Man I'm gonna be out turkey hunting! Guess I'll be hiking a bit extra!
Sounds awesome Jess. Have a great time. I've got to work this weekend but this is something I definitely want to do. May be next year.
Nate
This is awesome! ❤ 👏🏼
Thank you!! It should be a lot of fun. I have not been doing much rucking lately more than 1-2miles. How did the Expo go?
@@EnduranceRoom Headed to HAP2024 tomorrow! It'll be an exciting weekend!
Did this last year n looking forward to doing this in ‘24.
Be in The Berkshires in western Massachusetts.
Enjoy.
Have a great time there bro ! I usually wear a Borat neon mankini in the woods.. to prevent snipers !! 😉 Jokes aside have an awesome rest of week
Lol Thanks! Cheers
I'll go check him out and you Be safe, Enjoy the trip Buddy. 👍👍👍👍
Thanks my friend. Appreciate it. 🤝
@@EnduranceRoom 👍👍
Gonna do it, here in Chicago !!!
Probably the "military" group, without any of their equipment.
Gonna do the 15 miler....gonna be slow, haven't done any rucking in several seasons.
Might use Strava as the tracking app.
Good luck to everyone !!!
Have fun !!!
Keep up the great work, Brother !!!
Awesome! Slow and smooth is perfect. Have a good one!
👍👍👍
Morning Jess ..
Great Stuff 😊. Varusteleka, my favourite Outdoor Vendors 👍 .. and I enjoy their unique 'sense of humour' 😏. If only my pockets were deeper (perhaps a good thing that they're not .. as I would have run out of space long time ago .. even now, that allotted to me is 'chock-a-block 😁).
Me? Unfortunately wrecked knees (and I mean that 😖) and 74 seasons under the belt will have me passing up on this one 😏.
I'm still active within these limitations .. I Nordic Walk Mornings with Wednesdays being a good one in a neighbouring village with a Group to which I belong. Forest and Riverside Rambles and associated 'cook-ups' are a given .. and the Daily obligatory 'Pooch Walks'.
Good luck, my friend, with your prep for the Ruck. 'Rule of Thumb' (from my Distance / Marathon Days) .. 'Total Training Mileage = 10x the envisaged distance with some at 50%' thereof should see one through .. and 'listen to your body'!
Until next time then my Friend .. am looking forward to your post on how it went .. take care, Tommy
Hey Tommy! Thank you my friend. Solid advice on the training volume. I am heading into this at the last minute. Usual hikes haven’t been more than a mile or two. Will have to be mindful as I am trucking along. The ground here is pretty soft, so that should help. My load out with be heavier on the belt kit too, which is nice. I will follow up afterwards. Have a good one 🤝🌲
👍 .. my first full Marathon was a wakeup call. I made it within the Qualifying Time for the then upcoming 'Comrades Marathon' later in the year, which is approx 86km .. varies slightly annually as per roadworks and such. The last 10 km of the 42 km marathon run, my leg muscles just 'seized' It's not only about 'fitness' .. I was pretty fit, still serving in the Military Reserve in the Paras with regular call-ups .. it's the 'distance' and at that pace ..
Good luck my friend .. and may the wind be with you 😊.
Nice
Hi Jesse! I have already signed in and will try it for the very first time. I am not on social media but maybe I will post som photos to my community on CZcams. Hope you will have a nice time out in the woods, take care and all the best from Austria my friend 🇦🇹🤠👍🏕🔥
Brilliant stuff , I'll be there , humping it round the trail
Yeah man!!! Awesome. Smooth and steady. Cheers Bro
Just signed up. Mountain ruck in PNW
Awesome! Have a good time. Slow and steady is smooth, and smooth is fast.
As if you need a reason to be pumped! You're always pumped. Got a Sprained ankle Just walking in the yard. How old you do you gotta be to sprain your ankle walking in your own yard? Whatever age it is I guess I'm there. Cut a tree down many years ago, I found where it used to be the hard way. Win one for the Gipper.
👍🏻👍🏻
🤝
I'll just march to a friend, exactly 25,4 clicks, spend a night in the woods and walk back. Too bad I didn't know about the event earlier, would have been more fun with a buddy. But on my own it's more "recon" lol. Just ordered the patch.
I wish all participants much fun and fair weather. Or whatever they prefer^^
Awesome brother. Enjoy!
I didn't know about this until today! I've signed up for it and will get it done as soon as I get the chance 👍
Awesome! I just got it done. Open 25k. Had to break it up a bit for my schedule/responsibilities. Mostly off trail in the woods, sum total time took about 7.5hrs. It was a lot of fun. I just used pace count to track distance.
@@EnduranceRoom awesome mate, well done! That’s a whole lot of pacing, you’ll be doing it in your sleep! 😂
@@PreparedPathfinder Thanks! Really good at counting to 58-60! 😂🤝
I'm in! going to do the open division 50km have fun cheers!
That’s awesome! Have fun. 👍👍
Awesome . Very physically challenging . I am still a physical person at my age . I think that i would bow out . even 10 years ago iwould have taken it on . Gotta love the challenge
Thanks Rod! Getting in on this on the last minute. I have been hiking, but not anything more than a mile or two most days. Gonna keep it smooth and steady. I will follow up afterwards. Have a good one!
@@EnduranceRoom very cool You are in great shape i wish you great success. It is a wonderful challenge
Done... 50 clicks military
Awesome! Well done.
Count me in, Jess! 25 km open class. Going to be too warm for pants here. Already a big fan of Wooly, glad to see you guys connecting. You ever talk to Swedwoods? BTW, thanks for arranging the coupon; can’t afford the M05 tarp, so I got their same sized hermit tarp.
Bought the Hatka in your advice, I really got a lot of use from it this winter. Carried extra warming layers and some other things, sometimes alone, sometimes clipped to my Jaakari M. I’ll be using my Jaakari alone for the RMM. I think I bought that, too, on your recommendation
That’s awesome! Same here, open 25. I have had to break mine up over a couple trips. Finishing up today. Have fun, keep it easy and change the socks as needed. The Erakko tarp is great! Cheers
Where is it?
You do it on your own or with a friend in your area, both roads and woods. 25km or 50km. Guidelines are linked in the pinned comment above.
Ok thanks.
Wherever you want it to be. Looking to carry 22 lbs dry/not including food n water and be more than 25k/ 16.5 miles.
Enjoy.
