The Huawei MatePad 10.4 is a new tablet running Android 10. You can use it with the M Pencil stylus which you've got to buy separate. Due to its 10.4-inch IPS screen, the Kirin 810 octa-core processor and four great speakers it's a very interesting tablet. But, sadly, the MatePad 10.4 is not running any Google apps. No Google Play Store, no Chrome, no Gmail, no CZcams. That's a huge downside.

pls do a comparison of matepad 10.4 and s6 lite!
I have bought the Huawei Matepad 10.4 a few days ago. Also bought the M pen + charger separately. Started using it to make notes during class. The ability to write down notes so quickly is SUPER helpful especially when your lecturer is a rap god. Plus you could edit the note later to however you want it to be. I was considering Samsung S6 lite before I bought the Matepad but I think I have made the right decision.
Is the Mpen working very well?
@@lukh8648 Yes the M pen works perfectly fine. Just connect it to your Matepad via Bluetooth and you're good to go. I haven't had any difficulties with the M pen yet and it even charges faster than I thought it would be.
can the m pen still write when i put my hands on the screen？
@@xinyi-kp6bu Yes, the pen can still work even with your hands on the screen. I'm left-handed, so usually my palm would be on the screen when I'm writing, but I can still use the pen with no issue.

No it doesn't but it has its own app gallery but you can download the mainstream apps such as Instagram and Snapchat from either the Internet or a separate launcher 😊

i'm considering either the matepad 10.4 or the mediapad m6 10.8, the price difference is pretty close( around 5$ difference in aliexpress).
I'm more concerned about the pen latency(for drawing) and performance. Also, what security features does this tablet have? Does it at least have a face ID? or fingerprint sensor? or is it just a lock screen password?

It easy to install. Just download MoreApps from AppGallery that is Huawei store app. And from moreapps download any app you need

A question that has precision levels since I spoke to the official store and they do not have that information because all the information has not yet reached the sellers. and this is very important to be able to draw at least with optimum quality

I got one recently, and only for drawing purposes as I'm a professional artist. So I don't mind not having access to the Google play. It seems quite smooth

The M-Pencil can be purchased alone or in a bundle with a dedicated charger plus some nib covers.
The MatePad Pro 10.8 can wirelessly charge the M-Pencil without the charger, but the MatePad 10.4 CANNOT. (I just asked the Huawei CS as I am also interested in getting one.)
Perhaps you'd bought the standalone one inadvertently?

I really do not see the issue regarding no Google Services. For instance, most of us watch CZcams on Windows laptops on a browser, ditto a Chromebook. Same with Gmail, Google Photos and Google Maps. In fact, I have found browser apps to work well for me s they tend to be better optimised than Android apps that rarely get updated for tablets. I would not mark the MatePad down for that.
"Petal Search" is Huawei's new app finder and I did not see a mention of this. It enables you to locate apps in one place and update when necessary.

I prefer iPad 7th gen. I care a lot about privacy, amazing apple app base and smooth experience . However, for some one who can manage with this, they should buy this device rather than iPad.

amazingly long. I could charge it for 6 hours and it will deplete to 20% 2-3 days later.

@@iingardinhio6173 because I didn't use fast charging adapter. Using fast charging adapter it seems taking 45 to 1 hour. Definitely faster.

I have similar tablet from 2018 Huawei Mediapad 10 lite and it cost me 300euro (LTE version), but I had to buy a pen but it was different from the normal version of the tablet

I had problems with the m-pencil until I swapped the nib. Now trying to figure out how to fit the NM card into the SIM tray - the NM card cut out has been filled in - sigh.

I just bought it today. installed apkpure from internet and it supplies some of apps that are not available on huawei store. It is a good tablet with its price range.

You can make your own pencil for touchscreen. Use an old pen, put a strip of wire at the middle and use a cotton at the tip. Make sure that you are touching the wire when writing so that the electrical charge from you will flow and will be recognized by the screen. That's a DIY Pencil for you. Maybe I'll make a video about that soon in the DIY section of my channel. ☺️

Mine works just fine. The charger is in the box. U need to charge it with the tablet then connect it via Bluetooth after that.

Comparison with Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite
I would prefer the S6 Lite, but that has a very slow processor in comparison. And a slower GPU as well. So I won't buy it. Also, the MatePad has 18W charging, the S6 Lite has only 15W, which will add 30-60 minutes to your charging time compared to 18W charging. Keep in mind though the MatePad comes with a slow 10W charger in box. I already have a couple extra 18W chargers so it's not a problem for me.

@Saúl Garza I believe on the Huawei website, every week or so they have new sale, so you get a free gift which varies with the pencil (the whole bundle) so just wait until then 👍

From this review and the one you did on the 8", I'm guessing that Huawei is not going to be a good buy in America. No Play store and the inability to watch very popular Netflix on them makes Huawei useless, at least for me. Such a shame because it really is a good tablet for media consumption, with the well placed speakers. I guess I was lucky enough to have gotten mine just prior to the game the US placed on them!

Play Store and other Google apps installation is just a matter of an hour or so. Don't be lazy and say it wont be a good but just coz of that. And with GMS, you can watch Netflix as well.

He has opened CZcams at 12:58. You can install google and facebook apps but you just need to do so from 3rd party software, not google store.
Would you "trust" a tablet like the Mediapad 10.4 (non-Pro) model in terms of updates, installing apps (since it has no Play Store) and emulator games compared to say an old Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 or S5e?

I am a medico..n was confused between Samsung S6lite and Apple Ipad 7..and here this one added to it. My main purpose is for studying and making notes. ( Playstore access would be better). But here you didn't mention the fluidity of writing notes in Huawei(this model)
