I always loved how unique old fps weapons were.
Daaaamn I totally agree!
Mostly because painted shadows on textures
Id/Nightdive gave us a full-fledged remaster upgrade for free, with FOV sliders, crossplay multiplayer and coop online/splitscreen; meanwhile Rockstar is charging 50$ for a terrible console port (multiplayer not even included lol).
absolutely! plus stupid rockstars even ignored xbox and pc.
@@user-dx9oy1tr6r Xbox already has it thanks to its retrocompatibility, with enhancements done to framerate, image quality, better resolution, whilst keeping access to multiplayer. All at a much better price too!
Microsoft is showing more care for Red Dead than R*.
@@LaRavachole a deamn, i forgot about this feature. But how is ignored for pc, this sucks, I don't have any console.
@@user-dx9oy1tr6r True but it's possible to emulate the game on PC through the Xenia 360 emulator. It runs much better too at 60 fps.
*Nightdive
This game was a great surprise to me especially when I got pissed off by the fact that the red dead remaster was lazy and $50. The fact that this game is only $10 with way way more content then rd sealed the deal made me get this over that.
Port, not remaster. Even worse right?
The quake 2 guns were honestly very satisfying
Honestly? For real??
I think that's probably the best part of the game for me. I like Quake's weapons, but there's more variety in Quake 2.
at least muzzle flashes finally added comparing to original quake 2.
Best railgun here, i love it, especially hum sound
The Ion Ripper and the Phalanx Partice Cannon are my favorites
P.S. ...and now I can finally add the Disruptor to the list.
Kinda strange how Quake 2 didn't have a Melee Weapon, just an infinite ammo Blaster that was kind of worthless as soon as you got your hand on the Shotgun and used nothing more but for activating put of reach switches (though in this remaster it seems to have gotten a bit of a damage buff, like it kills the basic Guard enemies in 2 - 3 hits depending on the type).
Yeah and they wouldn't fix that until the Chain Fist in Ground Zero.
@@Marc_Araujo The Chainfist did shit damage in GZ, not sure about the remaster. The "Citadel" mission buffed it tremendously, finally making it useful
@@SaturnineXTS Remaster did buff the damage.
@@KayX291 I think it made it useful in other ways, such as it not dragging the player towards the enemy and having a much better hitbox, the latter resulting in an increase in dps
Blaster is basically a melee weapon alternative with flashlight and range "button pusher" purposes. Considering how many buttons and dark locations were in Quake 2 with new kinda-dynamic light system, it was a solid replacement for Axe. Also PS1 version of blaster was even better with faster firing rate.
4:49 Return of the self-destruct ending!
nightdive rlly fixed polygons moving
I noticed that the shotgun's pump sound is sometimes more and sometimes less delayed after the gunshot sound. It's later in the video than it is for me most of the time, but sometimes I get this delay too. And I don't even play this version, I only use the unofficial patch for vanilla
Congratulations about All Weapons from Quake 2 RTX 2019
They finally fixed the shotgun sound! In the original the pump sound sounded a bit too soon
INCREDIBLE WEAPONRY!!!
Hope remnant 2 is coming up soon, ive been having a blast getting my ass kicked in that
Did the new weapons get added to the main campaign, or are they only in the extra campaigns?
They are old weapons. Some are from the expansion packs
@@hoppinggnomethe4154Except Disruptor, that's a weapon scrapped during development
they're only in the extra campaigns as pickups, but the codebase is now unified so you can cheat for all of them no matter what campaign you.'re playing. That goes for the new powerups too, so you can have for example the Plasma Beam and Double Damage in The Reckoning, or Phalanx and DualFire Damage in Ground Zero. Or in the base game if you prefer. Haven't tried multiplayer yet, but I'm pretty sure there are many maps that include expansion content by default
I really hoped they will add N64 variants with blue railgun and green BFG for proper shading and particles color accents.
Did they improve the chainfist ornis it as bad as it was?
Was the Disruptor in the original Ground Zero as I dont remember it from when I played it or was it added for the remaster since I probably havn't played it since the year of release it may have faded from my memory
yes but it wasn't added into the maps (except for ammo for it) until Remaster happened, otherwise ya had to use the cheat code to get it.
So now we can essentially play Team Fortress 2 on switch
Does anyone know how much the regular blaster (starting weapon) was buffed in dmg in this remaster. In the Vanilla game it was "10."
Old school
This remastered is great but a full-fledged remake would be better
With Reload. If Boltgun can do it, then the remake has no excuse
@@mercenarygundam1487no. no reloads. If the Doom remakes doesn't have reloads then so should Quake.
Nothing personal kid, I love reloads but just NO.
@@TheGamingBurger734Quake 4 and DooM 3: Well... about that...
@@Nsodnoajdjksl Doom 2016: you could not live with your own failures. Where did that bring you?
Back to me.
@@TheGamingBurger734 Call of Duty is guilty of this.
Double barreled shotgun sounds like tango.
My only complaint, seeing the super shotgun being cocked instead of manually reloaded is so cursed to me
man, I love the chainfist. It may not be the most powerful weapon, but mowing down guards and enforcers is so damn satisfying
Fun Fact: the Super Shotgun is model by NeoStead 2000 Shotgun
they started making that shotgun in 2001, while quake 2 is from 1997
@@SaturnineXTS It was designed in early 1990's
Is Q2 Enhanced faster in overall movement compared to Q2 Remastered?
3:52 my favourite :D
I think I prefer off centered guns. Made it eadier to shoot around the corners and phalanx could hit two different targets.
The plasma beam could've get a better model ngl
Having those ye olde animations in super smooth 120FPS feels *wrong*
Did they buff ETF in any way? It was hilariously worthless in Ground Zero
you forgot about 1 weapon
Just commente
Pretty much quake 2 if it was remade using source filmmaker
Quake 2 with ambient occlusion
I could never get into quake 2 because the guns didn't sound as good as quake 1.combat felt pretty lame
The re-enhanced Quake II is neither critically acclaimed nor commercially flopped. I'd might even say this is mediocrepiece for what I see is the graphics very slightly tampered by small flaws among the others that may encounter several glitches.
It’s fine what are you on about
Having no taste be like:
@@ANTHONISHERE
Devs nowadays trying to get into their very own attention to play this game by literally "Upgrading" the graphics, models, ambience, etc. Breathing into the newly-refreshed remake of 2nd part of Quake, but there is one. Devs are totally being good at with it, unlike others.
@@krxvg7431?????? are you okay?
Really wanna know why old id games attract these total gibberish rants, this is like the third one I've seen.
