- **THIS IS NOT PORSCHE´S ACTUAL BEST LAP**
Porsche only published onboard footage of a 1:43,5! In order to make this video I rendered their video at a speed of about 102%, which shortend the 1:43,5 to approximately 1:41,7 (which is the actual time Porsche set)
This video is meant to demonstrate the different strenghts and "weaknesses" of the two fastest racing cars in the world around the world famous Circuit de Spa-Franchochamps.

yes, Bottas second lap at the 2020 Belgian GP was 8,4 seconds slower than the 919 and not 9,4 seconds... Also, we shouldn´t forget that the car ran in a different engine mode, compared to qualifying!
The weight difference is bigger actually. Lmp1 cars are weighted without driver, F1 with
So the difference is about 170 kg
Also, additionally to your description. 919 evo is far from the limits too. What I have heard from porsche guys and read also is that the engine could be 10% more powerful easily (with the small turbine they use) if they filled it not with the e20 fuel (wec) but with f1 fuel - 6-8% ethanol. Fuels with ethanol have lower btu, but more eco friendly. So, without any changes to the engine the power of engine goes from 720 to 800 hp. After that, of course you have to make some small changes in the chamber to readapt the engine from e20 to almost pure petrol
@@kudryavchik I was going to say the same about weight too. This car also has narrower tires than f1. With all things being equal esp built from the ground up unlike the 919 evo, a racing prototype will have the overall advantage, over a built from the ground up open wheeler. Closed body work goes a long way when it comes to efficiency. It would be nice to see a sprinting class of prototypes too.
@@kudryavchik wow I didn’t even think about the fuel.
But you don't need a Porsche LMP1 to crush a Ferrari SF1000. Just a Alpha Tauri is enough.... FUN FACT: the LMP1 would get a P3 in starting grid with this time.
That would look so funny
@@TimFerber that the 919 is faster than a majority of the grid 😭
As a wise man once said,
"It's a sh*tbox"
It is nice to see the comparison between the two. Well done.
GP2 engine gp2 aaargh
Seeing Ferrari's pace in 2020 made me questioning back then. Also, I totally believe that the Evo *is indeed* an LMP1 car, no matter what.
basically an LMP1 but ripped the rulebook by modifying things like removing headlights, bigger wing, floor effect something, and some others i can't mention (because i lack a bit more research whilst typing this)
in a shellnut it's basically demonstration of what Porsche can do when they're not under the rulebook
And the rear wing has DRS
The 2020 Ferrari was the worst in many years, regarding speed lol
Hi there, any chance you can do a Porsche 919 EVO vs Red Bull RB18 comparison video?
Possible. Let’s see about it in the coming weeks
It's a shame that a 5 times cheaper race-car beat an F1 car! The tech limits in F1 championships will destroy this sport...
5 times cheaper? Porsche spend 200 mio €/year on their LMP1.
Embarrassing. Im a huge ferrari fan and I'm convinced the 2020 car was a 12 month test bed
Rimac Nevera 1/4 mile:8.5
Porsche 919 hybrid evo 1/4 mile :8.3
F1 cars 2019 8.2 😂
2016 F1 cars 375 kph
Honda S 2000 drag 5.2 sec. 1/4 milla
Ferrari SF1000 = Tractor
change my mind!
I guess everyone agrees with that :D
Lamborghini surely 🤔😉😂
@@friktionrc But Lamborghini don't build race cars
@@glaylath880 yes they do. They have plenty of race cars, and race in many different racing series. Infact they raced in F1 from 1989 to 1991 and was an engine supplier in 1992 - I remember watching it back in the day 😊
@@friktionrc I know I know I was making a joke about being tractors and not race cars
The 919 Evo is _NOT_ an LMP1 car.
Change my mind.
90%
@@ReXzz A car that is not adhering to fuel flow rules, has different, illegal wing, different illegal splitter, no front lights is not an LMP1 car. #FACT
@@ErwinLiszkowicz you can be offended as much as you want, but 90% of the car are the same that raced in WEC. The whole powertrain was developed with the rules in mind
@@ReXzz Sure, but still doesn't make it an LMP1 car. 400 horsepower of difference, decreasing the weight by 25 kilograms, adding 50% of downforce isn't just a minor modification. It's a massive modification.
@@ErwinLiszkowicz Still its maybye 10% of F1 money, beating F1 lap time on rubbered track.
Dios ,el Porsche lo supera al F1 en la recta 😂
This all and good, but the reason I respect f1 drivers the most, is they drive open top. Less protection and they are travelling at tremendous speed. LMP1 is good, but f1 is still the pinnacle of motor racing.
More like the pinnacle of motorsport than motor *RACING* :D
@@ReXzz Feel like the way motor sports are we have
Number 1: Formula one
2.LMP
3.Indy Car
Change my mind
@@starlord7636 F1, Hypercar (since LMP1 is dead), the rest :D
If it's not fastest it's not pinnacle
In second sector That Ferrari made up Almost Same time lost in first sector
Then lost again in last sector
Straight line speed let down f1
Yep, you could see how much time he was gaining on the corners and catching up so fast
SF1000=rubbish
Ferrari rubbish car
