      Harvest of hydroponic tomatoes is done for at least 36 weeks depending on the variety. The plants are pulled down. Fresh seedlings are planted in the hydroponic media.

      We do not make it, we source volcanic rock from our nearest volcanic mountains.

    Do you change the nutrients based on the process the plant's going through (when it's only got blossoms and then when it comes to getting the fruit) or do you use the same nutrients all along?

      You can add bees (that do not sting) into a greenhouse though tomatoes and/or capsicums will self pollinate as you carry out other crop management practices like staking/trellising, pruning etc

    I learnt that urine from rabbit is a good pesticide used on plants.

      It depends on your crop management skillset. You could make the spacing bigger if space is not an issue for you. The more the spacing, the larger the structure.

    I've always been given the impression that hydroponic grown tomatoes have a bitter taste as compared to field grown or aquaponic tomatoes, and their shelve life is somewhat shorter as in they go bad quicker than the aforementioned methods of planting tomatoes, how far true is this?

      When you farm the tomatoes yourself, you will easily dispel the stereotypes and myths. The hard worker learns humility and keeps learning. Nutrition of hydroponics tomatoes is very accurate and ensures higher shelf life (21days) and better, firmer, fleshy tomatoes

      At least 10-12 tonnes per season if all goes well

      but here you answer 10 to 12 tonnes so if we calculate it we found 10000/1500=6.66 kg per plant?

      The yield does not change. Yield per plant is 15-25kgs. Yield per greenhouse is AT LEAST 10-12 tonnes per season. Please note that you can produce more than the worst case scenario of 10-12 tonnes.
      When projecting the production, we always give the minimum production with an attrition of 15-20% included. It helps manage expectations.

      Sorry you're experiencing flower abortion. It could be boron deficiency, high temperatures, high humidity, feeding high nitrogen fertilizers and many other factors. You can start by ticking off some of the issues we have highlighted

      What we have used is called Volcanic Rock, also known as, Pumice. Pumice is a soil-less medium, hence hydroponics.

      The Mapal troughs contain the pumice. We do collect the nutrient after circulation for recycling
