  • Here it was September and I hadn’t had a trip since April due to taking care of family matters. I asked my youngest daughter, Chloe, if she’d like to join me and explore some of the region around her home in Albuquerque. And she would! So, I picked her up on mid-day Friday and we headed off to the west to explore some of the fascinating New Mexico features. Day 3 found us in Farmington, New Mexico. On this morning we’d head over to the Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness, then we’d continue on to Albuquerque. There is also a studio chat after the trip video ends.
The music is "A Flute's Mourning" by Aakash Gandhi. It is available for free use in CZcams videos from the CZcams Audio Library.
Here is some additional info that I mention during the studio chat:
You can find a recent review of "Blue Highways" by William Least Heat-Moon here ...

You can find AdventureTaco's web page here ...

Here is the video for the install of Recon spats (fender extensions) onto the Jeep Gladiator ...

    The part numbers are ...
68536653AA - Front Left (You need two)
68536652AA - Front Right (You need two)
Recommend to not buy the plastic rivets from Mopar (very expensive). Here is the plastic riveter I ordered and it comes with a few rivets (more are easily found at Amazon or Harbor Freight) ...

I'll bet that it is; thanks for the suggestion. I hope to return and experience various times and locations within the entire area. Such a great place to explore and shoot!

Really enjoyed the series, and the chat at the end just goes to show you are human, with all the interruptions. What screen are you using?

Thanks much. The monitor is the Dell 40" 5K 2K display. It is really nice for photo and video editing. Not ideal for gaming (which I don't need). I believe this is their current, similar model ...

Congrats on the cataract surgery. You'll get used to using the reading glasses. I have mine at the computer, garage and downstairs. Bases covered!!

That's pretty much the conclusion I've arrived it: Place them where I'll search for them and don't remove them from there! LOL.

Some more cool places. Thanks for sharing!
Yes GPS software and devices will try and kill you. I often find issues like that while plotting my trips. I use Gaia for routing and Google Earth to confirm that Gaia is not trying to kill me. I often have to plot routes because the software will not plot where I want to go. I feel that is a good thing though. That means you wont see other people on that route.
I have conversed with Adventuretaco a few times myself. Great guy to compare notes with.
About 30 years ago I picked up a stack of old gas station maps from 1930's to mid '60's. It was pretty interesting the points of interest that some of them showed. Most of those places were bypassed when they put in the Freeways in the 1960's. Pretty cool to go back in time and see what people would stop to look at on there way to their destinations.
    See you next time! George.

Those old maps must be pretty interesting. Do you still use them to find (perhaps just the relics of) those old POIs?

@@DxDOverland I have not in a long time. I should pull them out and take a look at them. Maybe I can do some videos of just doing that, or incorporate them into a trip somehow. They are interesting for sure. The book your reading reminded me I had them. That is how long it has been since I purchased them.

That would be a pretty neat theme for a trip.

Awesome trip, sadly Speedway Monopoly gas prices are always higher.

Interesting. There really are a bunch of them in the short stretch we drove through town.
