  • The Moto Guzzi Stelvio 1200 NTX has one feature that all other motorcycles should have! This bike stands out from the competition because Moto Guzzi did something impossible when building this bike! The Stelvio is not as well known as the BMW R1200GS, but it's definitely giving it a run for it's money!

The company was started by three friends, who were in the Italian air force in WWI. One of them, Giovanni Ravelli, was a pilot who was killed in a test flight in 1919. The eagle with it's wings spread is in honor of their good friend who didn't live to see the company they dreamed of starting. They invented the center stand, first company to use a wind tunnel. And their plant is next to Lake Como, one of the most beautiful places in this planet.

Owning a Guzzi will ruin you for every other bike. There's just nothing like coming to a stop light and feeling that "guzzi shake". Still miss mine to this day and is the only bike I've ever regretted selling. Just an awesome bike all around and had the exact same motor as this Stelvio. Smooth, torquey, and just a beautiful exhaust note.

Lookers at every stop, great conversation with people asking what it is, or telling me about the Guzzi they owned back in the 70's. Try the Hana Road, Maui, Hawaii; The Road to Hana is only 52 miles but the average speed 25 mph. is also called the "Divorce Highway". It as 617 turns & 59 bridges, many only 1 lane, travels along the edge of many sheer cliffs, starts in Kahului and ends in Hana, is the longest rain forest highway in the USA, is a registered historic area.
Halfway through, my wife said: "pull over"! Which, I did! Where, she pulled off her helmet and threw-up!
You can always spot the BMW Riders, because, you will find them on the Stelvio road!

Riding an '09 Stelvio 1200 4V ensures she'll never pull up to a stop light and see another bike like her's. When on her '00 Quota 1100ES she can be pretty sure she'll never run across another one anywhere on the road as there were only a couple hundred ever imported to North America.

I've actually done the Stelvio on a bike, and it's not nearly as "great" to ride as it's reputation, unless you enjoy doing hairpin after hairpin after hairpin. Personally, I got bored after about the 5th identical hairpin.
There are many magnificent biking roads across Europe, and many of them are unnamed. I think the name Stelvio is probably used because its an easy name to remember and most European petrol heads are familiar with it.
But a great road? Not in my opinion.

Moto Guzzi have a Solid reputation......they are definitely reliable. Getting parts is tricky, there's a supplier in Texas.

I love watching your vids man, I am subscribed to both bikes and beards and srkcycles. Love the content you provide. I am from Lancaster, Ohio. I keep telling my wife that i wanna ride my bike up there to meet you someday. Maybe next summer, since riding season is coming to an end soon. Was just wondering, to what address can we send the post card to be entered into the motorcycle giveaway. Thank you very much, and keep up the amazing content brother. Amen

Norge is the Norwegian name for Norway. It was also the name of an airship built in Italy for Italian explorer Umberto Nobile and which Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen later flew making it the first aircraft to fly over the North Pole. Moto Guzzi launched the Norge by having the European press ride a fleet of them to the North Cape in Norway, which is the furthest north you can ride in Europe. If you think you can ride, try the Stelvio pass one day... and don't trust BMW's weight specs.
Edit: I own a 1400 California and I have yet to encounter another one.

Named after the stelvio pass in italy. Unbelievable road, Look it up.
Also the Honda you mentioned is the cx500 which has that similar style engine set up as well.

Honda copied the layout but 80° Vee with shaft drive, not 90° like MG. Also GL500 and GL650 Silver Wing (not scooter). Water-cooled and engine mounted higher, not as well balanced as the Guzzi.

The Passo Stelvio is a hellish mountain pass near lake garda, which I rode 2 years ago with my little thumper F650Gs and I totally understand the name for this bike. Big wide bars just seem like a must when riding tight twisties, both my dad Diavel V2 and brother VFR 800 VTEC were struggling to keep up with my little 50 horses. An extra 600cc cylinder defintly would be a godsendt at the time.

To gain publicity for Moto Guzzi in 1928 - Moto Guzzi went on a 4,000-mile (6,400 km) journey from Mandello del Lario to North cape on the northern tip of mainland Norway. Despite the very poor condition of European roads at that time, Giuseppe Guzzi reached the Arctic Circle in four weeks. "Norge" is the native name of Norway.

the Norge means Norway in Norse. Guzzi had the GT dubbed "Norge" model back in 1928 and 1930 to celebrate the trip to the Polar Circle of Giuseppe Guzzi.
As a Breva 1100 owner I am happy Guzzi is getting recognized by our friends overseas!

Moto Guzzi really and seriously needs a dealership or two, you might consider it. They are truly special motorcycles for people who ride and care and know about motorcycles. They aren’t bling and they aren’t the fastest etc. They are, however, amazingly good. I have have been riding motorcycles for 50 (argh) years and was for most of that time always in possession of at least one BMW. But over the last 7-10 years, somehow they just lost me. It actually makes me sad! But, salvation arrived from Mandelo de Lario. I am really sorry I didn’t get into Guzzi’s sooner than 3 years ago. They are great machines and the Guzzi riders, Guzzitsi, are a pretty cool down to earth bunch as well. I don’t have or miss having a BMW anymore. Moto Guzzi needs to grow some dealers, but the parts availability is pretty good even as it is. BTW, Norge is how you spell Norway in Norwegian.

Stelvio is a mountain pass in Italy which the Moto Guzzi adventure bike is named after. Perhaps Sean could do some research on a bike he’s selling at some point.

DANG! I can't believe you have 2,460 videos on this channel LOL. I'm coming up on 1,000 vids on my channel and gaining momentum, I'm already planning on buying a bike with the money that I will eventually get, I'm thinking in about a year or so when my channel really blows up and I start making a bit more than just enough to pay the bills HA! So I've been 'dream shopping' for my next bike, I've had a lot of bikes in the past but don't have one right now. I actually started out wanting the Road King and put a cool Road King wallpaper on my desktop. Then I changed my mind and decided I wanted a Kawasaki 1000sx touring edition. That was on my desktop too. I actually took down that photo and now I'm dead set on a Harley Dyna LOL. Good thing I don't have the money or I'd have three bikes in my garage by now! Kind of have my eye on older Dyna Fat Bobs, so many cool ones out there. Once I'm a big CZcams star I'll probably have a warehouse with about a dozen bikes and a bunch of really fast cars and trucks LOL
