- For this video, we review the little brother of the Huawei Matepad Pro -- the Huawei MatePad. The tablet comes with the company's FullView display and should prove useful whether it's for online classes, working on the go, or media consumption.
This 10.4-inch Huawei MatePad also came with the Huawei M-Pencil which simply stretches the tablet's capabilities further. And with the company's AppGallery and Petal Search widget, apps are easily available to install even though Google Play Store is not accessible.

if the m pencil isn't connected via bluetooth with my matepad---- the battery is drained or not? Because my M-pencil loses battery even when my matepad is turned off.

That was the default when you use the tablet in landscape mode. Check your settings :)

Thanks. We just tried purchasing an app on a non-Huawei device and used Huawei's Phone Clone app to copy it to the MatePad. The purchased app now works on the MatePad. Hope that helps.

Yup, the USB Type-C charger of the M-Pencil is included in the box.
What about note taking with the M-pencil? is it good for writing small notes? can you underline with it?
It's able to translate messy handwriting into text even with small characters. Underlining is also possible for your own notes.

does it have cellular option? how easy it is to connect a keyboard or mouse to it ? is there some official compatible keyboard from Huawei for the matepad? I am a university student so my main aim is to take notes thru the stylus and watch videos. So how good is the stylus on it's own and compared to other tablets like the iPad and Samsung galaxy tab S6 ?
Yes, it does have support for a single SIM. For keyboard and mouse, it's basically plug and play when you connect them through OTG cable, super easy. Writing notes using the M-Pencil is also easy and even though I personally have bad handwriting, the software can still read and turn them into text. I havent tried drawing or writing notes on the iPad but Im guessing it's more streamlined than the MatePad. Hope that helps!

Would you "trust" a tablet like the Mediapad 10.4 (non-Pro) model in terms of updates, installing apps (since it has no Play Store) and emulator games compared to say an old Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 or S5e?
Yeah of course. With older devices, the problem is sometimes lack of support so I'd still trust tablets like the MediaPad.

Hi, the M-Pencil charger comes with the MatePad bundle from Huawei PH. Apart from that, we're not sure if it's sold separately.

No desktop version but supports Multi Screen Collab. All those things you mentioned can be done on the MatePad, all without Desktop Mode. But if you want that dekstop feel then go for the Pro. :)

Built-in note-taking app works well. Lots of good third-party apps for this device too like Bamboo Paper.

It does work well, but there's still sometimes a little dot from ur palm. I think u can get used to it.

Galaxy Tab S5e has desktop mode which the MatePad doesnt have. But it's a bit more expensive. So it depends on your budget :)

the s5e have dex and better amoled screen but way weaker cpu. they have the same quad speaker though

Yes, it has a gyro sensor.
I would use it as a drawing device, I want to see more evidence that the pressure sensitivity is up to making high quality sketches
We'd say this tablet would do well for good details on sketches, but if you're going for large scale digital renders with a lot of fine details we think it would be better if you invest on premium ones.

Just search up a video on utube
And before u watch it u should look at the comments to confirm if it actually works or not. But u can also simply put a shortcut from the website on the homescreen. That's how I personally do it with my huawei phone. Google Photos are no problem at all. U can still download the pictures to your device 😉

Yes you can
Can i install Google Classroom and Zoom for online class?
Google Classroom app doesnt run on the tablet but you can still access it through web page. Zoom downloads and works fine.

How do you install gdrive and gmail ?
You can install these apps through APK but as we said, you won't be able to open them. Using them on your browser works fine.
What will you suggest? Tempered glass with paper like screen protector? Or paper like sp without tempered glass? Which is which? 🤣 Quite confused what to do with my matepad. I'm afraid that it will scratch the screen. TIA for the reply. Great review, btw! Very informative. :)
Personal opinion is to just settle for the paper-like screen protector if you have the Folio case with the MatePad. The case should be enough to protect the tablet when it accidentally falls off a table or something. Hope that helps :)

More than just thickness, having higher pressure sensitivity also offers smoother gradients for colors depending on how hard or soft the strokes are.

We'd say yes since the size is just right plus it has good speakers if you decide to not use headphones.

in my opinion is a very flimsy device, the m-pencil stopped working in one week, i bought a new one, because its customer service is really bad and i needed it to work and again is not working. I do not recommend it
