Let's Print a Panorama on the EPSON P800

  • I loaded a roll of Generic Luster 13" wide paper, on the P800 Roll Adapter, created a 13" x 36" custom paper size in the driver, then proceeded to load a 12" x 35" ( 10800 x 3703 Pixel ) image in Lightroom and placed in a correspondingly sized "Cell", chose the P800 ICC profile for Premium Luster and printed one gorgeous Panorama!
    If you really want to move the P800 up a notch, you really need this accessory.
    It is not cheap but it really truly work well and allows you do long Panoramas or continuous Banner printing on your P800 which would have been near impossible on a 3800 or 3880.

      Its hard not too love this printer. If only the refillable fiasco could be solved soon, this would be the best of two worlds.

    Hi Jose, I found this video - I do choose Roll Paper, not banner, my previous questions was do I always have to make a custom size for the length, and apparently I do...(just noticed you did). So I've got it - ALWAYS choose a length as well as a width when loading roll paper. Thanks!

    I am going to print on epson clear film which has a blue peel off film to remove after printing. It will make it hard to see the cut line. Also the instructions say not to leave the roll media on the printer after use. How can I cut it straight so I can reload next time I use it? I’m stumped because the pull out tray is flimsy I can’t press down with pressure to cut. The cut line won’t show due to the blue film unless I put white paper behind it. Also I read lint and dust can stick to it so I can’t really cut it when not on the printer to get a straight edge. I’m hoping it will feed even if it’s not straight

  • @ricki-bobby
    @ricki-bobby Před 8 lety

    It's unfortunate that Epson did not include an in printer cut feature like they have on the larger models. Nice pano

    • @cheo1949
      @cheo1949  Před 8 lety

      That Would have added to the cost and they would have had to have some sort of electronic connection with the printer and communication with the driver to operate it. Nope! No way that was going to happen for only a few hundred bucks!

    • @ricki-bobby
      @ricki-bobby Před 8 lety

      No doubt they would have wanted more for that feature but once you've had an auto cutter on a printer it is very hard to go back to manual cutting especially for large batch printing jobs.

    • @cheo1949
      @cheo1949  Před 7 lety +5

      What the P800? Not if you use it often like Printers are supposed to ed. There's not magic. Don't use your printer for weeks and of course it will clog. By the way, the reason canon printers stay supposedly clog free is not because they are better. They run preventive automatic cleaning cycles after 60 hours of non use. So if don't print on your Canon printer for just 2.5 days it runs a preemptive cleaning cycle before it even begins to print and BINGO, a perfect clog free print! If Epsons did that, they would never clog from user neglect either. That my friend is the secret of keeping your Inkjet printers free flowing.

    I noticed that you mention the "finicky" nature of the process to get the roll loaded. Once that is successful, does the roll then feed without issues? Sorry if I missed that in the video

    • @cheo1949
      @cheo1949  Před 6 lety

      Yes. On the P800 once you have the roll loaded and feeding correctly there is no need to remove it unless you have to change media type. It will continue to feed till empty without further issues.

    Hello Jose, How are you satisfied with this printer? are you happy with the printouts quality? Is it really comparable professional printers? Would you print rather at home or in proffesional studio if you wouldn´t have to think about money but you would want the best quality?

    • @cheo1949
      @cheo1949  Před 8 lety +1

      The p800 is one great printer and with the roll adapter it puts about above anything it's class. PrPrint at a lab? Takes days back and forth until this y produce exactly what you want. Print at home? Full control of the process. On the spot results. But that is just my opinion.

    • @martinjurik6067
      @martinjurik6067 Před 8 lety

      Alright, thank you! I set a date with reseller and I will check the quality of the printout by myself. I would like to offer to my customers printouts ASAP so I could take pictures do the postprocess and print immediatelly but I was afraid if I give them the pictures if they won´t consider printing elsewhere for the next time.
      Printing my own photos will be sweet bonus of this service :)

    Gracias! por los videos, tengo un pregunta mi printer Epson SY ph 1400 murió y estoy buscando a comprar otro, pero me preocupa el costo de la tinta versus cantidad en el cartrech y cantidad de printiadas, como se compara entre el epson SC P 400 al 600 y al 800.

    • @cheo1949
      @cheo1949  Před 8 lety

      Nadie jamas dijo que imprimiendo en su casa iba a ser barato. All contrario. Esa es la situacion. La P400 tiene cartuchos de 14ml La P600 de 29ml I la P800 cartuchos de 80ml. Esos te cuestan $55-60 por cada cartucho. Esa es la realidad! Yo siempre le recomiendo a la gente que piensen seriamente si verdaderamente qieren hacer esto. Porque cuesta dinero. Uno no puede no imprimir porque no pueden pagar por la tinta. El P800 te cuesta mas al principal Perl questa meno por cada ml de tinta. I para operar.

    What will happen when I start printing a panoramic with low ink level? Does the printer abort this job or do it pause until I have changed the ink cartridge?

    • @cheo1949
      @cheo1949  Před 5 lety

      Some will stop, have you replace the empty and continue printing without a problem or a single mark on the print. So will NOT allow you to start the print.

    • @pag5210
      @pag5210 Před 5 lety

      Jose Rodriguez do I understand this that I can start printing any time and if while a actual job an ink gets empty it stops then I replace the empty ink and then it will continue at exact the stopped position without having any issues on the print? This would be very nice.

    • @cheo1949
      @cheo1949  Před 5 lety

      Again. It depends on the printer model. It depends on how low any cart ink level was whether it will stop and restart or simply not.let you print until you provide a full cart or it will.stop and you need to reprint the image again. The thing to do is to always monitor your ink levels before printing anything.

    • @cheo1949
      @cheo1949  Před 7 lety +1

      There are no "Budget" printers that will fit your needs. You will need at least A CANON PRO-1000 or Epson P800 and remember that there are no 3rd party options for these two printer models. If you can find a brand new Older EPSON R3880 that will serve you as well and you can use third party inks and carts.

      @jamesnguyen5094 Před 7 lety

      Something will minimal gloss not not matte. There are so many I would not know where to begin. It also depends on what you want to spend. Red River Palo Duro is superb for color and b&w and works very well with dye as well as pigment printers and it will not break the bank.
