I really enjoyed this video 😊. Thanks for taking us along with you guys to see the housing development in Kasoa.
There's one thing that I want to say in response to the discussion you guys were having. I think it's really important that we not go over to Ghana to try to change their culture and values just because we are accustomed to behaving in certain ways or doing things in certain ways in the US. The beauty of the country and the people is in their culture and customs, which makes them such warm, peaceful, respectful and loving people. I absolutely love the fact that the children there are not overly outspoken, sassy and force-ripe like most children here in the US. The children in Ghana remind me of how children in the Caribbean used to be raised - with manners and respect for their elders. I remember when I was growing up, I addressed my neighbors as Auntie (insert first name) even though they were not related to me, just like the children do in Ghana.
We can appreciate the cultural differences and Customs for what they are without trying to turn Ghana into 'Little America'.
I also wanted to add that I totally agree with the points you guys made about the Chinese, Caucasians and Arabs exploiting the land and resources and making bank while the locals make little to no profit from it. I find that very upsetting.

I am from the Caribbean and I know the difference with how the kids is raised in the Caribbean and the US. We are not talking about children respecting their parents or adults. I was talking about young adults that are complaining that they don’t have jobs and don’t have food to eat. They don’t know how to speak up to their leaders and elders (people in charge of their country). I didn’t come here to turn it into American 🇺🇸. I love the children, their food and the culture. The young people think their only hope is to go to the west. Some even lose their lives trying to get out of the country. Instead of standing and using their voice to make a change in their country.

@@kinzababe1- I understand what you're saying. I wasn't pointing the finger at you specifically when I mentioned people coming from the West trying to change the people and culture. One of the main reasons why I follow you is because of how respectful you are of the people and the culture and how seamlessly you have integrated into the Ghanaian community.
It's just that I see so many vloggers on social media making videos finding fault and complaining about the culture and the people in Ghana as well as other African countries that they have migrated to. It's so easy to go down that rabbit hole once those types of conversations start.

I think there are two sides to this discussion. There are people who change even from the airport and behave like a foreigner to their own land because they feel superior because of the opportunity afforded to them to travel. But also I think the locals put foreigners on a pedestal somewhat like a colonial mentality/ foreign concept that foreign is better. I also see this disparity between the locals themselves where if you have money/you are literate, you are highly respected more than those who are not.
In terms of what the people are the top are doing, they get away with it because nobody at the bottom holds them to accountability. Make your vote count.
I agree with Kinzababe, you can respectfully speak up to your elders. You don't need to be disrespectful to make a point. Your tone and body language could show respect but you can still raise your point. The issue lies where is an abuse of position and authority by the elders who shut you down just because of their age/position and not give the younger ones a fair hearing. Traditions/cultures are supposed to help the people and enlighten them, not keep them in the dark and not be progressive.
Cultural change happens all the time, people in Ghana today do not do a lot of things their ancestors did 50-100 years ago. If the change is making life better for its people then it should be welcomed. Having said that change will always come with some amount of pushback as it is not always easy to accept/adjust.

🔥In Africa 69 percent of the brands there are European or European American, whereas Africans have no share of the brand market in America. Because the general rule was Africa was to supply the world with free labor in people and raw goods not to make things from manufacturing factories they own, this rule was also applied to African Americans.. Which is why if you look at the brands around you from cars, coffeemakers, lawn mowers, furniture, etc, not one is branded by African Americans. We work at the factories and even design these things on occasion, but not own. Now, there are Asian brands in America but the majority of that is from imports not from Asian Americans. America is a near white only domestic brand market. Even as a former business graduate student I never recognized this until I just looked around me and saw no major brands named or owned by black people . We make up 14 percent of the U.S. Population and own no major brands... White people who are the majority will not support black brands, unless it were in stereotypical areas, but investors will not risk it. Now during segregation we had a Black American branded car company called CR Patterson & Sons started off a horse and buggy company, then they built their first car🚙 in 1917, the company could not compete with white companies and scale manufacturing, so it closed in 1939. Special Note: The owner was a former slave, look it up!
✊🏿In Africa it gets a little better with black people owning major brand names such as Innoson Motors in Nigeria and kiira Motors in Uganda. However, when you look at the entire African market, Indigenous Africans only own 14 % of the entire brand market down from 17 % ten years ago. Europe/America has 69% percent of the African Brand market with Asia at 14 % and rapidly growing. There are 1.3 billion people in Africa and most are young looking for a new way, but they must stop putting non -African brands over their own and reject the colonized mindsets of the past, or poverty will always be in their future. The top 100 brands in China are Chinese, and its the same in Japan. Nike is the #1 brand in Africa!!!👉🏿 Africans as a whole desire and buy non African branded products, goods, which lessen the demand for research and development of their own brands. 👈🏿If Africa is to move up as a serious competitor for the world market, you will not convince others to buy your products in this global economy if you refuse to do so. A United Africa is useless until we fix the above problem!!
💪🏿Black Americans, We have a trillion plus dollars in buying power, but don't own a single brand in the top 100 + brands in America. This is by design, meaning we are still a servant race, not owners where it matters... Most of you probably have never even thought about it, which is the level of brainwashing going on to make you feel like you are doing well, when in reality we are slipping farther down the mountain of servitude., no matter who is in office Republican or Democrat!.. Africa is our only hope on Earth, and until we and all people of African descent come to this realization, we shall continue being a servant race.

I heard you guys talk about how in Ghana culture, the youth are not supposed to talk back to the elders. In Ghanian culture the youth is not supposed to talk back to people in authority or power.
But that is the same culture in most Asian countries.
In Chinese culture, the youth are not supposed to talk back to their elders or talk back to people in authority or power, but today China is a superpower, China is the #2 country in the world and is competing with America for the #1 position as the most powerful country in the world. Experts agree that China would indeed become the world's largest economy within 15- 20 years.
In Japanese culture, the youth is not supposed to talk back to the elders or people in position of power or authority, but Japan has been a superpower country for decades; in the 80’s and 90’s Japan was the second most powerful and wealthiest country in the world, right behind American and today Japan still has a strong economy today. Japan is one of the world's largest economies and is currently at rank 3. Japan is in the list of the world's richest and powerful countries in the world.
In South Korean culture the youth is not supposed to talk back to the elders or talk back to people in position of power or authority, but South Korea is a superpower country. South Korea has a strong economy and it is a highly developed country. South Korea is a first world power nation by almost every socioeconomic metric. South Korea is a first world country just like America, Canada or any Western European country.
In Singapore culture the youth is not supposed to talk back to the elders or talk back to people in position of power or authority, but Singapore is one of the most wealthiest and most powerful country
in the world. Singapore has a high standard of living, a well-developed infrastructure, a highly well- developed country, a strong economy, and a high GDP. Singapore has consistently been ranked high on various global index related to socioeconomic competitiveness, quality of life, and ease of doing business.
So, Ghana being poor is not due to our culture.
Majority of the wealthiest and most powerful countries have the same culture as Ghana.
So what is continuously keeping Ghana poor?
Some say the legacy of slavery, colonialism, and neocolonialism is keeping Ghana poor.
Some say it is inferiority complex. Ghanaians don’t believe they can do it. Ghanaians don’t believe they can pull themselves up from slavery, colonialism, neocolonialism into a superpower country. Ghanaians believes they can’t do it by themselves that is why they always calling on America or Britain or China or any of the foreign European country for help.
Some say is the western world who are continuing stealing Ghana natural resources and wealth and not paying the fair prices of the natural resources and wealth that they still.
Some say it is Ghanaian leadership and politicians who are greedy, selfish and corrupt that is keeping Ghana poor.
Ghanaians have to find a solution as to why other countries that has the same culture as Ghana, but are prospering, having their heaven on earth, while Ghana is constantly in a state of a poor third world country and Ghanaians are continuously living in a state of a poor third world country despite all the natural resources and wealth God has blessed us beneath our feet.

Well in the US kids use to have respect for their elders from the 1940 - 1970’s after that the democrats policies weeded there way into the family especially in the black American to separate the father out of the household etc…
Now the liberals put politics in place where you get into trouble for disrespecting your own children everything is labeled as kid abuse so ridiculous.
Plus when they took out prayer time in school and taking the privilege in the late 70’s that the teachers were allowed to discipline your child it started the effect of disrespect of the children behavior in America… The government owns your children in America now so ridiculous…

Most of the Ghanaians living in America, Canada, or Europe are living horrible life. Most of them have 2 or 3 jobs just to make ends meet. The jobs they have are minimum wage jobs and even if they have a decent job they can’t save any money because most of their money are going to mortgage, car note, credit card debt.
Most of the Ghanaians living abroad are living a fake fraudulent lifestyle in Europe and America.
