The Huawei MatePad 10.4 is an Android tablet that you can get with the M Pencil which is an optional pen. While that stylus works okay, it is far from great. Most other aspects are very good though. The performance is fantastic for its price, the screen is pretty, and the speakers sound pleasing.
With that being said, the Google Play Store, Gmail, Chrome, CZcams, and the Google Services are missing. That is a huge downside and that is why I cannot recommend it for most.

I have Matepad 10.4 Refresh 4/128 with kirin 820. And 1 months ago it was upgraded to HarmonyOs officially. It's unbelievable. Believe me, it's twice faster than galaxy tab s6 lite..
What stylus u use
@@rabbanitrimeza1269 now I use official stylus Huawei Mpencil, coz I need pressure for drawing and hand writing. If you don't need pressure sensitivity, u can use universal active stylus, passive stylus also work well.

@@TamjidShafiq i can't recommend which one should you buy, coz there to many "generic passive and active stylus" you can choose and will work just fine.
Ya you pay 200$ more to buy same for samsung! or other companies which are clearly overpriced.! just as US making a big issue out of Huwaei for some weird reasons? well they are afraid that Huwaei is able to gain market shares at a shorter time. Ive used all of the products so far, Huwaei have proved to be worthy. US are so jealous about Huwaei's achievement in 5G tech, they are worried. Huawei makes good products, Big companies just worried that they cant compete with this . Why do u need google play store. There are other options. lets make way for more healthy competition rather what just google and apple.

@@scraggybear absolutely mate, there is Petal search, which lets you download stuff like watsapp. Ive been using huwaie phone for 2 years and its so much better than others and you get it for half of the price to Samsung and iphone etc.

i have the s6 lite and the matepad. matepad is much faster and i dont mind if i watch it on a web browser, for me speed is important

In tablets there is no problem with apps. I prefer using the browser. And for me, CZcams experience in browser is very good. (Better than app, for example to use volume separated, PIP). The best thing about tablets is that you can choose between apps and browsers. *Written from my tablet, from CZcams browser.

Would you "trust" a tablet like the Mediapad 10.4 (non-Pro) model in terms of updates, installing apps (since it has no Play Store) and emulator games compared to say an old Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 or S5e?

@@wongedanbagos yeah, i do. the matepad pen is harder, while the Samsung tablet has a soft rubber tip, the Samsung is really satisfying to write on.
I think instead of any baised junkie selling us samsung, I should do review myself. You compared S6 lite and considered it better than iPad 8gen when their actually is no comparison in performance. Can u digest samsung S6 lite gives around 400 of Geekbench single core score and iPad 8gen score around 1000.
Now I have used Samsung S6 lite and it doesn't have a good palm rejection. Now I do see android for tablet is weird choice due to compatibility issues but it's understandably cheaper. So buying S7 or S7+ doesn't make sense for me when actually it doesn't give the same experience as iPad Air or Pro. Yes iPad 8 gen is 329$ but actually it's 429$ with pencil so some people with low budget do have to settle for android.
Coming to final argument of this video in android, samsung tablet is no way better than Huwawei. The stylus offered with Samsung S6 lite is cheap which surely won't last more than year and it doesn't have spare tips. Huwawei M pen is more stable and durable. Thou we can actually bet on Google services and how much we need it in tablet.
So my unbiased suggestion to people is don't decide your choice on bases of paid junkies, they only advertise.
While according to your budget this is your best choice in tablets. I'm excluding Microsoft surface since it will with pen cost around same are ipad air and isn't that fast, it's as slow as snail.
Ipad Pro > iPad Air > iPad > Huwei tablets > Samsung Tablets > Lenovo tablets

S6 lite is completely trash hardware based as the only plus over the matepad is the presence of play store... though afaik u can download pretty much anything through petal search so also that plus is reduced to nothing. S6 lite has got probably the WORST display i have ever seen in my entire life

true, the s6 lite uses the exynos 9611, that's slower than the old snapdragon 660, unacceptable in 2020 for 300$+
I agree with most of your points. I can't say concrete stuff on Tab S6 lite though as I don't have it. What I have is Tab S7+ and it's really really good, I think it's the best android tablet money can buy. So I don't agree with the Huawei > Samsung statement. Btw for some people like me, Tab S7+ is just much better than iPad Pro, since I never use/need all the "pro" apps that people always talk about on tablet. I am not an artist and I just don't think it makes sense since people most likely do editing on PC/laptop anyway

Huge M Pencil fail: lack of a clip or hole for a lanyard loop = highly likely the pen will be misplaced and lost
In Portugal you can get one of these with 4gb ram and 64gb storage, plus the keyboard and the pen, for 299€.

Get the matepad honestly it's way way way better like better CPU way better graphics amazing speakers 2k IPs display with dip3 colour gamut. Bigger battery longer battery life due to good software and you can easily install all the Google apps you need
Yes and there is always youtube vanced where you can even log in in your google account. I use it on my old lenovo tablet because it also blocks all the ads and enables background mode

Drawing quality is not looking good like s pen. And i guess, pen is extra cost.

So I have the matepad 10.4 and I have call of duty installed and running on it without issues also have all the Google apps like Gmail CZcams Google docs messages etc.. they are really easy to install. Also on a side note this tablet runs call of duty better than the galaxy tab s6 which costs 3 times more and also runs call of duty better than the 2020 iPad (£379) model.
To top it off the sound quality from the Harman kardon speakers give a very warm punchy sound which is loud I mean proper loud and very clear even on full volume.

The matepad is available here and way cheaper than any other tab for the same performance. But the lack of Google services is a deal breaker for me.

Absolutely doesn't worth it. Bugged software which leads to huge perfomance issues, all their devices are stuck to android 9, same overused chassis.
Buying this one with the free pencil is a bang for the buck. .I say It's fast and responsive. The note taking is decent. . I've been using it during our meetings. I would say this is for professionals with all those presentation and conference, and for student too since now is the year of online schooling. 👌

Having no google play services is an adjustment since for me I'm using gmail, google drive, youtube, etc. But I just use the web version of every google product. As for apps, there is petal search and Huawei store you can install from.

The matepad is very good it's chip beats Snapdragon 730g and get close to Snapdragon 845

Btw im playing COD Mobile Garena on my Huawei Mediapad M6 and i can install Fortnite thanks to the Kirin 980 chip. For using google i need to use Microsoft edge and just add the shortcuts to homescreen such as gmail, youtube, google photos and drive and more
