This turned out fantastic. With screen accurate packs costing several hundred dollars and weighing a ton, a light, relatively cheap alternative that looks this good is a godsend. So many more people are going to be able to enter the hobby because of this who otherwise may have been intimidated or priced out.

I'm going to take this project on myself. Its hard to justify spending 250 on the new spirit pack that still needs some work done to it to make it "right".
I'm going to try this to get one the way I want it off the bat, plus I can add the lights as I see fit! This will be about the journey of making it, not the actual prop.

Another awesome tutorial. Thanks again! I used one of those foam mats with a large diamond plate pattern on the back. I was able to make it work, but the pattern was pretty pronounced (i.e., deep), and so there were gaps when I put it next to another piece. Sanding helped a bit, but there were still some places where I had to go back and use some paintable caulk to fill in the gaps. Not a big deal if you are using hot glue, but I used contact cement for a more heat-resistant bond. The moral of my story... get foam that is as possible on the back side!

I think it produces much more accurate results for the price and cost of materials than trying to make it scratch out of foam and molds and such. Its not super hard to do and these days Ender 3's run about $100 on sale (specific coupons).

Finished the whole project and everyone thinks I bought it lol. I’ll tag you on Instagram so u can see mine! Also I made mine so it looked like the afterlife one so it may be a little bit different but it still looks great. Oh and btw I managed to put some lights in the neutrona wand so it looks super cool
