    It's good to see players still uploading character builds from this GOAT fantasy RPG. I would say that the 2 handed warrior is my all time fave build for the crowd control and general ability to tank and stay standing. I also prefer champion and berserk (see my profile pic). For the main game, I aim for Starfang (5 fire/5 cold/master SR)Helm of Honnleath, Evon the Great's mail, warden commander boots and gloves of diligence (so I loose any set bonus but individually it works). My accessories match yours at 5:50. I have been through the game 10+ times on Nightmare, usually with a warrior of some sort.

    A good alternative to the Chasind Great Maul I’d say is the Nug Crusher it may be a lower tier but you cannot deny +100 stamina

      @@theinquisitorisamage1653 sadly you can only get the Nug Crusher with RTO lol but it’s still really good for any two-handed build lol because you literally have infinite stamina. I would also recommend Yusaris too. It’s a very good weapon especially early game

      So we’re 70 hours in pretty much the next day I accidentally switched to nightmare difficulty and never noticed, I’m about to finish up and goto the landsmeet rn just catching up on some side quests and god I will say I’m gonna miss playing this character when I finally get through the dlc like awakening. I’ve always went with swords but really the maul was worth the investment. I was constantly carrying the whole team even when they had better equipment, ran with alistar Templar champion wynne SH/AW and leliana bard/ranger and it’s honestly just not even fair. Jarvia was literally the only challenge after getting wynne. Gaxkang was an easy farm, all the mobs easy. I made it a dwarf and had a hard time role playing bc I was trying to have the “best endings” but that’s a consequence of being my first play through in 4 years lolol

  • @dexternelson
    @dexternelson Před 3 lety +2

    Survival skill is actually a passive bonus if you go all the way for a total of +25 nature resistance and +2 physical resistance. If goes 1 +5, 2 +5, 3 +5, 4 +10 and +2 physical resistance, and you can detect almost everything.
    On my warrior builds I tend max out poisons as well and use both bombs and apply poison buffs to my weapons.
    On Nightmare this is a must for me lol. At rank 4, Concentrated Demonic Poison does an addition +10 spirit damage per hit and it's cheap to make. Quiet Death is a menace. It deals +10 nature damage and has a 55% chance to instantly kill non-elite targets at 20% total health or less - per hit.
    For bombs I tend to use Soulrot bomb (+80 AOE damage to all creatures) and because it has friendly-fire possible, I usually put my party on hold, run up to them and throw it (having max survival skill helps for the early detection so you can set it up).

    • @theinquisitorisamage1653
      @theinquisitorisamage1653 Před 3 lety +1

      Awesome info! Any idea if Quiet Death works against the Archdemon? I've been crafting like crazy trying to prep for the fight.

    • @dexternelson
      @dexternelson Před 3 lety

      @@theinquisitorisamage1653 The damage does, but no instant kill effects work against "final boss" types. It will against mini bosses though.
      So basically anything with a super health bar like Flemeth, etc. is a no. Anything with a yellow name bar like ogres, alphas, etc. yes.
      I usually don't craft a whole lot for the sake of bag space. My strategy is usually to quick save before combat, run up to see what's in the mob, then quick load and craft for that fight.

    • @theinquisitorisamage1653
      @theinquisitorisamage1653 Před 3 lety +1

      @@dexternelson Thank you so much!
      And yeah, bag-space is aggravating to deal with - I have the Ultimate Edition, so I usually make a bee-line to Solider's Peak to get the storage box after leaving Lothering.
      I don't tend to craft as much unless I need to, and it's usually health/lyrium potions. I never played around with poisons or traps, but I've been curious about them.

    • @dexternelson
      @dexternelson Před 3 lety +1

      @@theinquisitorisamage1653 Actually early in the game, you can get to backpacks.
      In Ostagar, before you do into the wilds, you can buy one from the shop, and after you return from the wilds, before you go to the meeting it will be there again IF you have enough gold.
      And, the first time you go to camp with Bodan, his items are doubled like that too.
      First time you go to camp, and before you leave for the first time, he will have a backpack, and after you leave the first time and come back, he will have it again.
      The trick is to have enough crap to sell in order to have enough to buy them 3 times so early in the game.
      Usually I loot everything, pick pockets (not always successfully), farm all the herbs I can and use morrigan to craft potions and sell those in Lothering.
      Most times I have enough to get them all.
      And I don't go to the camp the first time until I have enough to buy it.

    • @theinquisitorisamage1653
      @theinquisitorisamage1653 Před 3 lety +1

      @@dexternelson I had no idea about Ostagar! I knew about Bodhan, because at one point I was pretty confused when I went to sell him some stuff - I think I bought the Bard Shoes or something, and there they were again.
      The one time I tried to pick a pocket was at Ostagar - it was Loghain's guard, and I got caught. Never tried it again after that.
      I know that you can sell Lyrium Potions for a good chunk of cash, but is it the same for Injury Kits? 'Cause I got a load of 'em I still haven't used up yet.
      If, and this is a pretty massive IF, I find an item that has a codex entry (example: that Orleasian armor you find in Orzammar, I forget what it's called) then I'll use the money-glitch to get it. I only get enough to buy the item though.

    Persuasion checks are managed by your cunning stat. Every 25 points brings you up to the next level of persuasion. Coercion gives you a bonus to persuasion as if you had 25 more points in cunning than you actually do. If you had put 3 points into cunning to bring you to 25, then you would only need three points in coercion to get you to the perfect 100 persuasion.
    Alternatively, if you're playing a rogue who goes all in on cunning, it's very easy to brake 100 points in Awakening, at which point you don't need coercion at all!

      @@ChoppedCelery It's actually fun for me to see the Xbox version because at least I get to see the differences between pc and Xbox. Indomitable is apparently way better on pc, because when you get Shield Bashed or someone War Cries you, you dont get any effect. Not even this knock-back 18:47 that you have on Xbox.

    What truly irritates me is that they don't just give you numbers on what the abilities do! I could make a good even godly build if they did but nooo I am forced to quite literally play like 3 plus playthroughs to find out what each does and even with scaling or what have you of weapons and attributes I'm still not getting exacts. That isn't even including mage... mage :( that is blatantly stupid of them to do and the only reason I have bothered is because Bioware made a truly amazing game yet again at the same time lmao
