- Due to viewer requests, in this video I answer questions about both the rear light and license plate installation. I include links to where I got them and go into explaining more about each. I also explain why I chose to mount the license plate in that location instead of on the side.

Disclaimer: I am not an expert, this is what I found works best for my bike.
I did the same setup on the rear, following your recommendations. This is a great setup that really cleans up the back of the bike. Great video.
Glad it worked out for you.
That would be nice. You will probably have to hand make a folding bracket.
Great video! I’m gonna check it out
Nice! I got the integrated tail light, which is amazing and clean!
I was looking at those as well, but they are ilegal in California.
Thank you for commenting.
@@myhypermotard8351 they're illegal here in oz because the min indicator distance. But I'm running a termi full system as well so the cops would have the be nit picky haha
stuka101 The other thing I noticed is that there were others complaining that the lights were not very bright. Not sure since I never saw them in person.
@@myhypermotard8351 they're LED and pretty distinctive. No issues with mine.
stuka101 Yeah, im glad it worked out for you. Like I said, I almost got those but didn’t want to chance getting a ticket since I do a lot of commuting.
Top!!
Great bike. I have the same. So jealous on your nice tail. Here in The Netherlands mounting a licenceplate like that is not allowed because of not visible enough. You should remove the passengerfootsteps en replace them for guards...👍👍
That’s too bad about the license plate mounting out there.
I have thought about the foot pegs , but I actually use them to hang my helmet on when getting ready or at stop breaks.
I talked about that in my last Q&A Video I made.
Thank you for commenting, ride safe.
Hi ! Did you find that you had to re route the wires on the new NRC turn signal as it effects the way it fits, also crushing of the wires happens the way they have it set up. I also found the light touches on the stock tail pipe on the left hand side? Thanks for the video
True, there were little things that had to be played with so that they fit better.
Other than that, it’s a great setup.
Hello, just got a 2021 used. The rear running light and license plate light are not working. The brake and turn signals work fine. Fuses are good. What else should I look at?
Thanks
Electrical is a pain when something like this happens. Unfortunately, you will have to trace the wires involved and double checking the fuses. Sometimes fuses look good but they are not. Replace each one with a good fuse.
Make sure all connections are tight, you may have to disconnect and reconnect to make sure.
Sorry I can’t be more help, it’s one of those things you have to be there for.
If you can’t get it, it’s best to get someone that knows electrical , most times it’s an easy fix for them.
Hey man sick bike! Just got my Hyper 950 last week! Is your chain guard kinda flimsy like mine is? Every time I hit a good bump I can hear the thing flapping around. I think its normal but hearing you talk about your plate hitting the fender on bumps made me think of it lol.
It is very flimsy but I don’t hear when riding. It really doesn’t bother me at all. Nothing will happen to it so I wouldn’t worry about it.. Enjoy your bike , it is a blast to ride.
Thank you for commenting.
Done something similar on mine.. 👍🏻
Hey bud, I love the way your bike looks. I got my new sp last month and i really want to do the same thing as you on it. Is there anyway you could tell me how you did the license plate relocation ? the video is a lil dark when you zoom in on it.
The only way to be sure where to put the bracket for the Lic plate is once you take out the battery to drill a very small pilot hole. This will give you an idea where to put it. I just had to drill one time. Measure three times drill once. You can eyeball it as well.
Would they work on a regular hypernotard 2020 950? Thank you
Check on the link for the rear lights, on there it should say if it fits or not.
Did you have to use the old license plate bracket or would it mount right to the L bracket? Bike looks great I just ordered all the parts to do this
I used the old lic plate holder for support and to run the wires through.
Love the bike mine I get my 2022 950 SP around July when it should be delivered, I'm thinking the same setup my question is about the plate location how do you attach it to the bike is there a place already for it or do you have to screw it into the plastic ?
Watch my video on how i installed it.
@@myhypermotard8351 yea I got to the bit you said about drilling the holes, I want to try and find maybe a folding option for the same location
I would be concerned with the rear tire hitting the license plate during a full suspention compression when hitting a big hole or bump. Had a Triumph Daytona 675 where I did the same install. Hit a large bump and the suspension travelled up enough to hit the plate. I lost the plate and the plate cut my rear tire across rhe width of it. Needed a new rear tire and new license plate and holder
I’ve had this setup for a while now and never done more than just bending it.
Hey man thanks for the video and sharing the link to the parts I have ordered the plates lights and brackets but there one thing I need to know how did you get to under the seat did you take it off or what thanks 🙏 again
Glad you enjoyed the video.
Yes, take off the seat and take out the battery to get access to where the bolts are going to go.
Remember to measure carefully to make sure it goes on straight.
Let me know if I can answer something else for you.
Thanks for commenting and ride safe..
@@myhypermotard8351 thanks so much got my tail tidy done exactly like yours and I love how aggressive the rear of the bike looks thanks to your sharing 🙏
@@Richard-jo2lr Glad to hear that. Enjoy your bike, they are very fun to ride. Be safe.
Best
any issues unhooking the battery other than re-setting the clock?
Not really, it’s a little tight as far as space but easy to replace battery.
Do you need a relay or something for this led lights to work ? I have a rve and came with regular bulbs and I tried today to install a led lights from a monster but one of the lights didn’t work I swap the lights and nothing one didn’t work so I’m no sure been that’s a regular bulbs on the back turning lights having a led would need something beside just plug and play
Sorry to hear that. I used only what came in the kit and it worked flawlessly. Double check all connections again and check all fuses. Fuses can look good but not work, replace each one with a good fuse, you may find that it’s a simple fix.
I did I had o e working and I swap that none to the other side and nothing so I gave up, I check fuse but this bike the lights aren’t working with fuse Is directly from head unit at least the turning lights, it sucks I think I need some kind of relay or something
@@glhandy7481 Doing electrical sucks if you don’t know how to find a problem . In my case I got lucky that everything worked. You may want to have a friend or someone that’s knows electrical work. You will be surprised how easy they make things like this look.
As for the relay, not really sure. On mine I only used the kit nothing more. This kind of thing is really frustrating and can ruin your day. Like I said, sometimes it’s best to find someone that knows electrical instead of wasting time and just enjoying the hell out of the bike.
I hope you find the problem, I bet it’s something easy that you are overlooking.
Let me know what the issue was once you get it working.
I’m pretty confident on doing the job I had it down on previous bike Ktm Duke, but was easy to find the relay and swap for a led one pretty straight forward but this bike isn’t the same I appreciate the response I will get it done eventually 😂
What length screws did you use to fasten the bracket to the underside of the bike?
Sorry, I don’t remember the length but I got them at Lowe’s.
Just make sure they aren’t to long as to hit the battery
Hi there. It would be interesting to here what adjustments where made to your suspension.
You mention it was softened up.
Is the Ohlins kit too hard for road use?
I have seen other youtubers complain about the harsh set up of the SP for the road.
The only thing they did was to go down in clicks in the rear.
This was done because the factory settings was way too stiff for my weight 185 to 190lbs, close to 200 with full gear.
Now, the bike is insanely good on the road. It hugs the road and is a lot smoother than it was stock.
Thank you for commenting, I hope I answered your questions.
@@myhypermotard8351 Hay! Thanks for the prompt answer.
By "go down clicks in the rear" you mean just reduce the preload? Of did they change the compression and rebound damping?
My weight is pretty much the same as yours.
TIA.
Mark Reynolds I believe they went down in preload and compression as well. The exact amount I don’t remember.
Start with preload and if you still need a change , try compression. It was little compression change he made.
Are the wires on your turn signals exposed somewhere? Mine stick out of the plastic cover and I don't see a way to keep that from happening.
Mine are not exposed, not sure why yours are. Go over it again and tuck them in and zip tie them.
@@myhypermotard8351 I don’t see a way to route them without them being smashed or sticking out someway. Did you drill or cut anything to tuck them in?
@@theperipateticgumshoe9047 No holes drilled. Everything was tucked in, no wires exposed. Try to run the wires differently to see if that helps. Honestly, not sure why you have exposed wires. You can contact them to ask what they suggest, they are very helpful.
@@myhypermotard8351 Thanks for the help. I did send them an email and they told me there is no way to completely tuck them in without cutting or drilling, ha. Oh well, I guess I'll just have some sticking out a bit.

Do you have the whole video of the license plate installation?
The video I made was explaining how i mounted it.
Unfortunately , when I mounted it , I wasn’t making CZcams videos back then .
did you modify how those exhaust cans fit…i have 2022 hyper 950 sp with same nrc blinkers but my cans almost touch the blinkers…i have different cans..the sc project crt…so i guess that is the reason…my cans are so much higher and almost touch the lights
let me ask also, did you install the nrc blinkers while the oem exhaust was still on? because i did, and the nrc blinkers still came into contact with the stock exhaust…do you remember having to modify the nrc blinkers in anyway?
Mine are close but don’t touch. No mods needed.
@@RMSFAM09 I installed the lights first without any issues
@@myhypermotard8351 thanks for response…very weird how even on the stock cans the lights touched the cans…maybe 2022 shaped slightly different…who knows we will see…
@@RMSFAM09 Incase you know anyone looking for a bike like this, I’m selling mine. Unfortunately I need to get myself another car because mine just got totaled.
Will these work on a 2011 hypermotard 796?
Sorry, I’m not sure about that.
Where did you get your bike stand?
I got it very cheap from someone on OfferUp. The had it sitting in the garage for a while , looks new.
Geil 🤤👏🤘🤙👍
Thanks, bike is for sale incase you know of anyone interested.
