I remember being able to see the Big Gun in the skybox here in the original. Too bad Nvidia didn't model it in RTX.

It wasn't a 3D model but just a sky texture, which RTX replaced. However, Nvidia could make man actual Big Gun model instead...

Why weapon models like Railgun and BFG looks differently then original?

Because Nvidia thought the original weapon models are not reflective enough for tech demo. So they made those weird models
