Brilliant. Best video I've seen thus far. So many doctors are quick to discount stomach pain and will not organise an endoscopic investigation. For such a simple 10 minute procedure, it will eliminate months to years worth of guess work and patient pain. Its safe to do on even cardiac patients who other doctors may view as high risk candidates for such a procedure. They stay conscious, albeit in "twilight" and they will follow directions and not remember the procedure afterwards. I cannot stress enough, DO AN ENDOSCOPY. Cardiac patients on anticoagulation will need to have a lowered INR for the procedure in order to have a biopsy taken, but just to go in and look first, without anticoagulation one night, have them fast and be ready for the endoscopy the next morning. Investigative examinations are available to us for a reason! Don't misdiagnose and risk the patient to be in further pain or develop ulcers bleeding or worse.

I’ve been suffering from Duodenal Ulcers for 4 months now and it’s really one of the hardest battles in my life. I had a bad habit of delaying meals and too much stomach acid leaked into my intestine causing inflammation and ulcer. The first 2 months were my hardest cause I always felt pains and nausea, but amazingly I never vomited once and even gained weight. However I feel rumblings and movements in my intestine everyday which is very distracting when eating or sleeping. I just pray I can heal soon because it’s very hard to function normally, I get so much anxiety that it might be something else sometimes. I hate having this

      Hey,
I really hope you feel well very soon and I'm sorry you're going through this! I've also have been experiencing issues with my stomach for the past 3 weeks. I remember during exam season in January I was highly stressed and didn't have time to cook so I've been ordering takeaways (spicy) once a day and i'd survive on that. For some reason, after finals ended, i started getting really bad stomach pain everyday which literally lasted for hours.. and when the pain intensifies i'd automatically vomit. The pain usually occurs after eating. I've been to the emergency and been prescribed omeraprazole 20mg and gaviscon and honestly it hasnt helped as i'm still feeling nauseous and pains and can't sleep at night :/ I'm still waiting to be referred to endoscopy. I've experienced loss of appetite and as a result lost weight. I really hope we pull through and wish you the best! Stay strong

In 1997 I spent 3 days in hospital diagnosed with duodenal ulcer. Could not eat anything for days but a piece of bread. I just got out of hospital again just today after 4 days again with same . It is a damage to the same area that was weakened from before. It semi heals but it is a place that is prone to damaged again from being previously damaged. This time I was in extreme pain. I went through and endoscopy this time and have photos of it. There are much better medications now and am determined to end this misery.

The best treatment for ulcers is a glass of cold milk. Put two tablespoons of Psyllium Husk simple in two to three sips of water to soak in water overnight.
In the morning, combine the cooled milk and psyllium husk with a teaspoon of pure honey and drink it one hour before breakfast. Do this for forty days. InshaAllah, the ulcer and its germs will go away. This treatment is also for those who have bleeding from the mouth due to rupture of stomach ulcer. But with this treatment, it is necessary to abstain. And continue to use the medicine prescribed by the doctor۔

I suffered a perforated stomach ulcer 1 week after my daughter was born, it was 1000 times more painful than contractions having a baby. It feels like acid burning your entire torso because thats literally what is happening, the stomach acids are leaking over other organs. I lost approx 30% of stomach having it repaired, a very small stomach to start with but the CT scan showed a hole the size of a golf ball. Recovery was awful, I still suffer complications regularly, especially with heartburn & indigestion, so would say I never fully recovered at this point, over 4 years later and have to take stomach tablets everyday for the rest of my life. Caused by 8 months of constant and severe vomiting due to pregnancy hyperemis, followed by an anti inflammatory prescribed without stomach protection medication. My daughter was 1 week old when I had to have emergency surgery, resulting 7 staples in my abdomen and 4 days in a surgical ward whilst my newborn was at home. Anyone suffering types of hyperemis, or taking codine etc, should mention stomach protection to the doctor.

Literally been suffering for six years last year I was so underweight I couldn’t keep food down because it caused me immense pain every time I eat food or drink anything cold, wake up most days with the horrible jabbing feeling in my side and back, my shoulders are always sore from sports and a football injury in high school, but in the last few weeks it’s gotten worse to the point it’s giving me insomnia haven’t slept properly for weeks and can only drink my dinner so things like soups and protein shakes, and I’ve been to at least twelve doctors in the last five years and not a single one has even come close to finding what’s wrong, keep telling me it’s in my head and handing me drugs that not only don’t work but actually make the pain far worse but lord forbid I go back and complain and I’m sent to ward 1E because I won’t take my meds, and I’ve noticed too every second year, I lose a bunch of weight to the point I look skeletal bit I’m not anorexic and I don’t have bulimia hell I can’t stop eating but when the pains this bad anything solid just hurts me, had a salmon quiche last night for dinner and I’m pretty sure something popped and I was on the floor wailing in pain, then when I tried to stand up I couldn’t move my whole left side gave out I was paralysed and all I could feel was this god awful burning sensation in my left side gut and abb area, I’d go to the doctor but I’m sure they’ll just send me away and throw some more drugs at me or send me back to the crazy house, but this video literally answered all my questions on why I’m feeling so run down like I’m a bee and this is my first day off ever and I’ve been working my whole life, thank you for this it really makes me believe there’s at least one doctor out there who actually wants to help and doesn’t just care about their fat pay check

Not a doctor (yet), but if the stool is always fully black or looks tarry, go to the hospital or GP to get it checked and diagnosed professionally. Physical check and checking for other symptoms can allow the doctor to determine if you indeed have gastric ulcer (tell tale sign of pain after 5 minutes of eating, no loose stool).

How did you'll find out u have an ulcer? This is all new to me. My son never mentioned any pain whatsoever. Sept 2021 he thought he had a stomach virus. Passing black stool 4 days and didn't tell me. He end up passing and. Got to hospital hemoglobin was only a 3. Dr seemed pretty amazed he was able to walk and talk. They finally figures out it qas an ulcer after 10 hours in the ER when he vomited and blood clots were in it. Well they git that fixed up. This past Saturday he started passing black stool again😢 GI dr said hold off til Monday its probably the iorn pill. Well after the 4th bathroom trip in 2 hour passed out again. We caught it early so he didn't lose much blood. They did the scope down his throat and the same ulcer was bleeding again. Apparently he should take acid reducer the rest of his left. He stopped in Nov 2021. He never complains of pain but I'm scared for him to eat or drink anythung now. He's 20 years old 150lbs soaking wet. He can't afriad to lose any weight

So for more than a year I had this hellish shoulder pain. Id always had shoulder problems so i didnt think it was too odd. Though the way it kinda wrapped around my side was a little strange. Anyway, I do what I've always done for my shoulder pain: I took some ibuprofen. The pain kept getting worse, and I kept taking more ibuprofen. It had pretty much become constant at that point, and bad enough that i'd have to lay down. After nearly a year of this, one day i just couldn't stand up. I'd get dizzy and not get better. Then I started throwing up when I tried to stand at all. Memory gets a bit hazy at this point.
So while I was at the ICU in the hospital, the doctors found and fixed the duodenal ulcer. They were confused when I told them I hadn't hada any pain at all. Especailly because it was a big one, and was bleeding so much my hemoglobin levels were like, 7 g/dl I believe. Anyway, after treatments for it I get sent home. Three weeks later I suddenly noticed my shoulder pain was gone. Everything immediately made sense. I no longer take Ibuprofen, except for the most overwhelming (and least common) migraines.

    • @sweetfreeze5528
      @sweetfreeze5528 Před 2 lety +6

Your story sounds similar to mine. I get migraines a lot, which affect my gut so they can make me nauseous and upset my stomach. The last 3 weeks I've been experiencing all of this, however, there was no break this time. It kept getting worse and worse. I couldn't keep any food down, and I had black and bloody 💩.
Finally I realized that I had been having to crawl to the bathroom for over a week, and knew something was wrong.
ER trip: I was severely anemic due to extreme blood loss. My blood count was 6.2! My lips were white my hand and feet were white and so cold.
After a blood transfusion and medication in the hospital, I'm back home now.
It really sucked! Still in pain, but at least I don't have to crawl everywhere anymore.

Worse pain I've ever experienced.. It's difficult for me to put into words for healthcare professionals exactly how the pain feels. Unfortunately when I go to a doctor they think I'm only trying to procure narcotics through them. One doctor as he walked into the examination room where we had met for the time about this issue or anything. His first words to me were " I don't write narcotics" I mean where do you go from a statement like that?. This one lady who was a nurse practitioner i met for the very first time about this issue and in a particular moment where i was experiencing a particular difficult episode of pain. These moments car last from 10 minutes to sometimes over two hours. I scream sometimes from the pain and I'm obviously in need of some Type of medical attention. Well the nurse practitioner who kept calling herself a doctor (are they? I'm not entirely sure but nurse practitioner and Doctor sounds like maybe they might be different) but regardless it made no difference because her next words to me were " I don't write narcotics" in agony and a little more than offended and frankly angry that the "Doctor" would make a offensive judgment about a individual who this the first time meeting. disregarding the symptoms as merely a ruse to manipulate pain pills from the ever vigilant nurse practitioner. When she told me she "I don't write narcotics" I asked her was she unable to do so being a nurse practitioner or was she just choosing not too. She told me smugly, "I choose not too" i said kinda weird for a doctor to choose not to treat patients and walked out. Just seems if i mention pain im instantly treated suspect..
