In this video I hope you can see how easy it is to print using the new roll adapter for the EPSON P800!
In this vdeo I will print a bordered 13 x19 but in the next ome I will attempt a 13 x 36 panorama!

Oh thank you, I have been getting a load error so many times. I have been fiddling with this thing for over 30 mins. I found your video, watched and followed you exactly and ta-da! It worked. You are so clear with the steps, THANK YOU SO MUCH.
I am so glad you found it helpful!
I had the hammer in my hand to take care of that P800 after two hours with roll paper jamming. Then I saw your video and wow, that double curl technique worked. Epson should hire you to help them make better videos of their own. Not that they care, but still....
Thank you! That trick with the counter-curl worked, after many failed attempts to load a new roll (my first ever).
Glad that worked for you!
My new roller should be here tomorrow, and your videos are helping me get started. Thank you so much for your videos!
If you mean The Roll Adapter then yes. That will bring that printer to just about about the perfect medium format 17" capacity printer available today.
Your instructions are flawless - I'm on my second roll and like the first, this went in without a hitch. I really appreciate your videos!
Thanks Jose...Followed along and printed my first pano on Epson Ultra Smooth Matte Art 17" roll :-)
Awesome!
Gracias Jose Rodriguez por compartir este video, ha sido de gran interes para una futura compra.
Te devuelvo las mismas!
Thank you Maestro!!!!!!
Well that is way too nice but thank you nevertheless.
Definitely love this printer :)
I wish I had it XD
P800 plus roll adapter? Perfect combo!
I will have to unload after use because I also use sheets and the roll I have is clear film. Trimming the lead edge will be tricky because clear film is apparent,y sticky
When I feed the paper until it stops, it won't recognize it. I used my rotatrim to make sure the leading edge was straight. Any suggestions?
It might be the sensor.
this is a great video like so many others on ur channel. I didn't get a trim line... is there a setting for that ?
When you click on Cut on the screen it will print the line.
Jose Rodriguez u mentioned that 2 lines are printed if I’m not mistaken in the video: trim line and cut line. I’m only getting one line.
If the roll feeder is in the printer can it print another paper using the other feeders?
Hey Jose. I have a couple of questions.
Why set to 360dpi "because it's an Epson"? That immediately stood out to me as something I should probably know about!
Your print comes out so fast - in a couple of minutes. My prints at 13x19 take ten minutes. What settings can I use to make it this fast?
Great video, thanks for posting.
Printer makes have native resolutions they prefer the images to be. Epson is in multiples of 180-360-720 we Canon is 150-300-600. Just look at their actual printing resolutions in the quality settings. There is a lot more to this but just follow these rules. Image resolution should with within those resolutions parameters for each brand printing via USB and at highest quality.
Is it possible to print on canvas rolls without the roll adapter? My paper and canvas rolls are all 17"...
Last week I bought an Epson p-800 with 4 years warranty for £972 and I planned to buy the adapter from different shop where they stated that the price will be 80$ and when I ordered they told me that it is out of stock and changed the price to 250$
You can but it is a pain in the you know what! I managed to find a roll adapter for the P800 for $150 and it is worth every single penny!
Hello Jose. I get so much out of your videos on printing. I was wondering if you conduct any live, or one-on-one training on printing?
I do Weekly Live Casts every Friday at 7PM EST USA.
So far I do not have the means to do one on one type training.
Are you US based? Would you do training at your facility?
I am in Maryland just North of Washington DC.
does only Lightroom print the cut lines or does it do it in Photoshop as well?
The P800 DRIVER does it.
When printing with the P-800 in the Printer Setup window I go to Printer Profile and select the Epson paper I am using. Then when I go to Print Settings under Media Type and not all the Epson papers are listed. The same situation happens with the Menu in the printer. Does the paper selected in the Printer Profile in the window Printer Setup overrides those selected in Print Settings and the printer itself? Appreciate your response.
You mean you are telling the editing app to control color using the ICC profile for a paper and then you can not locate said paper in the driver?? Are you by any chance using a MAC?
@@cheo1949 I can select the paper profile in the Printer Set up window fine but when I go to Print Settings under Media Type the specific paper is not listed and the same in the P800 where it gives you a list of papers. I am using Windows and Photoshop CC.
You are NOT selecting Paper Profile in the driver. You are.selecting a Paper TYPE!!! which takes.into.account the physical characteristic of it such as surface type, thickness, weight. Nothing to do with a profile. Profiles live in your computer and not in the printer or the driver. What paper are you trying to set up for again? Epson has been know to change the names of papers without changing the profiles name. Are you on a MAC or PC?
@@cheo1949 I am using Legacy Platine and is listed in the Printer Profile but not in the Media Type in the Print Settings window or the P-800 paper selection menu. I am using Windows/PC and Photoshop CC. I am getting good print results even when ignoring the Media Type and P-800 entry windows.
I was wondering if this trick will work as well with a 2'inch roll core .I print on 2' 290gsm camvas and I need to be sure I can load it on this printer prior to ordering it.I saw a lot of fellows having problems mainly with 2'inch cores. Have you tried printing with 2" roll core? Thank you
If you mean the roll adapter for the P800. I don't know is it can handle 2" core rolls. I'll have to check when I get back next week. If it can, it should have nothing to do with paper or canvas feeding problems.
Jose Rodriguez the roll adapter is supposed to have gray adaptors for use with 3inch rolls and you take them off in order to use 2'inch core rolls. What I'm worried about is that it will inevitably have more of a curl with the 2'inch and I saw in one of your videos you mentioned that it doesn't have a vacuum in order to keep the media down straight..Do you think I'll have an issue?also do you think it's a good printer for printing approx.400 meters of camvas per year? I know that sounds a lot but I sell very cheap in a competitive market. Thank you for everything 😀
It would be if it was paper but canvas is a lot more flexible and less prone to permanent curl problems.
Jose Rodriguez great! Thats what I was thinking but wasn't sure. Also one last question,do you think the Epson P800 is built for printing approx.400 meters of camvas per year (17inch)? Or would I be better off with a P5000? P800retails for 1.600$ and the P5000 for 2.400$.Big difference but Id like it To last..also I need to use compatible inks due to competition here. (Im in the Eu so I don't need the decoder).
Printer's like the P800 have a duty cycle of life cycle of about 15,000 prints. They just don't tell you what size. I can not tell you for sure if it can or can not handle that level of work. But suspect it can. The catch will be the black switch valve that always fails after several years specially if you do not switch blacks often.
Hello Jose, the printer can cut thin paper automatically?
Not the P800. You must cut it your self along the clearly printed "CUT" line. Very easy with good scissors or a razor blade.
12:21 how did you knew that the Epson gloss profile will work on this kind of paper?
I had printed on it before on the PRO 3800 and it worked fairly so i used the matching P800 profile for the premium glossy. No it is not perfect but good enough for this generic glossy RC paper from eBay. I would have to make a custom profile to narrow it down even more. However I will save that for a roll of Semi Gloss I have waiting on the side.
Just asked I also have a bunch of paper and not ics..sadly I don't know how to make a custom paper profile and here in Switzerland it's Very expensive to get it from the lab..
Very often you can use the Epson or Canon equivalents for the various surface types and it will produce good prints.
Aren´t you afraid that you will literally ruin the print just because you are touching paper with your bare hands? Sorry if it is stupid question but I always use gloves at least before printing. Keep up the good work! and thank you for your videos!
i can't print many pics with roll paper ...only one then it stop... I have to loud the paper again 😥
Did you choose Banner Mode?
Jose Rodriguez yes
fj27fj jo have you found a solution yet? I want to buy this printer to print image after image, I need to be sure if that is possible..
I just ordered the roll adapter for the P800. Is the rod/ends the same as for an epson 4000?
I don't know. I think the one for the P800 is sort of proprietary for it.
@@cheo1949 Then, since I use roll film on a 2" core, how do you remove the 3" core holders? Is that difficult, thanks!
I am not sure it will take 2" core rolls. The Unit has an removable and adjustable ( For width ) adapter on one end and the other does not move.
@@cheo1949 Yes the description of the roll adapter states it will take 3" or 2" cores, it's a matter of removing those 3" plastic ends, I guess the just pop out somehow, thanks for your help, appreciated.
OH yes, they are a sort of telescoping end to the adapters. Since I only use 3" core I never really paid much attention.
price
Price for what???? The roll adapter? If so then it is about $200/250 depending where you buy it from!
