    Great Video, I moved to Spain and fish about six miles of river around me, the great thing with a Centre pin . No Electric Bite Alarms and I fish with the same Reals as you.
    I thought that your Rod was a Old Century. As I used to be sponsored by Century years ago. Why not go the Hole hog and fish with A Cane Rod as you can feal the curve of the Rod right through to the But.
    My Rod's are Chapman's 500's and a split cane Avon Rod . The best thing I did was moving to Spain as I can fish and not see a sole all day and I don't get tired of my Own company .
    When you have a Reputation as a Carp Angler you get a lot of Jealousy, I had other anglers casting into my swim and over my lines.
    No fishing Etiquette and after escaping with my life after a crack off with a Lead from an other angler on the opposite Bank , that's when it was time for a move.
    Try a Cane Rod with Centre Pin. Take care and be lucky, from The Crazy Hippie.

    Well here i am sitting in my living room sulking cos i cant go fishing till tuesday and you bring this beautiful video. Mikey everything about this vid is just magic to me. I cant be near my carp gear as in rods alarms boilies etc. Ive had 29 carp over 20lb and id say 15 of them as been on avon rods. My second biggest was actually on an avon. Oh and love the carp on mat with corn and rod make a lovely pic. Showing thats all you need for our beautiful sport or leisure what you want to call it. Lake i fish now has nice little swims 1 rod jobs i use paste they love it. Ive got 10ft tfgear compact comercial float rod Believe it or not matt hayes just done a vid with it. He catches a 37lb carp off the top on it. The vid is called catch a fourty ln 24hrs. But its actually got to catch a 20lber off top then a 20lber on bottom. Amazing exciting vid. Tight lines and many more like this please.

    Hi mate. Absolutely love the video. I wondered if you could help with the float for carp? Do you plumb up the area before you lay the bait in, are you on bottom? And do you fish line straight through or with a lighter hooking? Thanks mate, any help would be great.

    • @Mikeyboofboof
      @Mikeyboofboof  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Glad you enjoyed the video Rob. Definitely have your bait hard on the bottom. I fish with a lift float setup, so a couple of heavy shot are on the lake bed, you can then tighten down slightly to cock the float, which should be a tiny bit overdepth. No hook links for me-I keep it simple and fish a heavy reel line straight through when targeting larger carp. Hope this helps🙂

    Really nice video my friend. I know it's a few years ago now, and I don't want to know the place, but was it a typical commercial carp water? I ask, as you fished very simply, no hair and yet still had great takes off the fish, and no fool hooked fish, well done, amazing film.

      @Taz6688 Před 3 měsíci

      Simple ways still work, I fished a small club lake, more of a pond really, people were throwing 3 and 4 ounce leads, close to the island and a small piece of water between the other small island, right under the bank you could see movement, sitting watching you could see loads of carp patrolling the edges, simple float and small bait dropped close to the edge caught within minutes, people think everywhere needs 3lbs test curve rods and 4 ounce leads, too much telly fishing.

      @Mikeyboofboof  Před 4 lety

      Thomas Hofmeester Thanks for your comment Thomas and glad you enjoyed the video (check out my second carp video too if you’ve not seen it). They are fairly simple and it’s easy to learn the basics, but the more you use them the more skills you learn. I learned using a TFG reel that was very good, but there are lots of older ones available second hand at a good price. Don’t be scared of buying second hand-if looked after they last forever, so age isn’t a problem. When learning it can be good to use a reel with a line guard to help reduce tangled. Best of luck with your fishing!
