Well said sir!
My vfr was absolutely amazing.. wouldn’t have traded it for the world. I kept up with my buddy on his r6. Only gave it up to pay for a ring!
@@nickf2001 still was a bad trade!!!
The reason I want a Ural. Screw what people think, I want comfort and something that I can fix with duct tape and baling wire.
I enjoyed my first bike, Honda Forza 300 for 4 years & 23k miles. I went even dorkier with my Versys LT 650. I am the King of the Dorks, and like it that way.
My Versys is Dorky says the Harley fan-boy, with a man-bun, and who drives for like 30mins with his turn signal on.
🤣
Lmaooooo agreed
🚨😂
Well, anyone with a man bun is not to be taken seriously regardless of their 2-wheel choices in life.
Let's not forget over weight.
The one thing that’s being left out is how cost effective every bike on this list is. Rename the video “Very smart choices for cost effective transportation that’s also reliable and works on a budget”
I rebuild wrecked bikes all the time and I can say that the nc750 is an amazing beginner bike that’s fun to ride and easy to maintain. Valves and spark plugs in the front and can be accessed within minutes. For everyone watching this video do not let it discourage you from buying any of these bikes, at the end of the day you never want to live your life worrying about what other people think. All motorcycles are fun to ride so don’t isolate yourself or be afraid to get the not so popular bike. Proud to be a nerd.
Love the videos by the way, don’t get this twisted with anything negative we all have Opinions and this channel has tons of great information.
I have an NC. I can cheat death with the best of them with a 12 pack and dinner in the storage compartment.
NC750. The NC stands for Not Cool LOL.
Just kidding, I really like that bike, especially the trunk.
A lot of these "nerdy" bikes if a person finds a good used one and rides it for a couple of years they can sell for not a lot less than they paid for them if they're looked after. My own bike's a old GSX1100F and all totalled I probably have about $3500.00 wrapped up in it. It's far from new and could be considered a bit dorky because of the 32 year it's been around, but it's very cost effective and when I sell some day my years of riding will have been very economical.
Even if not on a budget, why waste money?
@@sganzerlag My wife has one and its a really good bike. The Frunk is flat out one of the greatest things ever on a bike.
I’ll have you know that I drove my R1250GS over a grassy median at the Starbucks the other day. It was a harrowing off-road adventure.
You “drove” it...was it in a van?
@@alexwilsonpottery3733 R1250GS, so yeah. Basically a van on two wheels.
Nothing better than having a good sense of humor.
I ride a 2004 BMW R1200 CLC and I am sure it would make this list.
I adore my 2021 1250 GS adventure. It has 130 hp and 100 foot pounds of torque. It is more than fast enough and it’s awesome looking.
I have to admit, I'm a nerd, I like to travel long distances by motorcycle, respect traffic laws and not suffer from back pain, that's why I have a Versys 650 and it is the best cost benefit for my profile. ALL HAIL THE BEIGE GANG! Great content btw!

There is no honor in being an assh@le. Yay nerds.
This man literally is what the video describes lmao
The hd simp himself saying a gs is dorky
Love the fact that you did the first four minutes of this "Dorkfest" with your turn signal running...
I bought a Honda NC750X (the manual version) as my first bike a couple weeks ago. It has similar power to a HD Sportster with better fuel economy and less maintenance. While it may not be as fast as some other bikes in the class, it's still a awesome daily commuter that is still capable of doing highway speeds, and hitting a twisty road on the weekend.
Honestly mate, I'm not hating on the bike. I just want to say that if you want to argue that your bike is not dorky you shouldn't be boasting about gas mileage...
I standby my Versys 650 purchase with dignity
Same with my versys x300
I have the Vulcan S (hated on this channel) with the same 650cc engine. I've had nothing but great things to say after 20k miles on it.
Versys owners are like a brotherhood of people who only know their bike is amazing. People just don’t understand until they see one and sit on one. Everything just “clicks” and the Versys god whispers in your ear “you are ready my child”. 😂 so. damn. good!
@@Jagknorr your right. I just walked into a dealership recently and saw one up close. On paper it looks stupid. In person it looks good. Then I sat on it and realized it’s pretty damn comfortable. Too cold to test ride it, but if everything holds true it just might be my next bike.
I have a V1000. Not sure why people bag on them so much. It's a great all around bike.
VFR? Right out the gate? First of all, how dare you sir!
VFR best bike ever 👍
I like the idea of the vfr. Some models look ok and others look gross. I'd like to try one

I'll spend all day riding my "boring", "dorky" Hondas alllll day... while you spend your day crying over your latest orange bike repair bill. Harley or KTM. Same difference.
Blah blah blah. I had a KTM 390 Duke as my first bike. Never had an issue. I replaced the fan and it got even better. Then I got my BMW S1000RR. I only had to take it to the shop once for my suspension. I'm now moving onto an Aprilia RS 660. If you wanna stay afraid about spending money then leave the badass bikes to the rest. Stick to the pussy, boring Hondas.
@@callumaltair9806 ...pompous deushbag?
The 690 SMCR is actually pretty reliable.
@@callumaltair9806 Honda is much better than that Italian crap aprillia.
@@MegaMare99 Honda? 😂😂😂 No one truly believes that. That's just what cheap bikers tell themselves in an attempt to convince their own mind that they aren't missing out. Aprilia has a far superior electronics package, sexier looks and harnesses the sound of what motorcycles are supposed to sound like. Hondas sound like lawnmowers in comparison. Performance wise, Aprilia dominates with their suspension, braking, handling, and acceleration. GTFO.
Says the dork who spent the first half of the video with his indicator left on...
Not all NC700/750s have DCT, but they all do have a Frunk. Sure its dorky, but I can go to the grocery store and get breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 2 days on my motorcycle. Also, its hands down the most comfortable ride I've experienced on 2 wheels. I guess it's kinda the station wagon of motorcycles 🤣
All of that you can do on PC800 as well.
Incidentally, it's also made by Honda. Hmmm
I can tell you that when touring, having that spot to store the helmet while you grab a bite to eat is fantastic. Also can get a case of beer in there 😎
The Frunk is awesome
I missed some of this video because I couldn't take my eyes off the fact that he was riding with his right turn signal on until he finally made a right turn at 4:21.
Same here was shouting at the screen to turn off the indicator.
Ditto.

YESSSSSSSSS
As an NC700x owner I can 100% confirm. That being said I can keep up with my buddies on 1200cc sport tourers anywhere but a straight line and do a no camping week on the road with just the frunk and the top case. All in complete comfort.
Lol! Oh man, that was great! But as a previous bike mechanic who has ridden almost every bike out there, and an NC 750X DCT owner who absolutely loves this bike, I have a few things to say.
First of all, yes, it is “nerdy” lol! I spent months researching bikes that would fit my needs, and this bike deserves a bit more of an explanation on just how nerdy it really is. The frunk to keep your helmet in so it doesn’t get wet if it rains while you’re in a store, are just the tip of the nerd iceberg.
Here are some more nerdy facts about the NC. It gets 65-70 mpg. It’s low center of gravity makes it handle fantastically safe while making it super difficult to wheelie. You can’t stall it but you can manually shift it even while in drive or sport mode. It has ABS and traction control standard. It’s super low maintenance. The suspension is mostly non adjustable. You won’t impress anyone when you admit that it only has 54 HP for a 750, and no one will believe you when you say that the HP rating misleads you until you actual ride it. It’s a “adventure style bike” that is really just a commuter,/around town bike. And finally, if you have a bunch of friends who don’t know anything about bikes, they think it’s awesome! Lol!
Funny thing, I’m a 48 yr old ex bike mechanic, and I sold my 94 CB 1000 To buy an 18 NC. This bike sat on the dealership floor for almost two years because it didn’t have a standard clutch. I was able to pick it up for $2000 less than MSRP. Under $7000 for a bike as nerdy as this was a steal!
@Bart Garrison lol! The speed limit’s 70 mph and, believe it or not, the NC does go 100+. It also accelerates to the speed limit nearly as fast as my 94 CB 1000.
@@teambenjamin1 Yup. I don't feel limited by the horsepower at all on mine. And now, I'm addicted to the frunk.
This was a basass write up. I'm 32 and ready to finally admit that I want a fully dressed bike or a sport tourer. Goldwing, concourse, something like that. Cheers.
I wouldnt listen to yammy noob. He hasnt nearly 50 years around bikes and doesnt think about build quality, servicing, costs and day to day transport. I bought older vfr750 and first of the fuel injection 800. It was a great engine, had torque, over 100 bhp, enough in the real world and i did London to Scotland 4 times and on a 400 miles each way journey, it was too easy to do over 100mph on the motorway so a torquey cruiser or big tiger 800 makes more sense or even a 6t0 v strom. Fuel economy and reliability and cheap running costs are important in the real world and will take a beating and go round the clock and some. A good round the world bike with a bash plate, radiator guard, handlebar mitts and crash bars. Very hard to beat but if you want custom, a harley, indian, or triumph take some beating and i do like the thunderbird 1700 the most but its not made anymore but in the real world for speed a hayabusa or gsxr1000 are superb or for a shaft drive tourer, a triumph explorer is some bike with a fabulous motor or a well proven yamaha supertenere 1200 thats build quality is far superior to BMW. Of course horses for courses and its very subjective but bikes like AJP that are portuguese are very highly rated bikes for duel purpose riding like a sort of suzuki DR650 but with more go. The newer Guzzis like the 850TT seem to be now reliable and much better with electrics than before. A nice bike but you cant beat maybe the new 800 suzuki v strom or some of the MT07 engined machines that are well tested but get a aftermarket good rear shock! I however absolutely love the Norton bikes, their V4 1200cc bike is stunningly built but a 961 commando will be a dream one day as im sure it will be right up there for handling, motor and big smiles. I already loved the commando since i rode the old 750 fastback which was the best handling twin of its day before the Ducati 750ss and 750cc MV Agusta which were huge money even then.
You really know real world good bikes and mechanics. Im an old 63 year old biker whos been in courier work and although hondas were considered boring, the cb350 was cheap to run and so reliable, cheap and the company had a fleet of them but i liked the Suzuki GS850 but it was juicy in traffic but on the motorway it was low maintenance, very comfortable and was guaranteed to go round the clock and the electrics were great and it was considered a boring bike but in the real world pulled better low down than the GS750, or most other jap inline 4s, easy to work on and get to stuff unlikde honda vfrs which were harder to work on and get at stuff. The kawasaki GT550, the deauville hondas were popular with shaft drive but gearboxes were a weakness on the kawasaki gt550. Yamaha XJ650s and 900s were really good engines that went round the clock. Even TDM 850 and 900 were really good in the real world like transalps and yamaha fazers. Obviously now with the NC750 theyre more modern, economical and good for reliable and cheap longetivity. Its not for nothing these ujm s are so popular in the world and the humble C90, CD175, sold many millions worldwide and would carry a family of 4 plus luggage in countries like vietnam in the years after the war.
Basically, if its practical then its nerdy is the takeaway haha. They are nerdy but i would love to have a relaxed commuter in the stable and not always have to carry a backpack everywhere
I put a top box on my Honda Hornet and it has totally ruined the look of it. At least the frunk is discreet and does the job. Love the NC750, looking to get one when the Hornet gives up.
@@jmfreestuff73 Versys side-cases will hold TWO helmets! 😜
I can't buy another bike unless it has a frunk. The NC has ruined me.

I don't think it's dorky at all it's very interesting and quirky if you ask me! Definitely not my cup of tea but if I saw one I'd definitely chat to the owner about what it's like and I'd praise their left field choice.
I enter in an Honda Dream, i wanted to see the África Twin 2020 AS, but i also asked for a beginner bike, the girl told me the Nc 750.
I think that, for a beginner bike, it's a little too much, but it's a good motorcycle.
Had mine for 3 years, and it is my favourite bike of the five I have owned so far. Just to confuse people, my car is a stick, and my bike is a DCT.
Been riding a 700x manual for almost a year and 18K KM now. It's great, a wonderful tourer with loads of torque, it's got all the power an average rider would need on the street, it's good on gas and easy to service, plus I don't think it looks half bad.
I'm 25 and I don't give a damn. I think it's cool, and the 270 degree firing order makes it sound great too.
I’m 15, and while my dad won’t let me get it until I’m 21 (in Ontario, Canada you have to be 16), the NC750X looks like a really nice practical bike. I get the helmet storage is kind of gimmicky, but I’ve heard lots of praise for it. It’s nice to see a new version this year, unfortunately it doesn’t look like Canada will be getting it, but there will always be more in the next 6/7 years.
Report: I feel personally attacked by this content.

TURD!!!!
The 8th gen VFR is such a gorgeous bike tho, it looks like a more practical Panigale V4, and it even sounds like it. Slap a nice exhaust on it and it’s one of the best sounding bikes out there!
As a thoroughbred nerd, I agree with this video. 5/7 of those bikes are on my "to buy" list.
530 LBs is heavy? *laughs in Goldwing* cries
Speaking of Goldwing, that thing should have being the top of the list AND on the second place
@@ananass8030 until you ride one, then you'll understand why the Goldwing is one of the best selling motorcycles ever.
@@DR4WZ if Goldwing is your thing, good for you enjoy it, and don't let anyone out there put you down for it
BUT, for ME, when i want to ride a bike, i ride a bike; when i want to sit on a couch, i sit on a couch; i don't see the appeal in sitting on a motorized couch
@@ananass8030 Goldwings aren't necessarily my thing, as I don't own one. I have a 2019 ZX6R, 05 Vulcan 800, 2018 Honda Grom, 02 Suzuki Savage, and a 1992 DR350. I ride my ZX6R the most because I prefer the speed, control and road feel it provides. I just appreciate all riding styles, something I think real riders do; there's not one that's better than the next, it's all preference. And I don't look down at any motorcycle, they're all equal if the owner is getting what they need out of it.
As far as the appeal of the Goldwing or similar touring bike, try riding across the country, across the state or even to the next town 2 up on a super sport and tell me how comfortable you both were afterward. There's a reason you never see it.
@@DR4WZ You're not really riding motorcycle when you have to press a button to back it up because it's too heavy.

And leave his blinker on the whole time
Spite, you got passed by a 600cc on your VFR not because the VFR is slow. It was because you can't ride fast. So then you had to go and get yourself a SM so you wouldn't have to try and keep up with the rest of us.
Don't worry, next time I'll take my Honda Lead 110cc scooter so you won't be last on the group ride.
Man, I can't believe you let that VFR go dude!! So what if it's a total dad pod?!? It's not like you're gonna be turning any female heads, no matter what bike you're on. So might as well have kept that v4.
Kill me I don't get what is so fantastic about the vfr. My friend loves the bike he owns 2012 vrf800. After riding his bike I couldn't find the appeal. I was comparing back to back with 2014 cbr650f and the cbr650f just does everything that vfr800 is going but a level above better. And cbr650f is a kinda mediocre bike, to begin with.
The VFR from 2012 is a very different bike from the one Spite owned, (VFR 800F)
The latest VFR was a statement motorcycle from Honda, its not fastest (considerably faster than your CBR tho)
But it will outlast anything, and its built quality is godlike.
Not everyone can appriciate that, and just want more "oomph"
Which is fine, not the bike for you then.
Euroboy here. I started on the nc750x dct this year. Didn't get into a situation where it didn't suit me well. Guess i am a dork 🤓
Same here, first season riding with a hardly used NC700 DCT. A guy at work can't ride anymore, and I should prob feel guilty that he didn't charge me $2,000 more. Paid 1/3 of retail for a bike with 1,600 babied miles on it. Had plenty of cash to get gear, and a nice Cardo BT unit for tunes. Jump on it and go, no need for backpacks or bags for day trips. I love it, even if it is a bit odd looking. I'm too old for crotch rockets, and not a Harley guy. It's perfect for me
Yeah, me too.
I ride a Versys, it has a two brothers exhaust, there is nothing quiet about it haha. It's still great at flying under the radar because of the dorky look, it still handles like a full on sportbike, but is comfortable enough to do 500+ mile days. The rolling identity crisis at its best. There is a reason why Zack Corts and Ari Henning like it so much
I'm sorry mate, although I agree with your opinion, there is no way in hell that the Versys handles like a full on sportsbike xD sounds like you need to try one!
@@Real_MisterSir For anything you can do on a public road it does at least. unless your blessed with well paved canyon roads somehwere but many of us are not.
The Versys 650 is a fun motorcycle to ride that is also very comfortable. I think it looked better when the lights were stacked.
Ayo- did you ever remap/ flash tune the ecu or used a power commander? I have the Leo Vince installed and it sounds nice- was wondering if remap would make any difference.
Totally agreed concerning the NC, to the point where I said I wouldn't be seen in one.
Today I commute daily, go on breakfast runs over weekends along with the likes of Gixxers and Busas and when possible trail my way through unchartered territories alone on my 2013 NC700 DCT, no I don't turn too many heads, just enough 😊
For the record I save on fuel and maintenance for a guy that only owns one bike, the perfect setup. In fact I ride more than I repair constantly riding.
Honda has sold a boat load of “your” dorky NC750!
Yeah, there is boatloads of dorks walking around.
I just bought one. 29 years old. I like bikes and hate dying. I gess i'm boring too.
What's worse is that they even have an automatic version.

@@dougdavis2973 brasil's version only has normal shift. No DCT.
Go back to the drawing board because Nikken wasn’t mentioned

@@jgmumm strangely, saw some in Europe
holy shit those are so dorky, i saw one on offer up he wanted like 5k, for 5k i could get literally anything else
I actually seen one on the road here in NE Ohio. Don’t know what to think of that thing.
I test rode one a couple of years back out of curiosity....... it was awesome. The front end grip and handling is insanely good. I would definitely consider buying one. I actually quite like the styling. Probably get one for a song as most people dismiss them due to worrying about what other people think, but if your not a sheep thats not an issue.
I had a Harley and sold it after a year. The vibration shook all sorts of crap out of me. Had to check the fasteners every 800 miles, and even then the belt guard cracked because of the vibration. Had to start it every other day just to spin the oil back into the tank as it was sumping. I kept it for a year because Harleys are cool right. But then all of the above just got too much and I bought a NC750X. Best thing out since sliced bread. Starts first time everytime with absolutely no effort, regardless of the weather conditions. Very smooth, comfortable, practical and reliable. Not to mention the fuel economy. Call me a nerd, but I sleep a hell of a lot better now.

LOL my buddy, last week was going to get the NC750 Honda....but ended up getting a 2020 Kawasaki Versys 650 instead. I rode it and that it was plenty quick, little slow to get to speed and wasn't the fasted thing around, but I liked it and we took it 300 Miles into Baja and back already and was the perfect bike for that trip. More coming.
It might be dorky but the NC750X is probably one of the best bikes ever created. Handles well, has enough power to do every task, economical, reliable and retail price is amazing too. I dont actually own one but nearly did (if it had another 20 hp I would of)
Genuinely looking at getting one one the second hand market but they hold their price so well. Even 8yr old models are going for 3g and up.
They’re like driving a diesel and I don’t mean that in a bad way. Really torquey and you have to short shift a lot as it doesn’t rev high. It’s actually based on a Honda Yaris engine chopped in two. They’ll go forever as really under-stressed.

I agree. You don't have to break the bank to fuel it. Super reliable. And yes, I admit, fun to ride too.
I have a 2014. I plan on having it another couple of years, but it is a nice commuter and sport tourer. Not much more. The fuel economy is very nice as well.
I have 80000 reasons to like my NC700X
Oh man, I love the NC500x! I doubt I'll ever be able to ride it since I'm pretty short for an adventure bike... But I love it! I love adventure bikes lol
Just bought myself a 2021 Yamaha mt03
In a heavy traffic environment like Manila, you will cry having a clutch motorcyle...Say goodbye to your hands...
I will welcome an nc 750x 2021 when ever it arrives here in Manila....
you can buy 1 at 7power motors. they have a Honda NC750x.
That and the pollution in Manila might kill you first
Got it, so low-vis is the way to be.
Being unsafe and inconvenienced are apparently what makes riding cool to this yam guy
One... is it too much to ask for just one video on the vfr800 and how it’s the best do-it-all bike and sportiest commuter? Literally my only ride right now and I have no regrets. Also I have the 2005 so the single side swing arm is sexy af 🤷♂️
I can see how the VFR doesn't appeal to a teenager with a man-bun, but it's a fantastically efficient mile-eater the qualities of which are more than skin-deep.. and no, it doesn't shout; it just does what a Ducati wishes it could do at that money..
Love my 98 VFR with custom under seat exhaust to show off the single swing arm. I’ve owned it 16 yrs and will never sell it.
Vfr it's too heavy though
@@mverick5444 To heavy for what?
@@jasonengland2357 my friend's viffer 800 was 520 lb heavy. Just too boring and heavy
@@mverick5444 courous what bike you own?
When this guy grows up and acquires some wisdom and dignity he may stop talking shit...... okay its unlikely, but there’s always hope🙏🏼
Hmmmm......Nah, ain't gonna happen.
I was very concerned that my V-Strom 650 would appear in this list, however seeing my helmet stored in a NC750 is close enough.
Lol
Hmmmmmm. That was my first choice till I got a great deal on the NC700X.
Same! When he said #1 and #2 were tied, and then brought up the Versys 650 I thought for sure it was over!
Yeah whew wee. It's a tall sv 650 tho--and that's cool. We're either cool nerds, or nerdy cool people!
I’m fairly certain he knew we’d come for his head lol.
Coming from riding scooters in the past and having tons of storage is what made the NC700 and 750 so useable for me and I personally love the looks of the bike and good price as well. Do I wish it had more power yes but is it something I see myself getting lots of use of without getting into trouble Yes.
The 2021 version has 70HP so they are getting better
Love my NC but I am also an unapologetic nerd so kinda proud to see it at the top of this list.
I absolutely love the roast videos!! As a nerd interested in motorcycles, I find it hilarious that several of the bikes I have been looking at were on this list rofl Please keep up these kinds of videos because they really brighten my day!
The NC, VFR, GS and Versys are all great bikes because they're viable as the only vehice you own. They're comfortable and versatile enough for going to work or to travel during the summer.
Same goes for the beginner bikes you mentionned- Your "great beginner bike" is, in my opinion, worse than the alternatives with multiple cylinders and fairings. I wouldn't want to ride a 401 svartpilen for hours on the highway to visit my parents. I wouldn't want to ride it in the cold, with no protection from the icy wind. But I'd love to ride it on my spare time or to commute to work on a sunny day, the offroad capabilities are also great you're right.
Some people can't afford a car AND a bike, we choose a "dorky" bike to be able to ride, but we have to ride in all conditions, even when we don't want to. Is it fun to ride in the rain while it's freezing outside ? No. Is the bike worth it ? Hell yeah
Thank you for making me feel better about my purchase of NC700X as my first and only vehicle to succeed my pedal bicycle.
well these guys(yammie gang) they are thinking about the bikes in a different way ....i dont understand why they hate so much versys650 or cbr500r ...great all round bikes ... but they are not funny or i dont know what for them ... a channel like this should be focused on objectiv or objectiv as it gets opinions ... but they just hate what they hate ... telling no facts and just telling us there are a better options ... which ones ? they do not know ... and also theyre riding style is 90%fun and 10% everything else .... then i dont get it ... why they are trying to convince people that sporttourers or ADV toureers sucks and we should get svartpilen 401 ?? doesnt make any sense ... they talk shit and then come with totally different bike to choose ...
While the Versys is in the middle of Zack's graph, it's also at the top of his 'best daily rider' list. Maybe you should try one.
Boring bike =/= bad bike
For the record, deleting the cat adds .8 hp, not .4...
The Versys isn't boring to ride, it just ... cosmetically challenged.
@@mrvwbug4423 I think it looks great, its the 180° twin that's the problem
Idk, they seem way too ignorant to actually try it. They’d rather just point and laugh and never try to understand 🤷♂️
The 2 best bikes were the Honda Vfr 800 and the Nc750. Honda is gonna sell a ton of Rebel 1100 dct's when it releases in January.
An interesting, condescending outlook from his mom's basement.
spite: leave me alone mom i wanna look cool for y.t.
sweet burn
Love everything about my VFR 800! It works for me has power through all the gears when I need to use it. Never gave me a single problem none. The seating position is comfortable especially with the sergeant seat. I also like that it’s heavy especially passing semis or on a bridge on a windy day. I hope you’re right though that the bike thieves think it’s too nerdy to bother and steal that lighter R-6 they saw a few blocks ago. The NC750x is not for me but I can see how the utility in it very high fuel mileage and a place to stash your stuff quickly. Dct is awesome especially in stop and go traffic don’t knock it until you’ve experienced it in heavy stop and go traffic. If I had to choose from a GS or a panagale it would definitely be the GS they’re both higher maintenance but the GS is a good looking bike you don’t have to take it off-road just because you can. King nerd tells you what bikes are cool 😂. It’s good entertainment though now go pick up your Ducati kickback check. The bike must be so horrible you can’t even give it away as y’all been trying for about three months now 🤣🤣🤣
Owner of a VFR here and while I personally agree that it is dork bike, inline 4 owners seem to think its god-tier
VFR800 actually looks like a pretty cool bike. One of our dealers here in Vancouver has one, and as I was looking it over on the website I was thinking how just having some black on the fairing to break up the solid red would make it look even better.
Each to his/her own. I like quiet bikes that I can ride through residential areas late at night without making new enemies.
Same here, with my NC750.
My first bike was an 09 Versys 650 and I don’t regret it for a second. Way more fun than an
anemic 300/400cc sport bike lite, and so much more practical and comfortable than an 883, but could still keep up on the highway. Maybe it’s a nerd bike, but I have amazing memories of the oddball Kawi.
I ride a one-cylinder F650 GS with saddlebags - it’s a complete little nerd bike, but it’s so practical for commuting and travelling that I just don’t care 😅 While it doesn’t impress anyone, it fits my needs and is fun to ride for extended periods of time!
So if this is the dork list, what's on the Dad bike list, or are they basically the same? LOL asking for a friend
I agree! We definitely need a Best Dad Bikes list!!!
I ride Versys 1000. Talk about a dad bike...
Btw, the “ticket getter” option seems to be broken on mine, despite my tendency to cruise at 20 over.
@@MrClay1971 Same, I ride a Versys 650, I can pretty much fly down the canyons at similar speeds to the crotch rockets and not draw much attention.
GS is by far number one dad's bike, followed by other adv bikes.
Personally I have a CB650R, and I'm 54.
Hey Yam, we’ll once again you’ve managed to offend a large group of riders. I’m 62 years old and decided to take up riding just 2 years ago. (My late life crisis?) - I started with a Yamaha XT 250 to learn how to ride safely on the street and a little off road riding. Quickly decided that off road riding is just too limited availability and was really enjoying the back country highways here in Oregon. So, I needed something that was more substantial and capable for the back highways and after a lot of research settled in on the Versys 650 as a good 2nd Bike choice. I found a 2015 650 Versys LT - with just 3000 Miles and absolute mint condition and paid just $ 5200 -- Over this first year I’ve logged about 6000 Miles on my Versys and am in love with the bike. Not sure I could have made a better choice for a second bike. It a great fit for my situation. I’m wondering what you would have a rider of my age and limited experience choose for a second bike with the type of riding I do? - I know there are a lot of people similar to me that love their Versys bikes. Feel like you’re unfair in your assessments and should really rethink your approach to your subjects. You are a very negative guy, that’s a poor way to live life my friend. Look for the positives in life. You’ll be a happier Yam.
I'm torn between the Versys and the Tracer. Leaning towards the Versys.
@@The66Leadfoot yea, the Tracers a nice bike too, did you make a decision yet?
Another thing that makes you look like a dork is riding down the road with your blinker on! Glad to see around the 4 min mark the background bike finally turned his blinker off! Was starting to aggravate me! 😆
The Yamaha TW makes sense and I will tell you why.
In Japan - where the majority are not long of leg - the TW was not only popular, but had a HUGE modding and custom community. I am talking for more that 20-30 years they have been stripping them down, lengthening the swingarm, and generally having fun with their rides.
This was the case 20 years ago when i lived in Japan, and is still the case now, albeit they are not as common, but still widespread. 200cc TW is kind of like a perfect bike for zipping around the city, it is low compact, probably not too heavy or difficult to manage, and a basic motorcycle license is enough for it.
My ex was also going to get one as it was one of the few bikes that a short woman could comfortably straddle and control and it had offroad capability.
Uncool? In its stock form, yes it might be a little dorky, but i have seen dozens of very cool ones in Japan, and for the right conditions and rider, they could be an excellent choice.
The fact that you can't understand why Ari likes his bike shows exactly why you shouldn't be calling any bike dorky.
"a panigale with a dad bod" haha some amazing lines in this video. love it :)
Ouch my bike got roasted at number 1 lol. At least mine is a M/T? lol
Whys it cool to pick on men whove been divorced and are trying to do something to feel better about themselves? I don't get it? I don't think its cool
@@leftymike8730 yeah I just being obtuse to call attention to it
"We only like a specific type of bike and if you ride for any reason other than attention and raw sex appeal, we don't like you".
Yeah, totally agree. Especially since those divorcees totally have a leg up on those of us who are still married.
Give him time. He'll probably find himself in the same situation some day. A little thing called karma.
Wonder how many divorces are the motorcycles to be blamed....
Considering Spike and Yammie drive Harleys, Thriumps and Ducati I think they just don't like bikes that work all the time when you press the starter.
You should do a video about dorkiest things that motorcyclists do, like realizing at 4:06 in a video that you had your right turn signal on and finally turned it off. LOL
All in good fun. Keep up the great videos Yammie!
I have the NC in a 6 speed manual. I was close to buying a fast crotch rocket, or a harley (I like both styles of riding) then I realised sometimes you're only buying things to appeal to others. Sports bikes are uncomfortable for a 6'3 man, and harleys are basically a way of flirting with other guys who now think they're in sons of anarchy cos they brought a motorcycle. The NC will lean til you're scraping, has plenty enough usable power between corners, the frunk is a godsend. To me, the dorkiest bike is the one you buy to impress others, not the one you buy for yourself.
Proud to be a nerd on my R1250GS. And given how popular it is here in Australia (and Europe as well), there's plenty more nerds to talk nerdy with! 😉
Deep, deep inside he wishes he actually owned one
Put a good rider on it and most other bikes are having a very hard time following the GS in the mountain turns.
Hahaha, love my Honda ctx700 dct abs (so the fact that you saved #1 spot for nc750, I assumed you meant me too.) I must say though, honda wouldn't know how to act in any other position than #1.
Nerdy, maybe. But my bike starts every time, is easy to ride, and 2 weeks ago when I took the long T-day weekend to cruise the nc obx 350 miles from home, I fell during a nerdy dismount when my leathers got tangled up in my tail bag. Whelp, I sprained my left hand/wrist in the fall. Thank goodness for honda's DCT, because my hand swelled up like a puffer fish. I made it home only because on the honda 700ctx dct, the left hand is basically just along for the ride (as long as turn signals are optional)....
Anyway, love your shows, no one else can pack a sentence with edutainment like you do.
I have a Versys... and this is 100% correct. It can definitely be fun, but it's a nerd bike through and through. I'm a bike nerd though, so it's all good.
I got a versys 1000 and I love the look the riders of the "cooler" bikes give me as I pass them in the canyons.
I had an NC, loved it. Took long trips, putzed in the woods,, and was able to do all the maintenance, including valves with no problems. Cheap too. Didn't really want DCT, but got it because of wanting antilock brakes. Ended up really liking the DCT. Great at embarrassing other motorcycles at stop lights. And don't forget the Frunk!. Every motorcycle should have one.
so smart bikes choices are dumb? alrighty then
Yes it actually is true, I feel the motorcycle that catches your attention should be your ride, and it shouldn't make sense!
@@paavanpanchal1067 A bike that doesn't make sense would be, by definition, dumb. Want to try that one again?
Dorky and Dumb are the opposite.
@@derekschulz7813 well apparently the dictionary disagrees with you. personally I never associated dork with smart, you can be dumb and a dork, smart and a dork
Some folks sure are overly concerned about what other people think of them. Kind of a high school thing....
Just rode my nerdy old NC750XD up the historic Klausenpass here in Switzerland. Carried a rainsuit (just in case), food, soup in thermos and drink with me in the front storage box. Best bike I ever had (and I have had lots since 1988)
Hey, the TW200 is a great bike to keep at the cabin, because any relative that shows up can ride it!
LOVE my verses and couldn’t give a rats patootie what other “cool” riders think of it.
patootie
Uh. Have you actually ridden a Versys 650? On and light off road it kicks butt. Trust Zach and Arri. They know best cause they ride all.
Loving the fact that the nc700 is up there with the ari henning machine!
The ultra hyper dork nerd shuttle of choice however must be the ultra rare predator of the highway, dct stealth fighter esque Honda Vultus!!
Had me scared for a few minutes, I thought for sure you were going to include my 1989 PC800!
Cancel your turn signal, noob! ;)
Also my wife and I both laughed at "weighs almost as much as your mom".
DAMN IT! I was hoping to make the list with my V-Strom 650 😂😂
We all were brother.
Papa YAM! Huge fan, new rider and learned a ton. Spent about 15/16hrs on your channel already 😂
That blinker stuck on in the first ride along footage was driving me nuts!
Says a 300 lbs dough-boy with a man bun.
love you spite but gotta admit you walked right into that one 😂
Panigale V4 is basically the grandson of the VFR. Respect your elders!
My custom almost straight pipe on my 98 VFR800 sounds way better than the videos I’ve heard of the Ducati V4S, yes it has twice the power as mine but I paid $3,500 for mine 16 yrs ago and will never get tired of this bike.
Street 500 is my first bike and I love it. Did make some changes like upgraded the rear shocks and seat. Made such a huge difference and is more than enough to start with also I got complements all the time. Breaks are not great which is true but you can make that bike your own.
Dude that underseat storage of the NC750 is totally sick. (And as a slightly dorky new rider, versatility is king, yo!)
99 vfr800 was bike of the year😁😁
Hell yeah. Got one this year
Spite you really disappoint me I thought we were Vfr bros😭
That Ninja with the orange flashes looked pretty neat IMO.
Lol watching this as I just bought my new 2020 nc750x as my first bike 😂
But I have no shame because I love it!
#3 -- I bought a Ninja 400 as my TENTH bike, and it's just about perfect for me. And I seem to remember a video where some dude rode around with his buddy's bigger bikes on a black Ninja 400 and talked about how decent the 400 was.
I've owned a 750, two 600 inline fours, an SV650S, and I've put a lot of miles on a ZRX1200R. The 400 does everything I want in a lightweight package that is still fun on our straight roads. I'm through with overpowered bikes, and a 600cc four (or the new Aprilia 660) are overpowered for me, for my area, and for the riding I do.
The ninja 400 will still smoke most cars on the street. Realistically how much power do you actually need on the street anyway... I laugh at people that suggest it's only a "beginner bike". It's more like an excellent street bike.
People, i mean
I prefer my Vespa 300 HPE to my Harley. I've been riding since 1974 and wish I hadn't wasted so many years of not having a scooter. Ride what you want. Choosing what you ride based on the opinion of others is a vice and a weakness.
My brother got the NC,add on the leg shifter.. and voilaaa,it become fun bike to ride.. like a quickshifter!!
I kind of dig the Versys but damn the svartpilen looks super cool. Thanks for the recommendation bro.
It's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow.
That nc sounds like the perfect bike to me, no matter how dorky that makes me ^^
Love the video. Agree with the facts
