get lots of sun. I’ve had to replace many diaphragms just bc they wear out. You can buy these at most home improvement stores.
Thank you!!
Thank you sir
Cut the volume up thanks Paul. Have a good night.
Thank you
Hey great video. I cleaned out my valve like you said. I didn't see any debris or ripped seals, but it's still leaking. What do I do now? Replace the valve? I even opened the anti-siphon valve like you said and it seems stable. I also don't hear running water.
Well done....
Thanks!
Great video! I have 4 sprinklers connected to 1 valve. Only 1 sprinkler head is constant water leak. Why only 1 sprinkler head is leaking. Thanks for any answers.
When did Daniel Cormier start doing irrigation?😂
thank you for that explanation of why my sprinkler continuously is leaking. I will check the diaphragm and anti siphon in the morning and should be all set!
What if after doing this plus replacing the sprinkler head still keeps leaking???
Thankyou
Do I keep the valve in the "ON" position or "OFF" position?
Would this type of failure only leak at the lowest height sprinkler head in the system? The one closest the valvle?
I have a leaking orbit impact sprinkler. When I turn off the main it stops when I turn the main on but the stations are off it leaks.
Do I need to shut off my water before I take off the anti siphon cap?
I have a seperate pipe that by passes the main water shutoff. So I just turn off the water pipe leading to the sprinlker system.
Snug the screws with a drill?
Si, the antiphon valve can make ONE sprinkler head leak, while the other on that same line work fine?
Great Video.
What is the solution for leaking anti siphon valves. No sprinklers are leaking. How do you know if the valve is bad or as your video explains how to clean out the debris. Is this a regular maintenance to do on the valves. Mine are leaking off and on; and have cleaned them which did stop the leaking valve temporarily.
I have had conflicting advice. Install type of inline filter, and or with filters on each valve. The system is two years with 17 valves watering 2 acres.
It’s wasn’t cheap. Done by a professional landscaper.
One valve failed and I replaced it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
If you somehow got debris in the water, then an inline filter will catch it. Over time, the filter will get clogged and need replacing/cleaning, but the only issue will be poor performing sprinklers. You can install a filter on the main going to all of the valves or on each one, both would work.
For my old house, built in the 60s, this will be an annual maintenance I perform. When I opened the anti-siphon valve, I saw chunks of rusted steel. I ran the water once to clear it, then grabbed a magnet and got the rest. Given the age of the pipes, this will certainly happen again. I
I have about 3 valves that when turned on, water flows out of the anti-syphon side. If no debris or damage is apparent on the diaphragm, I presume it all has to be replaced?
Ya your best bet it to completely replace the valve. Could be “backflow” but that’s a whole other box of worms.
My sprinkler heads leak only while they are on. Water bubbles up from the ground when it running,
Looks like the back of Windsong
I bought a house with an old water irrigation system that isn't working anymore and leaking. Does anyone know how much it cost to remove the old system?
Also, nobody’s valves are above ground where I live.
I had this condition and after opening the valve noticed the diaphragm was kind of brittle, so I got a kit and replaced it. How old would you say a diaphragm would be before it needs replacing? Mine was almost 20 years.
Most fail by 15 years.
If you have a head leaking with a slow leak on the top, would the valve to flush always be the valve that controls the leaking head?
Yes that’s a good idea
Do you service SW Florida, lol. Just a short drive from Cali.... Gonna try your suggestion now and will let you know if it worked for me. Update: Bit of bad luck and calling a sprinkler man. When I opened the box with the valves, it was making a lot of noise yet most of it is buried under dirt....way above my pay grade but I do enjoy making DIY repairs whenever possible. This one just isn't possible :)
Hope it works out.
Florida is to humid for us
I haven't been able to locate my valve. Are there any tips/tricks for cleaning a slowly-leaking valve buried in the ground?
Hire a company with a wire/valve locator.
👍🏾
What if your system doesn't have anti-siphon cap??
Your outta luck
Haha. Is this Frank Thomas?
